Chapter 42: I Want Her Eyes

Book:Fallen Heir Rising Published:2024-6-5

After Charlotte and the others left, Nikolas had an unpleasant expression on his face and asked, “Grandfather, what should we do if that woman really secures the project?”
“Isn’t that a good thing? It’s a significant amount of money, $50 million, which is a big sum for our Pittman family. If she secures the project, it benefits our Pittman family,” responded Russell.
“But…” Nikolas took a deep breath. “Do we have to give her the spots at Sloburg Kindergarten too?”
Russell closed his eyes and calmly said, “That was your own gamble, not something I agreed to. Besides, those two illegitimate children are not part of the Pittman family.”
“Why should we give away the spots that the Pittman family worked hard to obtain?”
Russell remained nonchalant.
Nikolas and the others exchanged a glance, revealing a hint of a smile. The cunning man had his tricks up his sleeve!
Russell had completely fooled Charlotte!
Even if she helped the Pittman family secure the project, she wouldn’t gain anything!
Upon thinking of this, their mood instantly improved.
Outside the main gate, Charlotte asked, “Why did you act so foolishly and bet with them? Do you really trust me that much? I don’t even have confidence in myself!”
“Besides…” she continued, “the Spicurity Group’s project is highly sought-after, with countless people eyeing it. I don’t have any confidence. By doing this…”
“Don’t worry, you will succeed,” Quentin stared into her eyes and said, “Believe in yourself.”
Charlotte sighed, realizing that she had no other choice but to face it head-on. There was no turning back now!
“Alright, I’ll go back and prepare properly.”
“I currently have no connections and lack persuasive skills. I can’t compete with Nikolas and other rivals in any aspect.”
Quentin smiled and said, “I’m sure you’ll win.”
Seeing Quentin’s confident smile, a warm feeling and fighting spirit welled up within Charlotte.
“Let’s go pick up Theo and Janessa and bring them home.” Quentin stepped on the accelerator.
In Central Hospital.
“Mr. Lindsey, I have found the information you wanted. Currently, among all the corneas available in our hospital, the one that best matches your mother’s is from this little girl,” a doctor respectfully spoke to a middle-aged man. They both opened the door to the hospital room.
Janessa and Theo were feeling a bit scared.
These people didn’t seem like good people at first glance…
Their gaze was so frightening…
“Brother, I’m really scared…” Janessa’s voice trembled as she curled up.
“Don’t be afraid. I’ll protect you. I’m a little man, after all!” Theo’s young face was filled with determination.
“That girl over there,” the doctor smiled and said, “You can discuss it with their family…”
The middle-aged man had a rough and burly appearance, exuding a sinister and ruthless aura. “She’s the perfect match? Hmm, good! Then it’s her! My mother’s condition cannot be delayed any longer!”
“I’m taking her away!” he declared without hesitation.
Upon hearing this, Janessa’s slender body trembled in fear. “No… don’t take Janessa away… Janessa is scared! You look like a bad person. I don’t want to go with you…”
“You won’t bully my sister!” immediately, Theo tightly embraced Janessa, glaring fiercely at them. “If you dare to harm my sister, my father won’t let you get away with it…”
“Heh, nobody can change my mind.” Steven smirked with a disdainful expression. In Stresall, there was nobody he feared!
The doctor also appeared troubled. “Mr. Lindsey, this… this goes against the rules. Although I understand your anxiety, but…”
“Get lost!” Steven flung him away with one hand. “A petty doctor dares to babble in front of me! If you keep blabbering, I’ll kill you!”
The doctor trembled all over. He knew that these people before him were ruthless killers. He couldn’t afford to provoke them. And Steven, he held significant influence in their world. He never expected things to escalate to this point. If he had known, he wouldn’t have been greedy for that small referral fee. Now… he was in trouble!
Steven arrogantly declared, “If her family has any objections, they can talk to me! Regardless, I’ve set my sights on that girl’s eyes! If they’re smart, I might even compensate them with some money…”
“If they’re foolish and anger me, the only thing they’ll see is a corpse!”
He took out his phone and dialed a number. “Brother, we’ve found suitable eyes. I’ll be rushing back. Please have Mr. Oscar prepare for the surgery immediately!”
After putting away his phone, his expression turned cold, and he reached out directly for Janessa.
Janessa was scared, her face pale and devoid of color…
“You scoundrel, don’t you dare touch my sister!” Theo’s eyes turned red as he fiercely bit down on the back of Steven’s hand with all his strength…
