Chapter 171: Rumor has it

“Go find Captain Keegan and detain Quentin for a few days,” Russell said coldly. “We can’t let this guy continue to be so insolent.”
As the head of the Pittman family, how could he tolerate being provoked again and again by this disgraceful fry?
“I’ll take care of it right away.”
Nikolas nodded. Quentin was getting too brazen, and Nikolas couldn’t stand this attitude. Now that he had the chance to deal with him, Nikolas wouldn’t let it slip by.
He had to vent his anger!
In the evening, at the Central Hospital.
A group of constables arrived, their faces grim and determined, rushing into Charlotte’s hospital room, creating a commotion in the corridor and surrounding the area.
This attracted a lot of attention, and many were curious about what was happening.
“It’s him!”
Nikolas strode through the constables and pointed at Quentin. “This guy trespassed our Pittman family and injured one of our people. You must make sure justice is served for us!”
Charlotte’s face paled. She had never seen such a scene before.
Quentin frowned slightly, but showed no sign of panic. He lowered his eyes and calmly peeled an orange, offering it to Charlotte. “Open your mouth.”
Charlotte obediently opened her mouth.
After feeding her the orange, Quentin smiled in satisfaction.
“The constables have arrived…” Charlotte looked worried. “Will you be okay?”
“I’ll go and come back,” Quentin smiled. “Nothing will happen.”
“Don’t confront them. You can’t fight these people. Just do as they say and listen, understand?” Charlotte advised.
Quentin smiled gently. “I’ll listen to you.”
Nikolas sneered. Going in like that, did he really think he could walk out unscathed? Dream on.
Captain Keegan waved his hand and said in a low voice, “Take him away-”
“I’ll walk myself out.” Quentin left the hospital room on his own.
Nikolas whispered to Captain Keegan, “Captain Keegan, we appreciate your help with this matter. My grandfather is very grateful.”
Captain Keegan smiled knowingly. “No need to be so courteous. Upholding justice is our duty.”
In the constable’s office, Captain Keegan sat across from Quentin, his voice cold as he questioned, “Why did you commit violence against the Pittman family? Such actions are too despicable.”
Quentin’s tone was calm. “The Pittman family made my wife kneel outside for hours, causing her to faint, and then imprisoned her, preventing her from seeking medical help. I went to rescue her. What’s wrong with that?”
Captain Keegan slammed his hand on the table. With a sharp gaze, he pressed Quentin, “How could Lord Pittman do such a thing! Now, you have another accusation, slander.”
Seeing his expression, Quentin sneered. He already knew what to expect.
“The Pittman family’s words are right, and mine are false? Captain Keegan, you have quite the authority.”
“Bold!” Captain Keegan scolded. “With concrete evidence, you still dare to resist. Take him to be detained and confess, lock him up and handle him.”
“No need to trouble Captain Keegan. I’ll go on my own.” Quentin stood up with a smile. “But, Captain Keegan, don’t expect me to come out easily.”
Captain Keegan frowned slightly. Why was this guy so cooperative?
This was not what he had expected!
Inside the cell, Quentin sat there, looking dazed. How long had it been since he felt this way? The last time he was in a place like this, he was framed.
He didn’t expect that even with his power and influence, he would have the chance to sit in a place like this.
It was quite amusing.
However, Eileen should have heard the news by now…
Captain Keegan approached the iron bars, looking at Quentin inside with a cold smile. “Enjoy your time in there.”
He gestured, and a few constables brought in a group of men dressed in prison uniforms, looking fierce and menacing, and directly sent them into Quentin’s cell.
Captain Keegan said, “Remember to take care of this new dude.”
After that, he turned around and left, closing the iron gate with a bang.
Then…
A series of screams echoed from inside.
Captain Keegan listened to the screams, lit a cigarette, as if savoring some wonderful music. “These guys are quite ruthless, huh?”
But gradually…
He felt that something was amiss.
He suddenly opened the iron door and saw the scene inside the cell, and he was dumbfounded…
All those men in prison uniforms were kneeling inside, bruised and battered, heads hanging low, meek and unable to even catch a breath. Quentin, on the other hand, sat there casually, watching them with amusement.
“Is this it? These guys couldn’t even give me a good fight, Captain Keegan. Is this all you’ve got?” Quentin said as he kicked one of the men in prison uniforms down.
“Idiot!” Captain Keegan felt like he had been slapped hard in the face, his cheeks burning, his fists clenched.
Just then, a constable hurried over to him and said urgently, “Captain Keegan, Chief Inspector wants us to assemble urgently. We need to go quickly; I heard… a big shot has arrived.”
“What big shot?”
Captain Keegan was surprised.
The constable whispered in his ear, “It’s said to be from the War Department, likely one of the four War Kings under his command… the Phoenix Lord!”
