“So…. you brought me to a bar for a date?” I reclined in the metal chair and frowned, my index finger drawing circles in the liquor Kasan had just gotten me.
I originally thought that we were heading to a fancy restaurant or maybe even a simple tour somewhere… but not a fucking bar! Who brings their date to a bar? And not just any bar, but one filled with dozens of sweaty, stinky thugs!
Just because my family is filled with people of these sorts, doesn’t mean that I want my whole life centered around them! Any-fucking-where would’ve been ten times better than this!
“I own this place.” He chirped, pealing the serious expression off his face and sitting down with his million dollar smile now in place. He seemed to give others the cold shoulder, hence I’m not sure why he’s been sooo… well… not ‘nice’, but lenient with me from the very first day we met. He did hurt my father and forced me into a position I didn’t want to be in, but he has never hurt me nor has he ever threatened me whenever I was being defiant. Was it love at first sight? Or just his way of getting under my skirt back then?
“I never asked.” Sliding my liquor glass over towards him, I placed my elbow atop the wooden table and dropped my chin against my fist, a bored expression dispersing over my face. I’m so freaking bored that I’m not even in the mood to drink.
“If I knew you were going to bring me to this dump, I wouldn’t have dressed like this. You ruined the date before it even started! Why on earth didn’t I just stay home?” I grumbled the last bit, but I’m pretty sure he heard me judging by the way his whole appearance suddenly became gloomy.
I immediately felt bad.
“Sorry.” I sighed. “But the other girls here are in booty shorts and leather bras while I look like I came out of a Disney cartoon. I’m the only odd one out.”
That was an attempt at soothing him a bit, but I soon realized that my words did quite the opposite.
Silly me.
“You…” His stern gaze bored into me. “… are not allowed to wear a–”
“Hey! Good to see you, boss! I thought you deserted this place!” A bulky guy came running over with a sickening grin on his lips, and dropped his hand on Kasan’s shoulder, briefly palming the flesh in greeting as he stared between us. I rolled my eyes.
I’m pretty sure I know this ‘unwanted disturbance’ from somewhere. Perhaps, Father has had a gunfight with him once before? His name is Gus, if I’m not wrong.
“You only brought one girl this time?” He said, obviously referring to me.
This time?
I sent a questioning glance over to Kasan and in response, he instantly shrugged Gus’s hand off his shoulder and shifted in his seat, avoiding eye contact with me at all costs.
So it’s true…. he brought girls here.
Awesome! Absolutely awesome!
I chuckled humorlessly, my glaring eyes following every movement he made as my nails clicked against the table one by one in annoyance.
“You’ve been taking good care of this place, I see. I take it you’ve finally found your sister?” Kasan grinned and as if I’m not there, they kick-started a long ass convo, both prying into each other’s business and chatting away like best friends who hadn’t seen each other in years.
The nerve!
“So boss…” Gus patted his dirty blond hair down whilst fixing his gaze on my figure, and I was close to puking when I saw him openly checking me out. “… won’t you give us a taste of this one?”
Say what now?
Silence immediately descended over the small space we resided in and it was almost impossible to not notice how chilling the air had become.
Gus however, seemed to think that that was a good sign for him continue speaking.
“What? Of course I’m not asking for the first go!” He held his hands up in surrender and chuckled, his creepy snake-like tongue wiggling out of his mouth then gliding over his bottom lip. “She’s pretty far from my type actually but I can certainly do well with the leftovers.”
Tsk. Wrong move mah boy…. wrong move.
With my annoyance at it’s peak, I slammed my palms against the table and was just about ready to give him a piece of my mind and then maybe a good hard taste of my fist, but the sudden sound of someone loading a gun stopped me in my tracks.
While Gus visibly drenched himself in sweat, I turned my head, and my gaze was met with an undeniably fuming Kasan. His eyes were as fierce as a raging bull and his nostrils were flaring in anger. He had that look…. the same ruthless look he had back when he threatened to blow my mom’s arm off.
My unamused eyes slowly travelled down to the gun he had in hand and was surprised to see that his index finger was actually threatening to press the trigger.
Seriously?
After bringing me to your usual fuck house, you have the nerve to get possessive? And you even think to shoot a guy dead right in front of me? I honestly don’t care whether he kills this guy on spot or not, but is this not a date? He should atleast have a little decency, right?
How ludicrous and utterly unattractive.
I rolled my eyes, plopping my ass back in the seat as my adrenaline quickly died out. “You can spill blood right here or take this dispute outside, either way I’m out. You’ve already ruined this enough…. Anyway–” With a raised brow, I glanced over the countless sweaty bodies in the bar. “–who wants to give me a ride back?”
When my question was left pending for far too long, I sighed. “Fine. I’ll just wait until you finish up whatever you’re doing.”
I pushed my chair back before swiveling it in another direction, determined to look anywhere else but at that nonsensical dickhead.
It went silent for a good ten seconds then a few sharp words filled the air, “I’ll deal with you later.”
That was obviously directed at Gus. To think they were actually having a decent conversation before all this.
“Get out… All of you!” His boisterous command had every single person –man and woman– running out of there as if their asses were on fire. Of course, Gus was the first to make it out.
In seconds, the room was void of everyone… except for him and I.
UNKNOWN’S POV:
“Boss, we’ve gotten intel that he has brought a woman back with him, she’s said to be Robby’s daughter… It’s been a while since then and he’s kept her alive and well.”
A woman?
So it’s begun, huh? It’s finally his turn…
Grinning, I rocked back and forth on the wooden chair as one my most trusted men took a seat at the other end of the desk, the excitement and readiness in his eyes the same as my own. “I think it’s time to set our plans in motion, don’t you think? Bring in ‘The Nightwalker’.”
“That has already been dealt with.” He mirrored my grin. “The nightwalker is making preparations as we speak. He will certainly not suspect anything, trust me.”
“Good. Then it won’t be long before he’s finally ruined… for good.”
…….
…….
NOTE: ‘The Nightwalker’ does not refer to a vampire or any other supernatural creature. It is simply a code name 🙂 Thanks for reading. Don’t forget to leave feedback!
