Jane was not only rich. Her husband was not a rich old guy but a perfect and strong man who was also the president of the Duncan Group. Jane had everything that women dreamed of. Even though others envied her, they knew that they could never become the next Jane.
They thought why Jane was so lucky? For them, Jane was the biggest winner!
A reporter asked, “Ms. Jane, you are different because you have your career. Most rich ladies usually kill their time by shopping and playing mahjong.”
One of the female reporters stepped forward and asked the most realistic question, “Ms. Jane since William is so rich, does he support your career?”
Everyone at present was curious about Jane’s answer.
It was quiet and they were waiting for Jane’s answer.
Jane’s career was booming but it didn’t mean that William would support her. After all rich men didn’t like their women appearing in the public and earning money.
Big families thought that men should work and women should stay at home and take care of children, let alone Jane had three sons.
“The question is a good one,” Jane said.
She grinned and she found this question agreeable. She wanted more people to focus on her work.
“I support her,” William said.
He walked over and took over the microphone.
For William, women were not men’s property. They were independent.
So, he would support Jane whatever she did as long as she was happy.
The reason he supported Jane had nothing to do with fame, money, and achievements.
He supported her because what she was doing was her hobby. People thought that William was the greatest husband ever.
All the women at present were jealous of Jane.
But they also knew that they could not have a husband like William.
“Jane’s company will go public soon. So, Jane, since you are so busy, how can you balance your time at work and home?” someone asked.
The last question was also the most difficult.
“I’m a designer. So, I don’t have to stay in the office all the time. I can do my job at home so I spend most of my time at home,” Jane said.
She answered it after careful deliberation.
When it came to the problem of how to balance one’s work and family, it should be one person’s job to balance it. Couples should work together to balance it.
No matter how much money one earned, he or she would not feel happy unless they had a family.
For Jane, her career was just her hobby. She cared more about her life and her husband, William.
“Jane and I have excellent people to help us,” William added.
William had been slowing down the expansion of his business. He was focusing on the Underwater Hotel Project which was his dream.
Jane was not keen on success after she won the highest award in designing.
After they said that they valued family more than their career, the reporters were surprised.
They had never seen people like them who didn’t like money!
The interview came to an end peacefully even though the air was intense at first. Everyone was satisfied.
The New Year’s bell rang. Jane took her sons and William to the temple to pray. Jane didn’t want money. She only hoped that her family could be safe, healthy, and happy.
When Jane walked out of the temple, there was a firework display in the sky. Jane wanted to spend New Year with her family. She believed that a bright future was waiting ahead.
…
After New Year’s Day, the traditional Chinese Spring Festival was coming. It was the most important day of the year for people.
William and Jane finished their work early and were prepared to go back to William’s home to worship their ancestors.
And they wanted to take back their twins and let the relatives see their children.
Colin insisted on going back with them. He missed his home so he wanted to live there.
Jane respected Colin and understood him. But she couldn’t take care of Colin if he lived there.
“My relatives live at the foot of the mountain so I will not be bored when I lived there. We can get together for a cup of tea or play chess. And the climate there is better than that of City J,” Colin said.
He had been planning to move to the old house for a while but he didn’t leave at once because Jane and William had problems before. He was afraid that if he moved away, Jane would get no one to support her.
Since Jane and William were good and they were happy with their three sons, Colin thought that it was time to leave.
“I see. You don’t have to worry about us,” Jane said.
She was a little disappointed but then she smiled.
The environment around the old house was indeed better. The trees were lush and the waters were lucid. People could hunt there.
Thinking of the pot of cooked rabbit meat, Jane felt hungry.
She thought that if Colin lived there, he would be happier. It was also convenient for them to visit him there.
The distance was not a problem for Jane now.
“We need to prepare something,” Jane said.
William wanted to drive back because the experience last time was great.
Jane understood him. She thought that she just needed to prepare everything they needed on the way back. This time, Lainey would come back with them so Jane had Lainey to help her.
“Do you want to watch a movie with me at night?” William invited Jane.
Although the environment at the old house was better, William preferred the modern life here.
At night, he wanted to take Jane to hang out among the crowd like normal couples/ If they went out during the day, people would recognize them so they had to have the whole cinema to themselves. But they would not have fun in that way.
“Okay, the world premiere of a film will begin at midnight. We can have that one,” William told her.
Jane nodded. She didn’t have to bring her sons if they went out at night. They could enjoy their time together without being interrupted by their sons. After they had three sons, they lost their freedom and had to sacrifice their time together to take care of their sons.
Tonight, William was home early, so Dan and Ben let him tell bedtime stories. They thought that William’s stories were better than Jane’s fairy tales. They found fairy tales stupid and unrealistic.
Jane gave up and let William read for them though she felt a little discouraged.
It was said that children who were five or six years old liked fairy tales. But Jane’s twins were only two years old and they grew tired of fairy tales. Jane was confused!
“Daddy, can brother and I sleep with you and Mommy tonight?” Dan asked.
Ben was imitating the characters in the cartoon and walked in circles in the living room. Although he was still young, what he did was almost the same as the one in the cartoon.
“Why? Didn’t you say that you grew up and liked to sleep on your own?” Jane said.
Because Dan and Ben heard that if they slept on their own, it could prove that they had grown up. Then they offered to sleep in another room.
Dayton had his room. At first, the twins wanted to share a room with Dayton, but Dayton had to get up early for school. Jane was afraid that they interfered with Dayton’s daily life so she prepared another room for them.
Jane spent a lot of time decorating the bedroom for the twins.
William didn’t want to sleep with the twins on the same bed because they always slept between him and Jane and they might wet the bed. The last but not least reason was that he wanted to have sex with Jane.
He was energetic and couldn’t have enough of Jane. They tried different positions every night and Jane would satisfy him. He enjoyed their time at night.
With three kids at home, they had much more fun but they lost much private space. William thought that he should have enjoyed more private time with Jane before they had children. But he was at the peak of his fertility so Jane got pregnant soon.
