I was having a blissfull time kissing Alexander until he slowed down the kiss and slowly pulled back. My lips tingled for a few seconds and I felt slightly dazed.
He stared at my lips for a few more seconds before looking up at me with a sigh.
“I should tell you too,” Alexander said in his low voice and I furrowed my eyebrows.
“Tell me what?” I asked and tilted my head.
“Its only fair,” Alexander said ignoring me.
I had no idea what he was talking about. But I really didn’t want to know and I just wanted to kiss him. Was that too much to ask for?
Apparently so.
“About Rebecca,” Alexander finally said and it clicked. I stared at him in shock for a second but quickly concealed it.
How could I forget. He didn’t know that I knew what had happened. He was drunk that night and when he was sober, he had forgotten the conversation.
I saw struggle on Alexanders face and I couldn’t help but frown and feel bad. I was making him remember the shady parts of the past and it made me feel guilty.
“No,” I jumped in. and shook my head as Alexander solemnly glanced at me.
I’d just tell him I knew and save the trouble. Save him the memories.
I leaned in close and shook my head, looking into his dark eyes.
“Don’t say anything. I already know,” I whispered and glanced down at his lips.
Alexander didn’t say anything for a second. However he then roughly made me look at him and I held my breath.
“You know?” he repeated with squinted eyes, “-how do you know?” he said harshly and I sighed.
“Your trust in me is thrilling,” I stated dryly, “-that night I came to your place. You were drunk and well… you began talking,” I shrugged it off. However Alexander still looked mad.
“And what? You didn’t bother telling me?” Alexander said sounding pissed off. As attractive as he looked even when he was angry I concentrated on what he was saying.
“Its not my fault you drank so much that you forgot, now is it?” I said equally mad. His sudden change in mood was making me both angry and confused.
“Why are you getting so angry anyway?” I asked as I angrily snatched his glass and drank from it, slamming it back down on the table.
“Its not everyday people know about my past. About what happened,” he gritted and I sighed.
“Yes. That’s true. But you might want to calm down before I get angry as well,” I said solidly and glanced up at Alexander.
He didn’t even flinch. Alexander wasn’t easily intimated or intimidated at all and that ticked me off sometimes.
“Victoria I think I should leave. My tempers rising and quite frankly, I don’t think I can control it,” He said. I didn’t say anything and simply watched him clench his jaw and make a move to leave.
I stood up and grabbed his hand before he could turn around.
“Are you mad at me?” I asked with furrowed eyebrows. We had just shared a moment earlier and I didn’t want him changing his mind.
Alexander stared into my eyes for a few seconds before shaking his head.
“No, not at you. I’m just mad. I’l see you tomorrow,” he abruptly said. I felt unsatisfied and frowned.
Alexander smirked and rolled his eyes. He leaned down and placed a kiss onto the side of my mouth.
With that, he chucked a hundred dollar bill onto the bars bench, near our drinks, and left.
I stood there with my hand bag limply dangling down my wrist. After a few seconds of non movement, I also began walking towards the bars doors.
Stepping out, the crisp air hit my skin and I shivered slightly as I made my way to where I parked my car.
Looking left and right, I frowned as I spotted many dusty old cars but not my shiny black one.
“You have got to be kidding me,” I gritted to myself as I thought of all the possibilities of where it could possibly be.
Pulling out my car keys I pressed down onto the open button. I heard the noise of an unlocked car and my head snapped to the left.
I followed where the noise had come from but was careful as it was almost dark. I was headed to behind the bar and suddenly I became cautious.
The area was silent. To silent. Pulling out my phone I switched on my location. Again, I took pride in my cautiousness that’s why, I even began to dial Alexander.
On the second ring he picked up.
“Alexander, I think-”
Just as I began talking, the phone was unexpectedly snatched out of my hand and I was pushed onto the ground. I landed on my knees, and my palms were facing the soil and I couldn’t help but let out a little startled cry.
I turned my head around to see a bulk man facing my phones screen towards me as he ended the call and shoved the device into his back pocket.
“What the hell!” I shouted as I turned onto my back. I tried to get up but the man pushed me down with his feet.
“This?” the man laughed out, “-this is what shes threatened by?” He said in a humorous tone.
I clenched my teeth and slowly stood up and steadied myself on two feet.
“I certainly hope you aren’t insulting me,” I said, intensely glaring at the big bald man. He rolled his sleeves up and took a step forward as I stood my ground.
“I most certainly am,” he mused, “-surely Catelyn can dispose of you by herself. But I guess she really wants to scare you,” he said most likely expecting me to stutter in fear.
“Surely Catelyn can dispose of me? Are you sure about that?” I gritted.
“We’ll just see. Now follow me. Shes waiting,” the man said now in a bored tone. He turned around and began walking towards a black four wheel drive.
Surely he hadn’t really expected me to follow?
When he didn’t hear any footsteps following him, the man spun around and his eyes solemnly landed onto me.
“Don’t make me force you,” the man said coldly.
“Oh I’m so afraid!” I shouted in sarcasm as I squinted my eyes.
The man clenched his jaw and his eyes zoomed onto me. Without wasting another second, he began stomping towards me.
I didn’t dare move and stood my ground. Just as the man was about a meter away from me, he reached out to grab my arm.
In a fast motion, I moved to the right and mustered up the strength to punch the man in the gut.
Immediately his hand clutched the area and all he did was clench his jaw
I ignored the light pain in my knuckles due to the rock hard surface under his shirt.
“That was impressive. It might actually leave a bruise,” the man said in all seriousness as he rubbed the spot.
His words made me mad. I did plenty of training and classes for moments like these. I wouldn’t go down with just a single man.
The man advanced for me again and I let him grab my arms to drag memaking him believe now he’d simply pull me to the car.
However just as he began pulling me, I bent my hands and grabbed his arms also, yanking them downwards and twisting them outwards.
Before he could use his strength to regain posture and gain power over me again, I kneed him in the lower region.
Yes. I kneed him there.
This time he didn’t simply clench his jaw and rub the area.
He let out a loud groan and leaned down, resting on one knee as he shielded his lower region.
“Sweet lord,” he grunted and I smirked, dusting my hands.
“Tell Catelyn to back off,” I stated, “-before its too late,” I added and began walking away.
However only a few steps later there was a click, and a gruff voice.
“I said, follow me.”
I sighed and didn’t turn around for a second.
Don’t you dare have a gun. I thought to myself roughly.
Sure, I could go up against a man and many more, but a gun? I wasn’t exactly compatible against that.
I slowly turned around and wasn’t the least bit surprised when I saw the man slowly stand up and pull out a small hand gun.
I squinted my eyes and clenched my fists. My heels dug into the soil as I glared at him.
“Go ahead,” I stated furiously, “-I dare you.”
The man actually chuckled and looked at me with honest eyes.
“You know, I’m one of the good guys. However Catelyn told me what you did,” he said and suddenly his expression changed to a dark one.
“-and I don’t kill the good ones. But I won’t hesitate to kill the bad ones. The bad ones who murder the good ones.”
His words were clearly directed at me. However I couldn’t help but think this man was perfectly describing Catelyn and the others. The last sentence, that is.
“So she made it out like I’m the bad guy?” I mumbled more to myself.
Catelyn was up to her usual tricks. She obviously hired this man and made him believe wrong.
“Don’t bother lying. Now follow me.”
I still didn’t move. The man pointed the gun down towards my feet and fired a bullet right between my heels.
I didn’t flinch.
I didn’t blink.
I was used to that sound.
My eyes stayed on his and the mans eyebrows furrowed. However he aimed the gun higher this time.
“Get in the car now!” he shouted loudly and I sighed.
I began walking towards him and then towards the car. The man followed and kept the gun at my head.
Maybe if I went I could get Catelyn out of the way.
Though, I just hoped Alexander was smart enough to figure out something was up.
