Slade POV
The next day, every one of us gathered together and planned on how to take down Luciana, Her father, and Xavier. The blood moon never came which might shock a lot of vampires because they could use the blood moon to their advantage. A lot of the vampires believed it was their gateway to getting rid of the humans but all their plans got ruined when the moon refused to appear.
“The blood moon refused to show up last night which gives us an advantage,” Teale announced and we all nodded in agreement. “I’ve contacted my father already and they are almost here”
“How?” Daphne questioned.
“Haven’t you heard of a mobile phone?” Teale bought a phone from his pocket.
“I know what a phone is,” Daphne scoffed. “I’m just wondering why vampires need phones when they can hear from afar.”
“We need phones too to talk to the vampires that are not in this country and around us,” Kyle explained.
“So, you’ve contacted your father and he is on his way right?” Gabriella asked.
“Yes,” Teale answered.
I grabbed Gabriella and held onto it real tight and smiled at her. “Everything will be over soon,” I assured her.
“I can’t wait.” She responded.
One hour later, Teale’s father, Our Uncle Martin arrived with hundreds of humans. Teale was a replica of his father from their purple eyes to their oval-shaped face and height. The only difference between them was that Uncle Martin looked older. “Your father never contacted me after I was banished.”Uncle Martin explained to both Kyle and me as soon as he arrived. ” if he had informed me about the situation, I would have helped.”
That’s wasn’t an excuse. He must have heard the news about my mother’s death but he chose to ignore it because he hated my father. “Uncle Martin, you could have helped if you wanted because I’m sure you heard the news from Teale or one of the humans you bought. ” Kyle questioned him as if he could read my mind. It’s was the exact question I wanted to ask him.
Why did he offer to help when our father was dead?
“Nephew,” Uncle Martin tried to touch Kyle’s shoulder but he slapped his hand away. “I know you think I didn’t want to help but I try to contact my brother. I wanted to warn him about the dangers of accommodating vampires under his roof but he chose to ignore me. There was nothing I could do.” He paused for a few seconds before he continued. “When I heard about your mother’s death, I tried contacting my brother but he refused to pick my calls.”
There he goes again without another excuse.
“If you had wanted to help, you would have uncle, Martin. You chose to ignore everything because you hate our father.” I retorted.
“Yes, I hated my brother because he was cruel. Your father should have ended the slave rule a long time ago when he became king. Before our father Raylle was killed by my mother, he told us to end the slave rule but your father chooses to ignore him and when he found out about my identity as a werewolf, he sent me to Antarctica!” Uncle Martin shouted as he expressed himself. “Although I was a vampire and also a werewolf at that time, I could survive the cold but you know what happened, I was attacked by humans who stayed there. They kidnapped and torture me for years because I was a descendant of the vampires! Look at me now, do I look okay?” Uncle Martin shouted yet again and pointed to himself.
My eyes roamed all over his body and saw what he meant to suffer. His coat looked as if he hadn’t been washed for years. His eyes had become sullen and lost all color. “I stopped drinking blood five years after I was banished. It’s wasn’t easy at first but I survived. My son,” he touched Teale on the shoulder and pat him on the back. “He gave the inspiration to survive up till now.” Uncle Martin heaved a sigh and looked towards Gabriella. “Believe me when I say that I try to help my brother and the humans.”
“I believe you.” Gabriella walked towards him and touched his hand. “I know you are telling the truth, Martin.”
Thank you, young lady,” uncle Martin smiled at her.
My wolf growled in my head when they drew closer to one another. “Stop watching and get mate,” my wolf ordered.
“Uhh,” I cleared my throat to gain their attention and Uncle martin seems to understand my discomfort as he moved away from Gabriella. “Uncle Martin, ” I called his name and he turned to face me. “I know I can’t amend for everything my father did to you but all I can say is that I’m sorry on his behalf,” I went down on my knees and bowed my head.
When Kyle saw what I did, he also went on his knees and bowed his head. “Please help us, Uncle Martin,” We both said at the same time.
“Nephews!” Uncle Martin helped us both from the ground and embraced us. “You are what left of my brother so I’ll do anything to help you.”
“Thank you uncle,” Kyle said and shouted Teale’s name. “Yo! Join in the group hug!”
Teale joined in the group hug and a few minutes later, we all headed to the castle with three vans and our cars. Gabriella and her mother ride with me in my white Venza while uncle Martin, Teale, Kyle, and Daphne took the Mercedes Benz. The human uncle Martin had bought all rides inside the van.
We were going to capture the assailant and stop the slave law but I hoped that nothing had happened as we drove down to the castle.
“You okay?” Gabriella questioned.
“Yeah,” I forced a smile on my face but deep down, I was not happy. I had no idea what we were about to face but I hoped for the best.
Before we left for the castle, Uncle Martin laid out his plans to achieve our main purpose. The plan was to lure Luciana, her father, and Xavier out before we attacked them. “You sure you okay?” Gabriella questioned yet again.
“I hope our plans work out,” I told her.
“Me too,” she said and turned to face the road.
The drive was short as we soon arrived at the castle. As we drove into the castle, everywhere was dry and silent except for the bodies of dead humans littered around the castle. “Oh my goodness,” Melody’s mother, Melissa exclaimed as we drove past multiple bodies. “They’ve destroyed everything and ruined people’s lives.”
“The blood moon never came, why did they sacrifice a lot of humans!” Gabriella covered her face as drove past the bodies until we got to the front of the castle. Outside the castle was Luciana, her father, and Zepeda waiting for us.
“Listen to me, Gabriella. No matter what happens, don’t leave this car until I say you should.”
“Why?” Gabriella argued. “I want to fight too.”
“Listen, Luciana is a cunning vampire and if she sees you, she might use as leverage against me.”
“I’m not some weakling that will cower in fear,” she argued yet again and when I tried to say something, Melissa beat me to it.
“Gabby, I think Slade is right. Please stay inside the car for now.” Melissa advised.
“I agree,” Gabriella agreed and I heaved a sigh of relief. “But, if Luciana tries to be tricky, I’m getting out of here.”
“Agreed,” I told her and came out of the car. Myself, Kyle, and Teale walked towards them as we’ve planned to hear what they had to say.
“The prodigal sons returned!”Luciana clapped her hands. ” I thought you all have disappeared. What changes your mind and why the van? You bought a peace offering!” She mocked.
Luciana looked like she had lost all her mind. There was blood round on her lips, neck, and dress. The blood was from the humans that had died by her hands and when I neared her, she reek of dirt. “They’ve come to surrender!” Xavier pointed out. “You will make an obedient slave,” Xavier pointed to me. “You’ve always got on my nerves and now I can’t wait until you become my slave.”
“Really?” Kyle scoffed and folded his arms together. “We didn’t come here to surrender, we came to ask you to surrender.” He retorted.
Zepeda suddenly burst into laughter and the rest of them joined in his stupidity. “You have no one to support you!” he laughed. ” surrender now and we will give you a position in the castle.” Zepeda ran his hand through his hair.
“Enough is Enough,” I balled my hands into fists as I thought of the humans that were laying on the ground with their eyes opened and their throats ripped out. Those people didn’t deserve such gruesome death.
“You all are pathetic!” I shouted at them. “You killed the king and Queen. Have you no shame!”
“Shame!” Luciana laughed. “All my lives have been in shame because I chased after you that can never be mine! That’s the biggest shame!” She shouted. “Since you didn’t come here to surrender than get ready to die. We have all the humans on our side now.”
“All the humans you say?” Teale scoffed.
“Is something funny boy?” Xavier moved closer to him. “You want to die?” He questioned and when no one answered him, he shouted. “Then die!”
Luciana smirked at me and whistled. From inside the castle, newly turned vampires and the vampires my father invited to the castle emerged and rushed to attack us all. I had expected something bad but I never knew it could end up this way. There was no way the human’s Uncle Martin bought to the castle could fight hundreds of vampires. Newly turned vampires are Always rugged and hard to control but since they were under Luciana’s control, it was a worst-case. They lunged at us and the attack began. It’s wàs a fight to the death.
