Gabriella Monet POV
After the amazing Cave lunch, Slade took me out of the cave to the next surprise. “Where are we going?” I questioned him.
“It’s a surprise Gabby,” he grabbed my hand and kissed it.
“I wish I know.” I smiled at him as he led me into his car. “Thank you,” I winked at him.
Slade got into the driver’s seat and drove out of the mountain. I had no idea where he was going but I knew it’s was going to turn out well just like in the Cave. None of us said anything as he drove past trees until he made a turn and we ended on a cliff.
A cliff! It’s was a big surprise?
“We are here,” Slade announced and got out of the car before I could question him.
He opened the car door for me and I got out. I stood Akimbo and frowned at him. “The big surprise was a Cliff? Slade?”
Slade grabbed both my hands and pulled me into his arms. He kissed my forehead and caressed my hair. “You can see the whole city from up here and it looks amazing at night.” He told me but I wasn’t going to let his sweet talk about the Cliff make me change my mind on what we were doing on the Cliff.
“Slade,” I yanked my hand free from his. “I know we can see the city from up here but what are we doing here?”
“Camping.”
“Camping?” My eyes almost popped out when I heard that word. I haven’t heard that in a long time. The only time I went camping was with my father. He took Anabella and me to the forest where we camp for days. I missed the old days. “What are we camping with? Are we not returning to the castle tonight?” I questioned him.
Slade nodded and walked to the car. He opened the car boot and bought out a Camp tent, a telescope, and a few snacks. “You had all of this in your Car boot?”
“Yes, Gabby. We are going to watch the stars tonight.”
“Cool!” I gave him a thumb up and he winked back at me.
Slade and I set up the Tent after five attempts. When we finally finished setting up the tent, the sun had set soon to be replaced with a moon. It’s was a full moon and it illuminate the whole place. Slade turned a flashlight that brighten the tent and made us see our faces. “The moon is beautiful tonight.” I pointed to the moon and formed a circle shape with my hand.
“It’s is but that moon would become red in weeks to come.”
“And what happened on a red moon?” I questioned him.
“You don’t know?”
I shook my head because I thought the red moon was a myth but as the stories said, The vampires used the blood moon to defeat the other creatures. “The red moon makes the Vampires stronger and yearn for more blood. No one has seen the red moon in a thousand years.”
“Let’s me guess, that’s was when Lord Raylle defeated the other creatures and become king over the humans?”
“Sadly, that’s the truth.”
I heaved a sigh and continue staring at the moon. “You are getting married to Luciana soon. What’s going to happen to me after that?” I questioned him.
Cold silence grew in the tent with none of us saying anything except staring at the moon and thousands of stars. The wind blew harshly but not enough to blow the tent away. I felt the cold breeze on my skin causing my lips and hands to tremble and that’s was when Slade covered me up with a blanket.
“I am going to call off the wedding Gabby.  I am not marrying Luciana.”
“You sure,” I looked at him as his eyes transitioned from blue to golden which means he was saying the truth.
“Cross my heart,” Slade placed my hand on his chest and caressed his gently. “I love you Gabby.” He kissed my hand.
“What’s going to happen on the blood moon? Are the vampires going to shed more blood?”
Slade didn’t say anything but pulled me into his arms. “I am going to make sure you are okay.”
“Just me? Slade what about the other humans? What’s going to happen to the humans? Are we going to suffer again?” I threw a series of questions at him.
Slade removed my hand from his and placed it on his head. “Gabby, this is not my decision.”
“The humans are going to die!” I shouted at him but quickly apologized when I realized what I’d done. “I am sorry Slade. ”
“I know Gabby. We’ll get through this.” He assured me but I wasn’t sure if I should believe him. Humans were going to die and there was nothing I could do.
“Gabby,” Slade took my hand and pulled me up. He led me outside the Tent and pointed to the sky. “You see that?” He pointed to a star that shines the most in the sky.
“It’s beautiful!” I commented.
“Let’s go see the star Gabby.” He pulled me towards where he positioned the Telescope and beckoned for me to look through it. I positioned myself at the front of the telescope and looked through it with one eye open and the other closed.
“Amazing!” I squealed as I saw the most beautiful stars. “It’s so close!” I exclaimed.
“Yes,” Slade stood behind me and wrapped his hand around my waist. “You are beautiful just like the star, ” I felt My heart stopped for a second when he said that. I turned to face him as he touched my head and placed a hand on my cheek. I smiled at him and wrapped my hand around his neck. He carried me in his arms and walked into the tent. He laid me down and climb on top of me. “I want you bad Gabriella.” He muttered into my ears.
“I want you too,” I responded quickly.
Slade leaned in and captured my lips. The kiss was rough at first but soon become passionate and we had a long night.
~~~~~~
We sneaked back to the castle at dawn. Slade returned to his room while I returned to mine. When I was alone in my room, I jumped on the bed and squealed. Don’t blame me, I was happy. It’s crazy to be in love right because all you think about is your partner.
When I couldn’t keep all the excitement to myself, I invited Daphne and told her about myself and Slade. At first, she was shocked but she hugged me and wished me well. “The last time I remember, you were against Kyle and me. Now you are grinning and can’t stop talking about Slade.” Daphne pointed out. She was right about that but it’s wasn’t my fault that I fell in love with Slade.
“Daphne,” I said softly. “I fell in love with Slade, not the entire Vampire clan,” I told her.
Daphne slapped my shoulder and burst into laughter. Why was she laughing? “Why are you laughing?” I questioned.
“Cause it’s funny.” She answered and continue laughing.
I raised my brows and shrugged having no clue why she was laughing. “That’s was something. ” she finally stopped laughing. “You know you are a funny woman Gabby.”
I had no idea. “Who could ever believe you and Slade would ever be together?”
“No one,” I replied and scratched the back of my head. “Slade and I…..” I paused when I heard someone knocking on my door.
“Who could that be?” Daphne questioned but I shrugged and walked towards the door.
“Who is there?” My voice came out like a whisper but it’s could be heard by the person outside the door.
“Anabella!”
I turned to look and Daphne and she gave me a weird look. She raised her brows and pointed to the door. “Open it,” She muttered.
“Okay,” I whispered back and opened the door. Anabella’s face came in view and when she saw me, she smiled at me. “Hello,” I waved at her.
“May I come in?” She requested.
I stepped aside and let her enter Into the room. When Daphne saw who had entered, she quickly rise from the bed and bow her head. The truth is, I haven’t told her about Lady Aneka being Anabella yet. “Lady Aneka, what are you doing here?” Daphne’s voice shakes as I could sense her fear. It’s wasn’t her fault because she had witnessed Lady Aneka hitting me on the face before.
“I see you haven’t told her yet.” Anabella clicked her tongue and walked closer to Daphne. She grabbed her hands and pulled her into a warm hug. “No need to be afraid Daphne. It’s me, Anabella!”
“What?” Daphne shouted and glared at me. “But…” She stuttered.”Gabriella,” she said through gritted teeth.
“I am sorry okay. I should have told you but you what happened recently,” I referred to the issue of Gerald. “And you and I haven’t spoken in a long time.” I played with my fingers and raised them for her to see. “Cross my heart, Daphne.” I placed a hand on my beating chest and closed my eyes. “Ouch!” A pillow hit me on the face. “What’s was that for Daphne?”
“For not telling me the truth.” She threw another pillow at me but I ducked it and she started chasing me around the room. Anabella watched us and laughed out our childishness. “It’s nice to see you again Ana.”
“Same here Daphne. Will you guys like to go on a shopping spree?” Anabella asked.
Daphne and I both looked at ourselves and nodded. “Yes please. ”
We were soon on our way to the Royal shopping mall that was inside the castle. Ever since I came to the castle, I haven’t heard of it and neither I’ve I been there. But when you have a vampire sister and a noble one at that, it sure has its benefits. Anabella gave us the chance to pick any dress we liked and trust Daphne and me to always pick the best. Daphne picked a purple sequin dress while I picked a blue mermaid dress because I couldn’t stop thinking about Slade’s eyes. Don’t blame me, blame the love we shared.
