Brody was anxious to see the chaos here, so he immediately slid another dagger to them. Jane took it and faced William. For the first time, they confronted each other.
Fifteen minutes had passed. The rescue team hadn’t arrived.
At this moment, the roar of helicopters came from the sky.
“Code red, Randy. The rescue team arrives.”
Brody nervously pulled the trigger.
“What are you afraid of?”
Randy was in a good mood. He looked up at the plane, hid behind the car, and observed the situation.
If there had been a change of plans, Randy had decided to save Jane and kill the kids with grenades.
Randy thought it didn’t matter if William lost two sons because he still had another two in City J. the Underground Network hadn’t reached there yet.
“William, the rescue team finally makes it!”
It was the most critical moment, and Jane was getting nervous.
“They should be nervous.”
William gritted his teeth and comforted Jane. He wobbled and tumbled onto the floor.
Jane immediately stepped forward to catch him with her arms.
Randy saw that and realized they were lying. His face was distorted by rage.
Jane’s instinct told her to do so. She was afraid that the dagger would accidentally go into William’s chest when he fell to the ground, so she forgot about their plan.
“She is lying!”
Brody was angry because they had been fooled around by Jane!
There was killing intent in Randy’s eyes, and his facial muscle twitched. ‘Since you love each other so much, I will bury you together.’
“Kill all of them.”
If Jane had gone against him when she was alive, Randy would rather want her corpse. A dead body never talked.
Someone in the Underground Network was good at mummification. If Randy turned Jane into a mummy and placed her in his room, he could be with Jane forever.
Randy then commanded.
The bullet rained down on William and Jane.
Jane dragged William to the other side of the car with tremendous effort.
The helicopter had descended in front of them.
“Save my kids!”
Jane shouted in English to the rescuers because Brody grabbed the grenade in one hand and took her kids as hostages in the other.
“William, wake up. We have a bullet!”
Jane pushed William, and he was in a coma.
Jane had lost her head.
The rescuers had taken the vantage position, but Jane worried that the gun fires might accidentally hurt her kids.
The best option was to hold Brody at bay.
Randy was throwing grenades at the boys.
William opened his eyes, crawling forward inch by inch. He comforted Jane, “Don’t be afraid. I’m still here.”
William raised his dagger and aimed it at Randy. In the nick of time, the dagger stabbed into Randy’s wrist.
The sudden attack caused a detour of the grenade, and it exploded in the air.
“Jane, it’s now. Hit Brody at the back.”
William panted, running out of his strength. His hands trembled, blood dripping down from them.
If Jane wanted to save the kids, she had no choice but shot Brody.
Randy was injured, and his men were in the battle with the rescue team. Brody was alone, so it was a good opportunity to save the boys.
“Daddy, Mommy!”
Dan was running towards Jane with Ben.
But Dayton was tiny, so Brody caught him in a few steps. He ferociously pointed the pistol to the little boy.
It was time! Otherwise, the kids would be in danger.
“Remember what I told you? Aim at the back of his head!”
Brody was running here and there, so Jane was hard to lock him up.
Jane tried to calm down and concentrate. The time seemed to stop in an instant, and the whole place was deadly quiet.
She imagined it was in the shooting range, and Brody’s head was the bull’s eye.
There was only one bullet left, so Jane pulled herself together, ‘You either kill him or get yourself killed.’
Suddenly there was a loud bang.
Jane pulled the trigger, and the bullet whizzed through the air, ripping into Brody’s temple.
Brody widened his eyes as if he was looking for the shooter, but suddenly, he fell to the ground.
Jane quickly grabbed the dagger and rushed over to stab randomly at Brody.
She had to make sure Brody was dead. No one could hurt her kids again.
The splash of blood hit her face, and Jane could still feel the warmth. But at this moment, she wasn’t afraid.
After that, Jane took the kids to the car.
“Mommy, Daddy is bleeding!”
In the legend, superman never bled.
Dan was a kid, and kids were usually innocent and brave. He seemed to fear nothing.
Jane was relieved that they didn’t know much about the adult world. So, she made up a story, “Boy, it’s ketchup!”
She was glad that the rescue team arrived on time and shot several men down. Now, only Randy left.
Randy was shot. He wiped the blood off his mouth with sleeves.
Thanks to his bulletproof vest, he had a minor injury.
The white suit was stained with blood, which added a bright color to his look.
“Randy, hands up!”
Around eight rescuers circled Randy, but no one dared to move. They kind of fear Randy.
Randy curled up his lips into a sneer. He only had one bullet.
He decided to go all out. ‘We all die. Today either I’ll be somebody or nobody. Anyway, I had died once when my dad jumped off the building, and my mom died for love many years ago. I don’t care.’
He had lost two important people, so he chose to live with revenge for the rest of his life.
Now, his enemy was dying. Randy felt his life was complete.
If there was any regret, it should be losing his identity till the end of his life. He wished to be an ordinary person who had a happy family and experienced some bitter romance.
But at the end of the game, he would never get the chance.
Ironically, he turned out to be a joke.
William took the dagger to kill himself, not Jane. He would rather die in place of his wife.
Perhaps it would be better for Jane to be with William.
But what about Randy?
No one knew. He took his first step wrong. Since he joined the Underground Network, Randy was destined to be a rat living in the dark, filthy drainage.
“Randy, come with us. If you tell us about the UN, we’ll help you get the plea bargain.”
The rescue team wanted to know about Underground Network from Randy’s mouth, so they hadn’t pulled triggers.
Everyone pointed their guns at Randy without blinking.
William took a helicopter to the hospital for rescue, but Jane decided to stay on second thoughts.
She had to be on the spot and make sure Randy was dead.
Randy was William’s biggest threat. If he didn’t die, Jane and her families would be on the brink of danger.
Randy had committed all kinds of evil, so he deserved it!
It was the best to shoot him down at one go!
Jane was afraid that Randy would escape on the way if the rescue crew took him away.
The Underground Network was powerful. Every time Jane thought of its name, it sent a chill down her spine.
“Jane, I know you are here.”
Randy paused and smiled bitterly.
He ignored the rescue crew and looked towards the car.
William stabbed at his wrist, so only his left hand could hold the gun. He saved the last bullet for himself.
Instead of being tortured and killed without dignity, he wanted to end it himself.
In fact, his life ended many years ago.
“I’m here.”
Jane did not show up, but she answered Randy.
“You win the game. William loves you very much. Congratulation.”
Randy felt bitter in his heart, but he still wanted to say it.
Randy didn’t mean to hurt Jane, but he was so mad about her that he lost his mind.
“I know you want to see me dead. If I die, no one will disturb you.”
Randy was very calm, and he would give Jane what she wanted.
The dagger on his wrist gave him the determination to die.
Jane and William didn’t give up on each other at the last moment. That was the love Randy pursued but failed to get.
They loved each other.
Randy lost completely.
He was helping William to prove his loyalty.
“I have a request.”
Randy looked up at the sky. The sky was blue and clear.
He flashed back to that clear afternoon when he saw Jane eating ice cream and singing along the way like an innocent little girl.
He was following Jane and paying attention to her every move.
Jane didn’t know that.
“I have a request. Do you remember Cigar? That crippled dog.”
Cigar didn’t stay with Randy for a long time. He bought it from someone and put it into that kind of foster pet family. He kept it for the sake of some dog-mad fans.
Cigar was a good dog.
The car accident was Randy’s plot. He did it to approach Jane.
After Randy fled to Paris, Cigar became a stray dog wandering around the International Mansion.
Thanks to some good-hearted people, Cigar could survive.
Even Randy ditched it, and Cigar didn’t leave the International Mansion.
Randy didn’t expect that he would have a feeling for dogs. Perhaps Cigar was dependent on him.
Cigar would always remember that Jane had saved its life.
Randy hoped that Jane could adopt Cigar after he died. Cigar’s legs were artificial, and other dogs liked to bully it. Moreover, Cigar was proud.
In the past two years, Cigar lived a tough life, becoming skinny.
“Jane, this is my last wish.”
“Jane, I want to be a good person. I will die without regrets if I can be with you.”
“Jane, I was wrong at the beginning.”
After Randy finished speaking, he pulled the trigger with his left hand. The bullet flew through his skull, and he was dead.
He didn’t wait for Jane’s answer because Randy knew Jane would agree. She was such a nice girl.
With a loud bang, Randy fell to the ground.
