William gently rubbed Jane’s hair. The scent was light and mysteriously close to the shampoo he liked very much.
They cuddled each other.
Jane felt her chest wet, and she knew it was William’s blood.
“William, they said the rescue would be in fifteen minutes, but it has been ten minutes!”
There were only five minutes left.
Jane held William tight. She didn’t want to be apart from her husband. She loved him! Jane had never been this desperate to express her feeling.

The human was the most selfish animal in the world.
“I want you to promise the twins’ safety. It’s all that matters.”
William told Randy that he could kill Jane, even himself, but his sons had to be safe.
At first, Randy had some doubts, but when William said so, he dropped the doubts.
People cared about offspring more than one could imagine. Even if two people didn’t get married for love, they could live together for the sake of their children.
But Randy could not understand this kind of sacrifice.
Since William had brought it up, Randy found the game more interesting.

“William, am I less important than your sons? How can you do that?”
