“Can you leave the search for her and find someone compatible now!” Old Mr Lyle spoke.
“No.” Devian was firm.
“Bastard! It has been three months, her corpse must have rotten already!” Old Mr Lyle can’t take more of Devian’s silly act.
“Get out!” Devian said calmly. He really didn’t want any conflicts but his grandpa had always said things which made him so angry.
“You brat! You’re saying me to get out while you’re standing in my empire!” Old Mr Lyle shouted.
“Your empire? Go and check the name of the CEO and the chairman. They are me and grandma respectively.” Devian said coldly.
Old Mr Lyle had nothing to say after this. It was indeed true so he quietly left.
Dean could see old Mr Lyle leaving gloomily. He knew, Devian would have again told the same thing.
It was already three months. But his Director was determined. Sometimes this made Dean more concerned about him. This period must’ve been really harsh for him. It was not so long when Devian looked more like a man but after she has gone, he turned back to the old Devian Ace with no emotions at all. Maybe has become even worse.
Everyone who were around felt that he was being unreasonable, thinking she would still be alive, even Dean himself thought that way sometimes. But he knew how she came to his life and changed him to a human so he could feel the pain that Devian was going through. He can’t even blame him.
But now, everything has gone back. Maybe everything has become worse because earlier he was a man with lot of power and potential but lacked emotions and now he was a beast. Ready to kill only with a glance. It was all gloomy around him.
“He can’t take it. He can’t believe that she has gone. Even I’ve lost hopes of young madam being alive but…”
“Have you got anything?” Devian’s voice brought Dean back from his thoughts.
“It’s still the same. They say they’d stop the search.” Dean answered.
“They won’t. It’s my order.” Devian said coldly looking out of the big window.
“Yes director” Dean walked out.
Dean came out of the office. “Sigh! I hope he would snap out of it soon. I can’t see him like this as if he’s out of his mind. Everyone believes that Mrs Lyle is no more but no one could say that out loud. Even Madam Lyle and master Lyle can’t say that to director. I just hope everything comes back to normal. Even if my director won’t be like when he was with Mrs Lyle, at least I hope he could return back to his usual cold blooded director rather than sticking to keep finding someone who can’t be found anymore.”
…
“Everyday has been same since you’ve gone lost. Just give me some hint, where you are? I’ve been like a living dead.” There was a knock on the door.
He was still facing the big glass window looking at a distance.
“Leo” he heard from behind. He was disgusted even with her voice.
“Get out!” He didn’t turn back nor did he shout. He spoke as if he was talking to a criminal. He was so cold that gave her shivers.
“Listen to me once Leo.” Susan tried speaking calmly, suppressing her fears. “She has gone. It is already three months since she has gone. Can you snap out of it and take care of what is still alive. Not for me, but at least you can stay with me for this child, for… your child, Leo.” Susan spoke in a single breath.
“I’m not throwing you out only because you’re pregnant. If you were here just like that, I would’ve already asked my men to toss you out. Don’t show me your face again.” He said.
Susan clenched her fist. “You can’t throw me out because you care. You may not care for me but you do care for your child Devian…”
He raised his hand indicating her to stop speaking. “If you don’t know who’s your child’s father then go and abort it. This isn’t my child.” Hearing his own name, Devian, from her mouth felt ridiculous.
“Leo” this time it was old Mrs Lyle. “You should take the responsibility of what you did. You can’t treat her like this.” Old Mrs Lyle paused before saying, “You’ll marry her this week. It would be simple one….”
“I’m not marrying anyone else. Arien is my wife! ” He shouted.
“And she’s dead!” Old Mrs Lyle also raised her voice.
He was already in such a state, she felt wronged but what else can she do. She had to bring him back to life for which she had to make him forget about her. There was nothing else she could think of except this proposal. Marrying Susan to him would be best not only for making him distracted from Arien’s thoughts but also because he was the father of the child in her womb.
“Grandma, give me some time. I want to be alone. Moreover I won’t marry even if I won’t find Arien. I’m not going to marry either way. So just forget about this thought.” He said every word very clearly.
Even his family members aren’t able to convince him not to mention Susan whom he has hated even more.
Old Mrs Lyle sighed in her heart. His grandson was never like this before. She took Susan’s hand, turned around and left.
Outside the office she spoke to Susan in a pleading voice, “I know you like him. But you can’t lure him even with his own child, so just have an abortion.”
“But grandma, I want to have this child. It’s Devian’s blood. If not today he’ll definitely feel it when he’s actually born.” Susan spoke confidently.
“Listen Susan, I know and I appreciate that you’re thinking about Leo, but you can’t be pregnant with his child if you’re not married to him. Our family won’t allow that. Never!” Old Mrs Lyle was also stern in her words. She patted her shoulder and walked away.
Susan bit the bullet and kept quiet, not offending old Mrs Lyle. She could just stomp her feet and curse everyone in her heart.
…
“Did you find anything, Louis?” Julien sat there and spoke very lightly.
“Sigh! No Julie, I just hope at least we find something to prove that she’s no more. Until he’s not shown the signs and he’d not see it with his very own eyes, he won’t believe us.”
“Don’t say that, I really hope you get nothing to prove it. If he wants to live in this hope of her return, then let it be. Why to hurt him even more?” Julien cried.
Louis didn’t understand what should he do now. “Okay.. there… there don’t cry. Everything will be fine.” He hugged her tightly.
She hugged him back. “I hope he returns to being his usual self. I can even accept the cold hearted, emotionless robot but not this Leo. It has been three months and he’s not even talking to anyone properly. Everyday he works like a machine and at night locks himself in his apartment. He even didn’t let me enter yesterday when I went there, he said he wanted to sleep but I don’t think he does.”
He was and is the backbone of the family and seeing him like this is really terrific.
“He didn’t shed a single drop of tear and kept repeating that she’s alive, the time we found him that day. You saw how miserable his condition was back then.”Julien reminded.
Louis couldn’t think of him being like that.
“It’s okay, it must be fate.” He said consoling Julien and maybe himself as well.
…..
That is how things are, isn’t it? You don’t know when you’ll lose the person you treasure the most, the person you can’t think your life without. But even after that, even after losing the person, the worst and the most horrible thing is to let go and move on. Coz you can’t take your life so as to not let others, who love you, be in trouble. You know that you can’t bring the person back to life again.
That time what matters most is the last goodbye which you’ve said to one another. What if you don’t get the chance to say goodbye even for the last time?
Anyways,
The sun will rise everyday even if you can’t see the face of the person you want to see just once more.
You know you can’t turn back the time and hence you keep moving.
This is how
… Life will go on…
