The witch warriors had no choice than to choose their lives because this was Dark and secondly, they hadn’t seen a dragon talk before. They had heard stories of the destroyed dragon kingdom but no one made mention of any dragon’s talking.
Dark walked past the witch warriors as he headed inside the palace, walking towards the throne room like he owned the place.
The dragons flying upwards all shrink down their sizes and enter Gon’s body immediately. Gon shrinks his size and flies to meet his brother, landing on one of his shoulders, resting and curling his tail around Dark’s neck.
Dark pushed the large Oak door open as the two witches guarding the door didn’t make any attempt to stop him. He entered and saw the Witch Queen standing beside her throne chair, glaring right at him with her eye.
“Threatening my people is against the rule here Dark, you of all people should know that.” She told him.
“Ah, I must have left the rules with you then.” Dark utter.
“What do you want? Why are you here? Last I remember you have no business with me or my kingdom so what brings you here?” The Witch Queen demanded.
“I know you must have heard what happened to Raziah,” Dark began, clearing his throat to continue. “You must have heard.”
The Witch Queen snorted. “Yes, I heard but her business is none of my business Dark, it is her fault what befell on her and not mine. I thought she was a strong warrior and fighter and it baffles me that she was defeated with a snap of a finger.” she said, snapping her index and thumb finger together to make a sound and what she meant.
Dark growls. “You weren’t there, she was deceived and betrayed by those around her.”
“Like I said before, it’s none of my business,” the Witch Queen said and walked closer to meet Dark. “Again I ask, why are you here? Don’t make me repeat that question a third time.” she added in warning.
Dark scoff, “And if I do, what are you going to do?”
The Witch Queen stared at Dark with anger in her eye, it was hot, but that didn’t faze Dark one bit. She turned her back at him, her hands curled up in a tight fist.
“Why are you here, please.” She gritted out the words out as if they were hurting her, especially the part when she said ‘Please’.
Dark smiled and covered the distance between them, resting his head on one of her shoulders. “Now you are talking,” he said, his hot breath sending shivers down her spine. He walked backwards, putting space between them then stopped once there was enough gap between them.
“I want your help, Queen,” Dark began. “And you are not going to say no.”
“I am not helping you no matter what you say or do. Your threats don’t move me Dark, you should know that.” The Witch Queen said.
“I learnt that my mate came here before the unfortunate happened to her. She asked you for help and you gave her wrong stories about me, if not for the past we both had I would have killed you.”
“That she did and since you are not her, I won’t be rendering my services to you.” The Witch Queen said. “I am not helping you.”
“I shouldn’t waste your time then, you know why I am here, you could have seen it right?”
“When it comes to you, I am physically and spiritually blind and you fully know that Dark. The reason why I knew of your coming and set my armies ready was because I could smell your irritating scent and that of your dragon immediately you entered my kingdom.”
“You accepted Raziah offer to fight and kill me when she made you the deal but you’ve forgotten what happened between us Queen,”
“I haven’t forgotten what you did to me,” The Witch Queen said and flipped the hair at the other side of her damaged eye and pointed at it. “You did this to me.”
“Agreed, but you lied to Raziah of how your eye got destroyed. I know everything Queen, you planted more hatred for her towards me,” Dark said and took a deep breath and breathed out. “I would have dealt with you but I needed to take care of Raziah, of my mate before anything. And now she is gone and out of my grip.” he added.
“Your mate?” The Witch Queen laughed out loud and stopped then she turned to face him with raised brows. “I never thought I would see the day you would choose anyone as your mate. Never saw this with you nor Raziah.” she added, smiling up at him.
“She is mine and mine alone Queen, now since you don’t want to help me,” Dark said and slowly stretched out one of his arms towards her. “Give me back what I gave you years ago, Queen, return it, all of it.” he added, looking deadpan at her.
The Witch Queen smile faded away. “So you are now blackmailing me?”
“No, you refuse to help. There is a big war coming, Queen and I am using all the options I have. You cannot escape this, I need you and her.” Dark told her.
The Witch Queen glared at him. “I will help you, Dark.”
“It’s too late now,” Dark said. “When I came here I needed only you but you just made me remember why I gave you that eye.” He added and moved closer to her, removing the hair blocking the closed damaged eye. “Open it.” he whispered.
The Witch Queen did as told and opened, the rotten surface of her eye peered open and it stared at Dark, no, glared at him. They were pitch dark and the Iris was a bit red.
“Happy?” She snapped.
“I gave you something as a gift and you went ahead to tell half baked stories to my mate. So I think it’s high time I took back what I gave you because truly, they don’t belong to you.”
The Witch Queen shifted away from him. “I am sorry I lied to Raziah, I will tell her the truth once I see her, plus, I will be fighting alongside you with her.” Everything she told Raziah about what Dark had done to her was a lie. She and Dark have a past history which she doesn’t want to open.
Dark smiled. “See it wasn’t so hard, must you and your people always wait until you are either threatened or blackmailed before you do what they were begging you for at first?” he asked and didn’t wait for her answer, he continued. “Now that you’ve agreed, I need to see her.”
“I have been taking care of her,” The Witch Queen began as she walked towards the oak door and waved one of her hands towards it casting a spell which sealed the door and went to her throne chair, touching the ground underneath the chair and it started turning around slowly. Once the throne chair had fully turned to the other side, it revealed a staircase which led to darkness. The Witch Queen entered first then Dark followed her. She muttered a magic word and the fire shone brightly from her palm, lightening up the way as they entered an underground room which had an occupant, chained.
The occupant, a female, her back was on them and she didn’t turn to look at her visitors. She was sitting down on the floor, her hands and legs chained.
“It’s not yet time for my bath or food Queen, so…?” she left her words hanging.
Queen cleared her throat and opened her mouth to reply to her but Dark beat her first.
“It’s a shame that your power is fading that you wouldn’t know of my presence, being locked down here has messed up your brain.”
“I choose to Ignore you.” She turned slightly and the fire from the Witch Queen’s hands could only see a bit of her face.
“I am here, I need your help.” Dark told her going straight to the point.
The woman laughed and stopped. “I should help you? Do you hear yourself Dark, the almighty Dark coming to beg me years later.” she said. “Have you forgotten how you took my eye and gave it to this wretched witch here and confined me here in this stupid room. I don’t know how many days or years have gone by but I have been here and never have you visited me and when you did you came asking for my help, do I look like a joke to you?” She asked angrily.
Dark chuckled. “I didn’t come here to beg you to fight my battle, I came here to inform you that after so many years of searching, I found her, the one that betrayed you, the one who destroyed the kingdom, the one who destroyed everything, I have found Hydra, she is still alive.”
The woman who was sitting on the floor quickly stood up to her feet and turned to face Dark revealing her full face, her good eye widened in shock.
“Shock? I too was shocked when I discovered her. With her disguise you wouldn’t know she is the one.” Dark said. “So the ball is in your court.”
“Impossible.” she growled. “You’re lying.”
“Hydra is still alive.” Dark told her and moved closer to her until he was an arm reach. “Both of us know who truly destroyed everything, Adalinda.”
