“So what do you say?” Dark asked.
“I’m in Dark,” Adalinda uses her good eye to look at him. “Now can you get me out of this chain, it’s been years Dark and I am inching all over to come out of this stupid room your lover put me in. I am grateful to myself for not going insane while inside this room. Seeing this wall day after all makes me want to strangle this witch but the thought of seeing you first then kill you before her keeps me from going ahead because to remove these chains from me I would have to use your blood.” She added.
“Queen is not my lover, I have someone already in my mind.”
“Whatever,” Adalinda snorted.
Dark grinned and touched Gon on his shoulder who left his shoulder and flew towards Adalinda, landing on her head and breath out fire through his nostrils which quickly engulf the entire chains around Adalinda and the ashes all disperse into thin air and it flew back to rest on Dark’s shoulder once again.
Adalinda stretches her body as she ignores the Witch outstretched towards her.
“So now that this is gone,” she gestured to the place the chains, now empty, are. “What’s next? Where is Hydra?”
“We need to make one more stop at the vampire kingdom. Queen will have to take care of the armies with her own, so get your armies prepared,” Dark said, turning to face the Witch Queen, bringing her hand down to her side, “The thing is, neither Hydra nor Amaya will expect my armies to have magic. So your armies are going to use every spell they have to fight against the wolves and vampires. This battle will be tough.”
“I will take care of Hydra, leave my sister to me Dark.”
“That’s why I came here to meet you. Apart from me you are the only one who knows how to defeat Hydra, you will know her weak spot.” Dark said to Adalinda. “Raziah and the others will be taken care of by me and my dragon.” he added with a sly grin.
“So why are we going to the Vampire Kingdom?” Adalinda asks.
“Because I will also need his help. I need all the help I can.”
“We are enough for this war, in fact, I am enough for this alone, we shouldn’t bring others that will die.” Adalinda said dismissing the witch Queen like a leper.
“Adalinda things have changed a lot and do not underestimate your sister. She is now friends with Amaya and Belphagor and if I am not wrong they will soon be working hand to hand with the rest of the Princes of Darkness. So this is not about you or your fight with your sister. I will be focus on my Raziah and I will be leaving the rest to you and Queen and Jold.” Dark told her.
Adalinda didn’t argue because she knew Dark was spitting out facts.
“Then let’s go, we shouldn’t keep anyone waiting.” Adalinda said heading towards the stairs she had been seeing for a long time, passing Dark. Finally, it’s her freedom.
“Adalinda, can you still summon your Dragon? I mean since Hydra placed her poison on you and you’ve locked down here for a long time.” Dark said which stopped Adalinda in her stride. “You haven’t changed to your dragon and the scent of your dragon is almost gone.”
Adalinda turns to look at Dark and grin at him.
“I hope you are not offended? I just need to ask to be sure.”
“My dragon is still with me Dark, you should have no fear, also, I wouldn’t have said Hydra is mine if I have no dragon.”
Returning her grin with one of his own, “I just want to be sure Adalinda. I have no worries now.” Dark said.
“You don’t have to because I will be flying myself, my dragon has longed to fly and feel the air around her and I won’t be denying her. She is eager,” Adalinda said to him. “And as for the scent of my dragon, I did that on purpose thinking I will take you by surprise when I attack you whenever you have decided to visit me. It will give me some points and make you think Hydra poison really affected me.” she added, her grin growing wider on her beautiful scarred face. Then her grin was gone to be replaced with a frown. “I intend to use it against Hydra.”
Dark nodded his head. If not that Adalinda had told him now that her dragon was still part of her, he could have truly thought Hydra poisoned had really gotten to her but then again, he would have think if Hydra hadn’t done him anything and if Gon could remove it then somehow Adalinda could have managed it.
“Back then I could not stop Hydra poison and it was because of you I got saved,” Adalinda said as if she was reading his mind. “But now…” she left her words hanging and turned once again, one of her legs at the last staircase.
“But now?” Queen asked before Dark could ask.
“Now,” Adalinda said, climbing the stairs one at a time. “Now I know how to use her poison against her.” she answered and was soon out of sight.
Dark and Queen went after her and couldn’t see her in the throne room, the only clue that shows the was truly in the throne room was the open oak door. He ran out of the throne room and headed for the courtyard and found her outside, stretching her arms and lifting up her face to look at the sky. She ignored the faces of the warriors in front of her who were staring at her and wondering where she’d come out from. She turned to face Dark and smiled at him.
“I think I still remember the way that led to the Vampire Kingdom.” she told him and without waiting for his reply, she jumped into the air and transformed into her dragon mid-air. It was so fast and the very sight of her big and large red dragon was enticing to see.
Adalinda spread out her wings as far as she could and gave out a mighty roar and began to fly around the palace.
“I will prepare my warriors Dark,” The Witch Queen said, touching Dark arms. “Where do you want me to come with them?” she asked.
“We will come back, just get everyone ready.” Dark answered and surprised the Witch Queen by kissing her forehead softly. “I appreciate your help Queen, I really do.” he added once he removed his lips from her forehead and smiled down at her.
The Witch Queen returned his smile.
“I am happy to help with the little way I can Dark. You helped me also and now I am returning the favor.” The Witch Queen said wishing Dark had kissed her in her lips instead of her forehead. She had been in love with the demon for as long as she could remember and that was when they met. Dark had continued to turn down her advances until the day of the incident, she had blamed Dark for her misfortune that had befallen her, if not that she went in search of him, she wouldn’t have lost one of her eyes. That was why when Raziah had come and spoke about Dark, she had lied about him to her, plus the rumors she had been hearing about Dark conquering Raziah. She wished she was in Raziah’s place, she would gladly become Dark’s slave. But today, it finally dawned on her that her love story with Dark is a one sided love story. It is time for her to face reality that Dark can never be hers.
