“Her name is Miranda. She was supposed to get married to alpha Walden, but their engagement got canceled because she got married to someone else. Still, that doesn’t change the way Walden feels about her, he’s crazy for her, and if there’s anyone whom Walden would go as far as risking his life for, it’s not me, it’s her. No one but her.”
He nodded, “I see, so where is this Miranda? And where can I find her?”
“That’s the hard part of it; Miranda happened to be foolishly trespassing one day on restricted territory. She was captured by the silver alpha Damian and taken in as his prisoner. Alpha Damian forced her to marry him against her will to save her life and that of her people, she is still with him as a slave up till now.”
“This marriage to the silver alpha, you said that’s the reason why Miranda’s engagement with Walden was canceled?”
“Yes, that’s the only reason why. Walden was crazy about it but he didn’t want to risk his army by fighting with the silver alpha for Miranda, so there was nothing he could do to stop her forced marriage.”
“Walden’s lover got kidnapped, and Walden sits at home unable to do anything about it… How sure are you that he will even bother himself to come here if I happened to be the one to capture Miranda?”
Wow! Samara hadn’t thought of that answer before, “um…. He’ll come!!! Especially if he’s aware that he no longer stands against a force as strong as the silver alpha! He’ll be more obliged to save her if he has a weaker opponent to face!!”
“The night shadow alpha sounds really puny, he leaves his girl to be suffering in another man’s hand claiming he’s unable to do anything. He never even made attempt to go and rescue her himself if he can’t risk his men, sounds unlikely for an alpha…. It’s either you’re making this up, or alpha Walden just happens to be a coward…”
“No! He isn’t!!! And I’m not making this up! I’ve told you all there is and all you have to do to get Walden to come here; go to the silver pack and capture Miranda, then tell him you have her hostage. You’ll see how he’ll come running here, I assure you, he will.”
“Very well, I might just take a chance on what you said.”
“Thank you. So now that I’ve given you what you want, I demand to be released now.”
The kidnapper shook his head, letting out a chuckle. “Tsk Tsk, Samara, Samara….. So you’re not as smart as I thought you were.”
“What… What do you mean….? I gave you what you want, now let me go!”
He continued, ignoring her statement, “If we, by any means made a mistake by kidnapping the wrong person like you said, and this Miranda is the one who’s supposed to be on this seat, then it can only mean one thing…”
Her heart began to spring up, fear emmiting from every corner near her, like she already knew what next he was going to say. He leaned down, revealing a grin through the black cotton mask, before bringing his mouth closer to her ear to whisper, “It means I no longer have any use for you.”
“You… You scumbag, you tricked me!” She growled.
He shrugged, “I did no such thing, you’re the one who offered the information on your own will.”
“On the condition that I’ll be released from here….”
“I never agreed to such conditions Samara. I only said I’ll consider it. I did, and my answer is no. You won’t be released from here, not even when we kidnap Miranda, not even when Walden comes.”
“Ahhhhhhhhh!!!!! YOU BASTARD!!!!!! YOU F**KING BASTARD!!!!”
“Feel free to scream as loud as you want dear. No one will ever hear your noises down here.”
She’d screamed so much, her lungs wanted to burst. He went to a corner of the room to exchange some words with someone that Samara hadn’t noticed there before, then returned to her.
“Time to go back to sleep dear,” he brought out another handkerchief, like the one whose scent made her pass out the last time. Samara upon realizing, began to beg.
“No…. No…. No!!! Please…. Not again, I’ll be quiet, please…. no…. Hmmmmm!!!!!!” Against all her pleas, he held her neck in place with one hand and closed the cloth over her nose and mouth with the other, making sure she inhaled well enough before releasing his grip. She struggled but it was no use. Slowly, Samara’s environment started fading away again, and the last thing she heard before she slept was the sound of footsteps, and the kidnapper making arrangements with the other masked man to send a message to the few spies they had planted in the silver territory.
**********
“Hey boss, I’m done, she’s asleep now, you heard everything we talked about, right?”
“Whatever, we need to get this Miranda she spoke of, if catching her the only way to lure the night shadow alpha to come here, then we gotta act quick!!!”
“Yes sir!”
He looked in the direction of Samara whose head was bent in sleep and tied up in the middle of the room, he then nudged his hireling by the shoulder.
“Are you sure she’s asleep? She mustn’t hear what we’re about to discuss.”
“Don’t worry boss, she’s sniffed that stuff up real good. There’s no way she’ll be able to hear anything we say.”
The boss nodded, “good, because if you make one mistake by letting your mouth slip while she’s awake, if she hears anything she’s not supposed to hear, I’ll make sure to kill you and keep your share of the bounty.”
Gulps, “don’t worry boss, that won’t happen.”
“It better not, because the Red moon alpha didn’t pay us big money to be messing things up. Alpha Walden must be killed, and no one must discover who did it.”
