After the long wait putting Mike in jail has finally came. I saw how relieved Anna and uncle Arthur for getting justice they have been waiting for so long.
Anna slapped Mike angrily and I knew she needs to bent out her anger.
He was caught up of the crime he did and it’s time he must pay for it. When everything were settled at the police station we headed out for lunch.
We were having lunch when Anna’s phone rang. She pick up the call.
“Hello Jerome.” Then there was a silence.
“Okay. I’ll see you in my office after lunch.”
Then she hanged up the call.
“Is that Jerome?” Uncle Arthur asked.
“Yes dad, he is back and I’ll meet him at the office after lunch.” She replied.
“Good… Tell him to have dinner with us later.” Uncle Arthur told her.
“I’m sure he is okay with the idea.”
I put a portion of meat in her plate.
“Have some babe. You need to eat.” I told her
“Thank you babe.” She smiled.
“I’ll dropped you in your office after lunch then I’ll send mom back to the mansion.” I told her.
“You don’t have to send me home son. I have my car. Our driver will drive me home.” My mom insisted.
“Are you sure Mrs. Kate?” Anna asked.
“Yes sweetheart you have nothing to worry about.” Mom replied.
Then my phone rang and I picked it up on the table where I put it.
“Hello.”
“Hi baby, where are you?” Elle asked.
“Elle why did you call?
“Why are you asking me? Do I need to have permission to call you?” She asked angrily.
“It’s not like that Elle. We need to talk.”
“What is wrong with you Denyx? Why are you so distance these days?”
“Elle please can you talk later? Not now okay?”
“Okay fine! I will come to your office this afternoon.”
“That’s a good idea. We need to talk personally.”
“Okay then baby I’ll see you.” She ended the call.
“Who was that Elle?” Mom asked.
“Yes, mom it was her. I need to talk to her this afternoon babe. I want to let her know that we are officially on.” I looked at Anna for her permission.
“It’s alright babe if you need to talk to her am okay with it.”
“I will drop you off then I will be going to my office.”
We finished our lunch and I called for the bill to pay.
“Our bill please.”
“Right away sir.” The staff said.
I paid our bill and mom left with her driver then uncle Arthur left with his driver too.
I drove Anna back to her office. And on our way she asked.
“How long have you known Elle?”
“She was my friend since you were there so it’s been two decades.”
“Wow! That’s quite long.”
“Yes, it is indeed but she always think that I will marry her which it won’t gonna happen.”
“I’m sorry to hear that, I didn’t mean to hurt her this way.”
I touched her left hand and kissed it.
“Don’t be sorry about it babe. I treat her as my friend not more than that. We often see each other since we were young because of our parents. I don’t have any other intentions asides being her friend.” I explained.
“What if she will get mad with me if she finds out about us?”
“That’s not our problem anymore because I never told her that I love her.” I am very clear with it since we were young.”
She took a deep breath and remained silent. So I asked her.
“So how about you and Jerome?”
“Jerome and I were become friends when I moved to Boston where her mother was my personal nurse. We both went to the same school. We are close like brother and sister. Everyone thought that something is special between us but no, we are just friends and when Liza came to our lives that’s the time they gave up their thoughts about Jerome and I having a relationship.” She explained
“I see you and him are actually very close. He even left his career for your helping you.”
“Yes, we were close but this business job is just temporary for him. Now that I got justice he can go back to his real world even I will miss him a lot.”
“I can imagine that. Thanks to him for being your courage when I wasn’t around especially for taking care of you. I owed him that.” I told her.
“He is like a brother to me and Liza his girlfriend is like my sister.”
“So he has a girlfriend?”
“Yeah, Liza and Jerome become officially on before our college graduation and until now they kept their relationship strong.”
“Well you and I will gonna build a new life together again. I promised I will make up with you for so many years I’ve lost you.”
“It’s okay babe at least we have each other’s back again.” She said smiling and I kissed her hand once again.
When we reached the Johnson’s company I parked the car in the front and face her before she get off the car.
“Babe, trust me okay? I won’t hurt you and trust me for this okay?”
She faced me and smiled.
“I trust you. I wish everything will turn out well after you inform her about us.”
I kissed her on her lips and get out of the car and opened the door for her.
“Thank you.” She said.
“I’ll be back later and pick up you okay?” I told her.
“It’s okay you don’t have to. Mr. Grey is here with me. Please take your time. I know you have so many things to do. Thank you anyway.”
“Alright, I’ll see you after your dinner with Jerome and uncle Arthur?” I asked.
“Yes, I will be back in my apartment soon. I will let you know.” She replied.
I gave her a kissed on her cheek and left then I come back to my office at Moore Corporation.
When I reached to my office I parked my car and went up to my office. Alex was there waiting for me.
“Good afternoon sir. Elle is in your office. She insisted to wait inside while you’re not yet here.”
“It’s okay Alex I actually called her to come here. I need to clear something to her.” I tapped Alex left shoulder with my right hand and opened my office door.
Elle was sitting on the reading a magazine when I get inside my office. She looked up and smiled.
“Hi baby you’re finally here.” She put the magazine on the table and stood up.
“Just sit Elle. It won’t take us long to talk.” I told her and she sat on the couch again.
I walked to the chair opposite to her and sat down.
“So what is it that you want to talk about?” She asked excitedly.
“Elle you have to stop acting like we are into a relationship. I am in love with Anna and she is alive.”
“What?” She stood up furiously.
“Yes, she is alive and Chloe is actually Anna.”
“You’re insane Denyx. How could you say such thing?” She shouted
“Can you lower your voice Elle? Actually Chloe is Anna. Long time ago uncle Arthur hid Anna for her safety because the accident wasn’t just an incident it was planned and behind all those things was Mike’s plan my step father.” I explained to her.
“Oh my gosh! And what about us?” She asked sadly.
“I’m sorry to disappoint you Elle but from the beginning you knew that you’re my friend and that’s not gonna change anything for us.”
The tears fell on her face. I felt pity for her but she deserved to know the truth as my friend even it hurts seeing her crying.
“I can’t believed you chose her over me Denyx. I was been with you when she wasn’t. I am here all along with you. and now your ditching me because of her.”
“Elle believe me it was never my intention to hurt you. I will always be here as your friend.”
“Denyx I don’t want you as my friend because I love you.” She confessed.
“I’m sorry Elle I’ve been loving only one woman and that’s Anna.”
” I assured you that you’ll gonna regret it Denyx.” She grabbed her bag on the table and ran outside my office crying.
“Elle please wait!” I called her but she ran and never look back.
I sat on the chair again facepalms. I took a deep breath.
“I hope you will understand someday Elle that I never love anyone except Anna.” I murmured to my self.
Then I heard a knocked on the door where Alex came inside and asked.
“Does everything okay sir?”
“Yes Alex, I’m fine.”
“Sorry I just saw Ms. Elle crying while walking away.”
“She just need time to absorb everything Alex. I told her that Anna is alive and I love her. I know it could hurt Elle but she needs to know the truth rather than expecting for something that isn’t for her.”
“I understood sir. If you’ll excuse me I’ll go back to my office.”
“Okay Alex, but before you leave take a week off because you’ve been very busy these days.”
“Really sir? But how about you?”
“I’m fine. I will be taking Anna for a surprise holiday this week so I won’t needed you that much. You can have a full week holiday with your family too.”
“Thank you sir my family will be very happy to know.”
“But arrange my private jet today for tomorrow afternoon. Tell the pilot and the entire crew to prepare, I will be taking Anna to my private Island.”
“Yes sir, I will call the pilot and his crew to be prepared.”
“Thank you Alex and have fun with your family then. You don’t have to report tomorrow.”
“Okay sir. Thank you.” Alex said and he closed the door as he left.
I will be taking Anna for a surprise holiday tomorrow.
