There was silence in the carriage.
The atmosphere became unusually oppressive.
It was a long time before Allyce spoke.
“There is no need to go to Dr. Griego, my wounds are fine, they are almost all healed”. His voice was calm and low.
Severo, on the other hand, ignored her completely as if he hadn’t heard her.
Allyce had to turn back to the driver and say: “Go straight to where you were planning to go, you don’t have to go to Dr. Griego’s house.
At this point, Severo finally spoke.
He simply spat out two words coldly: “No”.
“I said there’s no need to go to Victorino’s house”. Allyce was so upset that she wouldn’t even call Dr. Griego by his name anymore.
He turned his head towards Severo, lifting his chin slightly and with a hint of provocation in his eyes.
When he said he would leave, she had to go without.
With a slight movement of his eyes, Severo became slightly drowsy and began to close them.
“You …” Allyce tried to say something, but dared not open her mouth, so she could only grunt softly and merely turn her head to one side.
The driver ended up taking the car to Victorino’s house.
Allyce herself knew that giving in was not an option, so she didn’t lose her temper with Severo again and went straight in as soon as he got out of the car.
Victorino had just woken up after staying up all night the night before to do his experiments, and was reading an analysis with his bread when Allyce came in.
“Greek Doctor.” Allyce walked straight over to him and sat down, wrapping her arms around him and staring at him.
Victorino was so absorbed that he didn’t put on a good face when she interrupted him.
When he looked up and realised it was Allyce, his slightly furrowed eyebrows widened again.
“Madam, what brings you here?” he said as he got up to pour her water.
Allyce looked at him with mild surprise, would the Greek doctor now serve water to people?
This discovery amused her, so when Victorino brought her the water, she took it with a smile: “Thank you.
“I didn’t want to come and bother you, but Severo had to come, you know, and nobody can stop him from doing and saying what he wants now, and there’s nothing I can do about it, so you can take the opportunity to give him a check-up.”
As soon as he mentioned Severo, Victorino’s gaze became a little tense.
He was about to speak when Severo came in behind him.
Victorino cast a motionless glance at Allyce and looked at Severo: “Sir .”
Severo walked over and glanced at Allyce before saying with a straight face: “She has a painful wound, check it out.
Allyce sniffed and directed a helpless look at Victorino, who was sitting outside and Severo was standing next to him and did not see his gaze.
Victorino, for his part, began to examine Allyce with a calm face.
Although he knew Allyce’s injury was fine, Victorino examined her carefully and with an eye on the clock.
Severo looked away for a moment before his phone rang. He glanced at Allyce and found her playing with her fingers with her eyes down, not even looking at him.
With a slightly disgruntled raised eyebrow, he turned and went out to answer the phone.
Victorino finished examining her and said, as he bandaged her wound, “she is recovering well”.
“Yes, I feel almost finished too, he insisted I come all the way down here so you could check it out and come back to bother you.” Allyce’s tone was tinged with a hint of apology.
Victorino is disinfecting her, a man who seems so cold and indifferent that she can’t even feel it when he is bandaging and cleaning a patient’s wounds with such controlled force.
Not bad for a medical nerd who was approached by Severo at the drop of a hat.
Surely he is no ordinary doctor.
“It’s nothing, I don’t usually see people for anything other than experiments, so consider it a tune-up”. Victorino’s tone was light, and it really sounded that way.
Allyce paused, unsure what to say.
However, Victorino took the floor at that moment: “The Lord cares for you”.
Allyce sniffed and couldn’t help but laugh out loud: “He said he cared about meat, too!
Even Victorino’s eyes, which have always been unperturbed, were astonished.
Speaking of which, he couldn’t help but spit out his bitterness: “He compares me to beef, he’s been like that for days, a temper a day!”.
Victorino had already finished dressing her wounds and, after a slight pause to help her straighten her veil, he motioned for her to take a seat.
He waited for Allyce to sit down before crossing to her and taking a seat, raising his eyes in the direction of the door before asking, “Give me a rough idea of exactly what’s going on.
Allyce’s heart squeezed at the seriousness of his expression, “Severo el …”.
Victorino gave him a momentary look of peace: “You first”.
“Now he’s completely erratic, without a bit of character, completely impervious to his temper, he feels like a different person every day …” Allyce told him as she recalled the last two days.
As Severo was away answering the phone, Allyce’s voice was low and he could only attend to relatively important matters.
Victorino listened to this and fell into contemplation.
Before Victorino could say anything, Severo had entered.
Severo walked in and, seeing the two of them sitting across from each other, he knew the examination was over and walked over and sat down next to Allyce, nonchalantly picking up the glass of water he had set aside and drinking half the water he hadn’t finished before asking, “How are your wounds?”
Victorino said with a straight face: “There is nothing serious, he is recovering well and in a couple of days he will be able to take off the bandages straight away”.
Her face was normal and I could see nothing wrong with it.
Allyce, meanwhile, had just spoken to Victorino about him, and was a little wary when she saw him.
He bent his head and looked at the ground, playing with his fingers and not speaking.
After hearing Victorino’s disconnected words, Severo picked her up and prepared to leave.
Victorino stood up in time: “Sir, it’s been a long time since you’ve had a medical check-up”.
Severo looked at him thoughtfully: “If I remember correctly, last month you gave me a complete body check.
Victorino coughed lightly with some embarrassment, “I see you don’t look so good, so I wanted to check you again, and that’s what the lady wanted”.
Allyce heard Victorino mention herself and looked up to find both he and Severo staring at her.
“Uh …”
She did not react for a moment and opened her mouth not knowing what to say when she heard Victorino’s voice: “Ma’am, he just told me that the gentleman has been very busy at work lately and that he was worried that he might have a health problem and asked me to check him out … “.
Allyce looked at Victorino with a dumbfounded look on his face, where he said Severo was too busy with work lately and worried about his state of health. …
