They were all gathered in the common room waiting for Silver and Hayden. Jerald walked in with the both of them.
“You were the ones who called for this meeting and you’re both late. What took you so long?” Thomas asked them.
“It doesn’t matter, what matters is that we’re here now.” Hayden said with a glare.
“Go ahead, tell us what you saw.”
“I saw a… vision I think. There was a cave filled with Silver, seems like the same one I was born in. Then I saw a lake that was shimmering beneath the light of a half moon so the next part of this quest must be here, in the half moon pack.” Silver said.
“As usual, our lives depend on yet another assumption. Where are we going to find a sparkling lake for crying out loud?” Raymond scowled.
“I know one.” A she wolf said as she stepped into the room.
It was Lynn, Jerald’s sister.
“Lynn, what are you doing here? I gave specific instructions that we were not to be disturbed.” Jerald said with a frown.
“I’m not just anyone. Stop treating me like a child just because you’re older than me, I can help.”
“I see you’re still as stubborn as a mule, Lynn.” Vance said with a smile as he walked up to her.
Lynn squealed as Vance lifted her and twirled with her in his arms.
“Put me down, Vance. I’m trying to look mature here, and you’re ruining my credibility.” Lynn said and Vance chuckled as he set her down.
“I missed you, little spitfire.” Vance said as he kissed her cheeks.
“You only miss getting on my nerves all the time, Vance.” Lynn rolled her eyes.
“You look so cute when you’re angry, it’s hard to desist from getting you all worked up.” Vance said as he pulled her cheeks.
“We aren’t here for sappy reunions.” Keith scowled.
“You’re always so uptight.” Vance huffed as he walked back to his seat.
“Leave, Lynn. I’m not letting you get involved in any of this, it’s too dangerous.” Jerald said.
“I can handle myself, brother. Stop being so paranoid.” Lynn huffed and folded her arms.
“If she has valuable information, then let her speak. It’s not like we’re headed into battle right now.” Margaret said.
“Fine. You can stay, Lynn.” Jerald sighed and Lynn smiled as she moved to give Margaret a kiss on the cheek.
“Okay, back to what I was saying. I know a lake that glows and strangely, it only does that when it’s a half moon, it must be the lake you’re looking for.” Lynn said.
“Where is this lake? And how do I not know about it?” Jerald asked.
“It’s the lake at the boundary between our pack and the wild lands.” She replied to him.
“I’ve been to that lake several times, I’ve never seen it glow.” Jerald said.
“You’ve never been there on a half moon night, it literally sparkles.”
“At least we have a lead now. Are there any caves around there?” Carson asked.
“Not that I know of. But there are some rock formations around it, maybe there’s a cave within one of them.” She replied to him.
“There will be a half moon tomorrow, we can check it out then.” Lynn said.
“We don’t need to wait, we can go now to explore those rocks you talked about and make sure the cave is really there.” Raymond said.
“I don’t think we should. Remember the last time, we were only able to locate the gem when the full moon was out. It may be the same with this one. It’s all tied to the phases of the moon, we’ll go tomorrow night.” Thomas said.
“Before then, you’re free to move around the pack. Rooms will be prepared for you in the pack house before nightfall.” Jerald said.
“I can’t wait to explore.” Carson stood with a smirk.
“Don’t you dare fool around in my pack.” Jerald growled as he moved closer to Carson with a warning.
“Chill dude. If the ladies decide they want a piece of me, who am I to refuse?”
“I will lock you up in a bloody cell if that’s what it will take for you to keep it in your pants. Have some self control and self respect for once in your damn life. This is my pack, do not disrespect me or take my hospitality for granted.” Jerald growled.
“He’s right, Carson.” Thomas said and Carson huffed.
“Fine. You all are so boring.” Carson said and then walked out.

THE NEXT DAY
~
“I think we should shift and run there instead of taking cars. It will be faster that way.” Lynn said as they all stepped outside the pack house.
“Going in human form is better. What we may face there may require the use of hands not paws.” Thomas said.
“Okay then, two vehicles will be enough for all of us.” Jerald said and they split into two teams of five.
After driving for almost an hour, they finally arrived at the lake just before dusk fell.
“The lake looks normal to me, why isn’t it glowing.” Carson asked.
“It’s almost dark but the moon isn’t out yet, we’re a bit early. All the times I came here, it glowed when the moon was out.” Lynn replied.
“Then we still have a little time to check out the rock formations and find the exact cave Silver saw in her vision.”
“Or we just wait for the moon. The last time, we were only able to find the location when the moon was out. Maybe it will illuminate the path we should take or something like that. Who knows.”
“Which do we do, wait or leave now?” Raymond asked.
They didn’t get to decide because the lake began to glow as the moon came out from the clouds that had been obscuring it.
“Wow!” Margaret said.
“Yeah, it’s beautiful.” Jerald said as he stared at the shimmering lake.
“No, not the lake. Your sister, she’s… glowing.”
