Gabriella Monet POV
Bianca’s hand caressed my hair but it’s wasn’t enough to stop the pain I was passing through. My body was scalded and left with whip marks and bruises. “It’s all going to be okay,” Bianca assured me.
I thought she had left but when I was bought back into the cell, I Met her waiting for me. She created a light that shone brightly in the dark cell. “You are all bruised but I’ll help you. ” Bianca placed her hands on my body and try to suck out the pain. When she was done, I felt a bit of relief but I still felt pain in my heart and head.
My heart felt as if it’s was being cut into pieces and My head pounded like it’s was getting hit by a hammer. “I could only use my power to a limit because when I came back to the human world, I was given an ultimatum. ” Bianca paused to clear her throat before she continued.
“If I use my power to save you thrice, I’ll disappear forever.”
That seems to catch my attention. I didn’t understand what she meant by disappearing forever. Do ghosts also disappear even when they are dead? “How do you mean? ” I asked her.
“I’ll cease to exist,” Bianca answered.
“But you are already dead, ” I tried to argue but shushed me.
“Stop talking. I think someone is coming.”
The clicking of heels caught my attention and the light in the darkroom went out. The person drew closer to the dark cell and the clicking of the heels sounded louder. “There you are,” I recognized Luciana’s voice anyway. “Betrayed by your sister and left alone by your one true love,” she mocked.
“That’s bitch, what’s does she want?” Bianca shouted at her but it’s was pointless because only I could hear and see her.
“What do you want?” I questioned her.
Luciana burst into laughter and clicked her tongue. “Can’t believe you can still talk after everything that happened to you.”
“I healed her sucker!” Bianca yelled.
“Stop yelling, only I can hear you.” I reminded Bianca who was yelling too loud. “She can’t hear you,” I told her.
“Who are you talking to?” Luciana questioned from outside the darkroom. “Have you gone mad? Now you talk to yourself?” She laughed and clapped her hands. “So pathetic.”
“You must be having fun for everything you did to me but I’ll make sure you regret doing that to me!”
“Really? What’s are you going to do in that dark cell you are?”
Why was she asking me that? “You think I won’t get out of here,” I scoffed and mimicked her by clapping my hands. “Just so you wait Luciana, I’ll come out of this cell and make you pay for everything”
“Duh, Duh, Duh. Words and words only. Listen little human, as long as I am here. I’ll make sure you die!”
Luciana kicked the cell door and yelled.
“You bitch!” Bianca shouted.
Don’t blame her, she never listens.
“You must feel so confident to have come here,” I mocked her. “You thought I’d escaped right?” I chuckled. “You are the pathetic fool. ”
That’s seemed to get to her as she didn’t say anything for a few seconds. “Cat got your tongue, Luciana?” I laughed. “Just so you wait,” I said to her.
“No one is waiting Gabby,” She answered back. “Slade and I are going to get married and you’ll be the loser. Who could ever be with someone who killed their mother?” Luciana yawned. “You are already boring me so I’ll just leave.” I heard the clicking of her heels sound as she walked away.
She didn’t even wait for me to reply to her. I was still shocked at the news of the wedding. I didn’t believe Slade would do that to me after everything we shared. “Don’t mind the liar,” Bianca snapped her finger and the light shone in the darkroom again. “Wait, are you crying?”
She noticed.
Tears spilled out of my eyes as I couldn’t help but think about what Luciana said to me. What if it’s was the truth? What if he was marrying her?
I burst into another round of tears and beat my chest as I continued to cry. “I thought he loved me, ” I sniffled. “It….”
“Enough,” Bianca hold me in her arms. “There is something I need to show you,” She announced. The light in the darkroom became brighter and I closed my eyes. A harsh breeze blew aggressively on my skin and I screamed as it felt as if I was transported somewhere else.
“We are here!” Bianca announced and released her hold on me.
When Bianca told me she had something to show me, I thought it was a fancy place just like in my dreams but we were in a place that looked like a cemetery. The sky was gloomy and I saw bodies of people laying on the ground. Piles of bodies lay on the ground and when I stared closely at the bodies, I saw a bite mark on the neck of most of the bodies. “Where is this?” I questioned.
“The ruins of the humans.”
I looked at her and she nodded at me. “If you ceased to exist, this would become every human’s fate,” Bianca explained.
“What? ” I looked around again and couldn’t help but imagine what the humans who laid dead on the ground had to face before they died. “How come?” I asked her.
Bianca took a step forward and pointed to the piles of bodies on the ground. “Every human will cease to exist if you die.”
What kind of bull story was that? How could I be the source of every other human?
“Listen, Bianca,” I stated. “Your brain might have disappeared the day you died so I think you are mistaken,” I told her.
Bianca burst into laughter and jumped like a maniac. That’s wasn’t the reaction I expected. “This is a revelation of what would happen if you die. You are the hope of every human of ever getting free.”
“But I’m bound to die!” I shouted at her.
“If you die then the human world would cease to exist.” Bianca reminded me and snapped her fingers. In a blink of an eye, we were back to the dark cell. “Remember Gabriella, you must keep fighting.”
I heaved a sigh and sat on the ground. How was I supposed to fight when I was betrayed? My best friend Daphne hasn’t shown her face to me yet because she thought I was a murderer.
How could I fight when I had no one to support me? It’s was a baseless fight.

Slade Donovan POV
My father had summoned me into his office for a meeting I had no idea of. Teale and I had been trying to find a way to lure Luciana into our trap and free Gabriella from the darkroom but we found none.
I missed her a lot. I missed holding, touching, and kissing her. I probably sounded like a fool in love but that’s was how I felt around Gabriella.
“The crown prince is here!” The guards announced my presence as I walked into My father’s office. Just like last time, I found Luciana and her father seated and facing the king.
“Father,” I bowed.
“The crown prince is here,” I could sense the excitement from Luciana and wondered what it was all about.
“We are all gathered here to announce your wedding with Lady Luciana coming up in a week and on the blood moon. ” The king announced.
I balled my hand into a fist and took a deep breath to stop myself from doing something bad. Ever since Gabriella was beaten and bruised, My wolf stopped talking to me but at the mention of Marriage, I felt a surge of power radiating through me.
“Reject the marriage. Do it for Gabriella.” My wolf shouted in my head.
I smiled when I realized that my wolf was back. Now I have the confidence and bravery to support me.
“I am sorry but I have to reject this marriage father. ”
My reply came as a shock to all of them. They all stared at me with widened eyes as if they never expected I’ll ever say it. “I love someone else,” I confessed and looked at Luciana whose mouth was wide open. ” I am going to protect the girl I love. ”
“How dare you?” The king slammed his hand on the table. He stood up but staggered and fell to the ground. The first sign of losing one’s beloved in the vampire world was weakness.
“Your highness,” we all shouted simultaneously.
I rushed to my father’s side and helped him off the ground. “Are you okay?”
“I am….” My father coughed out blood which I found weird. Losing of blood was not a sign of weakness. Something was wrong with my father and it’s didn’t involve my mother’s death. It’s was something else. “You need to rest father. ” I advised.
My father didn’t say anything but only responded with a silent nod. “Guards!” I shouted.
The guards outside the office rushed in. “Take him to his room and bring the royal Doctor to look after him. ” I ordered.
“Yeah, your highness,” they bowed and rushed to the King’s side. They held his hand and lead him out of the office.
“The king is starting to grow weak. This is the time to start planning for the future of the Vampires,” Zepeda cleared his throat after he uttered those words.
“You have something against my father already?” I raised my brows in amusement. “Nothing is going to happen to him and about the wedding, it’s will never take place.” I turned to leave but was stopped by Luciana who yelled my name.
“Why are you doing this to me?” Luciana yelled. “All I’ve ever done was loving you! Why!”
Done for me? I don’t remember her doing anything for me. She was just a conceited jerk Who was greedy like her father. “You think you did something for me?” I scoffed and turned around. “I don’t love you, Gabriella! I never do!”
“Then why did you make me feel like I was being loved. You lied to me!” Luciana walked closer to me and slapped me across the face.
“You wanna know why I can’t love a girl like you?” I spat out angrily. “Because you are not her!” I shouted and walked out of the office without looking back.
It’s was my decision and I didn’t plan on going back on my word. Protecting Gabriella was all I had in mind.
