Book:Fated To The Ruthless Alpha King Published:2024-6-5

Early the next morning, Beta Renard was prepared to set out to begin the search for Katrina as promised to the alpha, he set out to a military vehicle conveyed by one of his men, on the intent that when he reached the border, he would depart and continue the rest of the journey on his own. If she left the terrain, Katrina must have probably gone through the Turnal lands first, as it’s whole border outlay that of the silver territory.
The military vehicle had driven a few miles away from the town, away from the surrounding lands before getting towards the silver border, soon ready to leave.
But then, the beta realized that there was no need to go any further, as the driver spotted a body, not so far ahead.
“Stop the vehicle!” Renard ordered as soon as the driver directed him towards his findings.
As the motor stopped, the beta hurriedly came down and ran to examine her, she was still very much alive, though weak, she’d probably collapsed from exhaustion, but still very much alive, and somehow, she was back here.
“Oh thank goodness! She’s alive! And she made it back! Master would be very much pleased!!!”

Katrina had made it back! How much alpha Damian’s heart leaped upon hearing the good news!
Renard had sent for the physician immediately upon bringing her in. She was in a very bad state, but at the very least, she was alive!
Damian remained pacing about in front of Katrina’s room. He’d been waiting here for long minutes but his legs wouldn’t let him leave this place unless he found out about her state.
He suddenly heard footsteps coming behind him, someone was approaching here. He turned to see who it was, of course no one but Miranda. She had heard about Katrina and now had a very worried look on her face.
“How is she?” Miranda asked him.
“She’s still in there with the physician. I’ve been waiting here and I too haven’t gotten any update since he went in to treat her.”
“Oh!” she gasped. “I do hope she’ll be all right!”
“She will,” at least, he too, hoped she would be. This was all his fault, Katrina was in that state all because of him, all because he neglected her. If anything happened to her because of this, he’d never forgive himself.
Miranda seemed to notice his unrest then. She held his hand then and gave it a small squeeze, partially gaining his attention.
“Don’t worry,” she assured. “Katrina is strong. I’m sure everything will be ok. Please don’t beat yourself up over what happened.”
He was thankful for her comforting words, but if only they could comfort him completely and make him forget about all his worries.
“How could I not Miranda? How could I not?”
Just then, the door to Katrina’s room opened and the silver packs healer, Simba stepped out with his working kit.
Damian hurriedly left Miranda to meet with him, “so??? How is she??? How’s her condition?” He desperately inquired.
“She’s lucky that the beta brought her here on time. She made herself go through so much but she will survive it.”
“Oh! Thank goodness!” He sighed. “Can I go in and see her now?”
Simba smiled, “sure you can, but please be tender with her sire, she’s still recovering.”
He made his way past the physician and was about to open the door when he noticed Miranda follwing behind him. She wanted to go in there with him too.
Sighs, how does he break this down to her? “Um… Miranda?”
Through clueless eyes, she answered, “Yes?”
“I don’t…”
“What? You don’t what?”
He brought his hand to slightly scratch the back of his head, finding the most gentle way to say this, “I don’t… Um, think you should come in with me now…”
Her eyes glinted, finally understanding what he meant, “Oh… Um, okay.”
He nodded, “yes, I’m sorry Miranda, but it’s only for now.”
She shook her head, brushing it off, “oh, no… It’s… It’s okay. I guess I’ll just go now…” she said, passing him a still glance, trying hide her disappointment before walking away.
Damian entered Katrina’s room then after Miranda and Simba left, she’d just woken up, but still in bed, still so weak.
His gaze held pity.
“Katrina… ”
“Hello, master.”
“But why???? Where did you go to Katrina?”
“I was…”
“You were what Katrina??? You…” upon realizing that his raised voice was beginning to upset her, he calmed his temperament.
“I’m sorry, I was just… So worried about your sudden disappearance,” he muttered under his breath.
“I didn’t mean to… I was just so hurt and confused…. I didn’t think you wanted me any longer… I didn’t think I wanted to stay here any longer…”
“Why didn’t you tell me Katrina? Why didn’t you tell me how much it affected you???”
“I’m sorry.. I…. I wasn’t sure you’d do anything about it and….”
“So you left? You thought that leaving would solve the problem? Running away from it all would make you feel much better???”
She nodded admittedly, “yes, I needed to be away from this place. I thought that it would make me feel better but now I realize that it didn’t…. I’m sorry for all the worry I put you through.”
“I’m too am sorry if any of my actions hurt you Katrina, I knew you’d be upset, but I didn’t think you’d go this far… You should have least thought about the dangers you’d be encountering upon leaving these territories…!”
Shaking her head, “sadly, I didn’t. I was too distraught…, too upset about your wedding. I think even think near that at all.”
“Well you should have, at least for the sake of your precious life. You had me so damn worried Katrina!”
“I’m sorry. Now I know better, and I won’t ever do it again.”
“Please don’t. Don’t ever scare me like that again!”
“I promise I won’t. In fact I’m already over it and now I can only wish you the best in your marriage.”
Her current words shocked him. “Are you… Sure of what you’re saying? Are you sure you’re over it? Because I sure as heck don’t believe you….”
“It’s the truth Damian, I realized a lot of things that made me decide to return back here. I admit that I overreacted. I should have never left home in the first place….”
He stared at her strangely, wondering who this woman was and what she’d done with Katrina when she left.
“Are you sure?” He asked again.” You know you can always tell me anything Katrina, I still got your back no matter what…”
“Yes, I know you do, thank you for coming to see me alpha Damian. It truly means a lot.”
