Rachelle’s POV
The jets of warm water cascading from the ceiling immediately relaxed my muscles and made me feel better afterwards. The first time I was introduced to this shower, I was terrified. I had turned the shower knob only to find water falling from the ceiling and covering a larger surface area than I was used to.
I was already used it anyway. The thing was that while I was in the shower, I thought that I had heard something or someone come into my room. I had to turn off the shower and tune into my werewolf hearing to try to find out of what I thought was what it was or if it was just a figment of my imagination.
I shuddered as my mind went back to the nightmares I sometimes had, causing me to wake up at the middle of the night. That was the reason Everett usually took a sleeping position beside me, to prevent the nightmares, and it always worked. Through the double sliding doors, I saw a blur of a shadow pass by. Immediately, I wrapped my towel around my person and opened the door to look outside.
I did, but there was no one in my bedroom.
“Hello!” I called out. “Who is it?”
Stupid were. I chided myself. If anyone was there, it was highly unlikely that they would answer me. I shook my head to clear my thoughts and went back into the bathroom…
… where I found out that I had already been freaked out so much that I could not stay in the bathroom for much longer. I finished my business and hurried out of the bath, not nothing to wrap my bathrobe around me. I was drying myself off when I saw it. The box on my bed.
I approached it carefully, like one would approach a wounded animal, just in case it was a package containing a bomb or something related.
As I got to it, I saw a note attached to the box.
Rachelle, my love,
I got this for you, as I had hoped that you would accompany me to some places later today, and then we would round the night up with dinner, and you wearing this dress. When I saw it, I thought of you, and afterwards, I knew that it would look even more perfect on you. That is, if you would join me to come along on this day (Yes, I am asking you out on a couple’s date). Please do not refuse me.
Love, your mate,
Alpha Everett Frenchman.
With a squeal and a tiny jump, I unboxed the dress and found the most lovely dress and shoes I had ever seen in my entire life. And I had seen a lot of beautiful dresses when I was in the blood moon pack, as I had been a slave and had seen a lot of the higher titled male and female were wolves in beautiful regalia, but none of them matched the one that my mate got for me.
It was a long dress with the color of gold, and it was one handed. The sleeve stopped where the shoulder did and it looked like it would hug my skin perfectly. Raising the dress to my body, I found out that the landing swept the ground and there was a long slit, one that would start from the top of my thigh to the ground. And normally, the kind of clothes that I had admired were not usually the bright, glittery ones, but the plain, simple ones.
But this dress looked like it had cost an arm and a half and yet I loved it, and the shoes! And why was he asking me again? I thought we had planned to have dinner together earlier? He is such a gentleman.
After I had dressed up, Everett called me on my phone and I picked it up with a smile.
“Did you see it? Did you see the dress that I had got for you?” He asked like a little excited toddler.
“Yes, yes, I did see it. It was very beautiful, and I loved it. But it looked very expensive, Everett. I would have been fine if I had just worn a simple dress, you know?”
“Only the best for my lady.” Everett replied, hesitating. “Or is it that you do not like the dress? I can get you another one, no problem.”
I laughed into the device in my hand.
“Everett, breathe, calm down. You do not have to do that, I love them.” I sighed.
“That is great. Are you ready?” He asked me.
“Ready? I thought you said dinner? Everett, this is still morning, you know?” I asked, the surprise seeping into my voice.
“Yes, yes. Dress up, we are going to an amusement park.” He said.
“An amusement park? But why?” I asked confused.
“Have you never been to an amusement park before?” He asked.
“Well, I have heard about it. But I have never been there. Is it interesting? How should I dress?” I asked, frantically going through some of the clothes Violet had brought for me after she had gone shopping.
“Dress casual. Do not bother about anything, you would look nice in whatever you wear.” He said, laughing.
“But, would a pair of jeans and a large top be okay? And do I have to wear flip flops or trainers?” I asked him while teasing him.
“Or high heels, maybe?”
“What?” He said shocked. “Anyone, but you should definitely not wear heels, take my advice.”
“Okay, thank you. Come pick me up from my room in ten minutes.” I sighed as I brought my clothes out, sorting through them and then I cut the call.
–
After about half and a quarter of an hour of riding in a car with Everett belting lyrics of a song that I did not know loudly in a car, making my ears almost bleed on the process, I had come to a valid conclusion.
Having a drool worthy, drop dead gorgeous face definitely does not guarantee a good singing voice. Or belting out the correct lyrics.
I knew that he was not singing with the correct lyrics because although, I could not identify the song that was playing, but I was not deaf too.
As we got to the amusement park, I thought I was going to fall over as I raised my eyes up so high to look at the tall rides.
“That is called a Ferris wheel. The one that is shaped like a wheel.” Everett said, poking my cheek afterwards.
“And that is a carousel. And a horse themed merry go round and even a cotton candy stand!” He said pointing.
“Woah. What about the Coaster rollers? I had heard someone talk about one of those before.” I sniffed, taking in the smell of sweet sugar.
“Coaster rollers?” Everett said, squinting his eyes. “Or, do you mean roller coaster?” He asked, looking at me.
I pushed his nose. “Whatever. Something like that I guess. Can we go on that first?”
“It’s that one over there.” He pointed to a blue rude with lots of sliding things. “And behind that is the death drop. Let us go and get some tickets first, and then we would do that.” Everett said, pulling me with him.
While we were on the Ferris wheel, I got frightened as I had never knew that I had a fear of heights. All the punishments meted to me by the Alpha of the Blood moon pack and his children were usually on the floor, or on a small platform.
“Breathe easy, Rachelle. Here, just squeeze my hand.” Everett said and I obeyed him, still breathing erratically.
“Here. Come here.” Everett said, holding my shoulder and pressing me to his side in a hug. “It is all okay.”
The ride began to move slowly, stopping when we got to the top.
“Rachelle, please look up.” Everett said, and I whimpered, pressing my face into his shoulder and inhaling his scent.
“It is okay, we have stopped moving, just look up, it is lovely. For me?” He asked in a cute voice and then just because of him, I raised my head and looked around.
We were high at the top of the wheel, and everything looked so tiny from up there. I could see places that seemed far away and I felt like a giant before a city full of tiny babies and baby sized homes and toy like vegetation.
“It is so very beautiful. But I am still scared.” I said looking outside and then I heard a click from behind me.
I turned around to see Everett putting his phone down with a cheeky grin. Then he raised his head up and saw me looking at him with a glare.
“What?” He shrugged. “I am allowed to take a picture when my mate looks so breathtaking. Aren’t I?” Then he pulled the puppy eyes.
I giggled. “Yes, yes you are my lobe. I was only surprised, that’s all.”
He raised his phone and began to scroll through it.
“This is so beautiful.” He said and then I heard another click. He had just taken another picture. He tricked me!
“I thought you were looking at photos.” I hit his arm.
“You looked too beautiful for me to not take a picture.” He said and my face heated up. I moved to hit him even more and that was when our seat carriage cubicle thingy began to shake. With a shriek, I moved to Everett and held him tight.
“Shh, it is all okay, just don’t move too much and the shaking would subside. Okay?” He said as I placed my head into his shoulder and he began to pat my hair in soothing up and down motions.
“See?” He released me and held my face. “We are already moving down, so calm down, okay. Very soon we will go off from here.” Everett said to me with a worried look.
“If only I had known that you would not like things like this, I would have just taken you to an arcade or something else.”
“No, Everett. This is okay, it is perfect. I love it, I was just being a baby because I like it that way sometimes.” I said hurriedly, not wanting him to feel bad. And as if to prove it, I raised my head and looked out of the cubicle.
“Everything is so beautiful, Everett. Look!” I said with a big smile on my face as I turned to Everett, urging to look.
I had a big smile on my face, but inwardly, I felt sick and I hoped that the Ferris wheel would come to a stop for us to drop, if not, I would have probably puked all over the place.
Ew, vomit.
“Let us go to the horse themed merry go round. And after that, we would have you go to take some cotton candy! Do you like sweet things?” He asked me, wiggling his brows.
“Yes, you perv. I like sweet things, but I’ve never tasted cotton candy before. It looks like something that I would love to try though.” I said.
“Then let us go to the horses and then, we go to the house of candy!” He exclaimed, clapping his hands like a child.
After we had gone on the horse rides, and then we had some cotton candy and tried some funny looking and tasting foods that I had never seen or heard of before.
Then I had finally convinced Everett to let me go on the ‘Death drop’ and ended up screaming my head off and other people’s heads off while Everett laughed at me.
And then afterwards, we had taken some pictures behind a weird cardboard wall, where I had been a dolphin, abs Everett, a shark.
And we had gone back home sometime around four in the evening after a day of fun, to rest.
