Allyce thought back to what Lorenzo had said earlier about Oliveria, and opened her mouth to ask Severo.
Severo noticed his hesitation and asked aloud, “What?”.
“Did Lorenzo tell you about Oliveria? If Lorenzo had told him about Oliveria, surely he had also told Severo.
Severo’s face paled for a moment, then he said, “Yes”.
Then he asked: “Did Lorenzo just tell you?
“Yes, he said Oliveria was bitten by a poisonous snake. Allyce tilted her head to look at him with a puzzled look on her face.
It was obvious that he wanted to hear Severo’s analysis.
If it had been anyone else, she would at most have sighed, but the one who had been hurt was Oliveria, with whom she had a grudge, and she would inevitably be more concerned.
It was clear that someone was deliberately trying to reach Oliveria.
It was revenge against Oliveria.
I just didn’t know who the person I had hit was.
“Hmm.” Severo merely replied indifferently and did not continue.
Allyce bristled as she realised that Severo wasn’t really going to discuss the matter with her and had to let it go.
He just decided in the back of his mind that he would decide to go and see Oliveria at some point.
…
As for Severo’s comment about informing Victorino of his return to J, he had not even had time to do so before Victorino had already returned on his own.
And he had found his way to the village on his own.
After all, they had all lived in J and were familiar with the situation here, so Victorino was able to get straight to the village as soon as he returned to J.
The villa was large, with a very green courtyard at the entrance, a swimming pool, a flower house at the back and, most peculiarly, a vegetable garden.
Early in the morning, when the other three had gone out, Allyce took the maids to the orchard at the back.
He doesn’t know how to farm, but now he has a lot of free time and wanted to check it out.
Severo was busy with work and so were the two Xabat brothers.
He picked up a shovel and secretly thought that when Severo returned, he would have to talk to him about going out to work as well.
At that moment, a bodyguard with a man rushed towards her.
The light was strong in the hot sun and Allyce squinted, frowning, before she saw that it was Victorino, who had dropped the shovel in his hand.
Severo had said yesterday afternoon that he was going to call Victorino, but not so soon, right?
If she remembered correctly, she hadn’t seen Severo not call Victorino until last night.
Seeing Victorino approaching, Allyce put aside her doubts and stepped out of the orchard, walked into the shade, wiped her sweat and waited for Victorino to approach.
Victorino, dusty and a little tired, but extremely well-dressed, approached Allyce and stood up, saying in a modest tone: “Madam”.
He nodded his head slightly, with a familiar aura of nonchalance that made Allyce smile.
“Severo was talking about you yesterday, I didn’t expect you to come back today”. Allyce used the word “back” in a very affectionate way.
Victorino and Xabat were different. Xabat, because he had always been with Severo, was a man of his heart and soul, no doubt.
But Victorino is different.
Victorino is a workaholic, obsessed with medical research, he is interested in Grizzi’s “K7” team, he does not have Xabat’s loyalty, he is loyal to himself and to medicine.
So it is possible that one day Victorino will join Grizzi because of his love for the medical profession.
Any visionary leader would have needed someone like Victorino.
Severo probably doesn’t think about this, because after all, men are not the same as women.
Women are more delicate, better at interpersonal relationships and emotional exchanges.
Victorino smiled and gave a slight pause, nodding slightly before asking with a frown: “How is the gentleman?
“Pretty good, he and the two Xabat brothers have gone to work in the office and I’m the only one at home”. Allyce paused at this point before saying, “Go and wash up, I’ll get the kitchen to make you something to eat, we’ll talk later if there’s anything.”
Victorino had arrived in what must have been a hurry, and he assumed there was something urgent.
But whatever it was, it would have to rest before coming.
In truth, Victorino was a little surprised by Allyce’s enthusiasm, but he cooperated and turned to leave with the maid.
…
An hour later, Victorino washed and changed his clothes, ate dinner and then went to pick up Allyce.
Allyce had just finished chatting with Lucila on Facebook and, seeing Victorino approaching, put the phone away.
“Do you have something to tell me?” He thought Victorino had come in such a hurry because he had something to tell Severo.
Come to think of it, if Victorino really had something particularly important to ask for Severo, he would naturally go straight to the LK Group headquarters to look for Severo.
Victorino’s face immediately became serious: “Hmm”.
Allyce pointed to the seat opposite: “Sit down first”.
Victorino sniffed and took a seat opposite her.
Once seated, he asked a question similar to the one he had asked earlier: “How has the gentleman been?
His repeated questions about how Severo was doing made Allyce’s heart clench for no reason, she felt Victorino was going to say something about Severo.
Something to do with Severo and yet he was looking for her?
Allyce’s heart felt like it was weighed down by a huge boulder and she asked carefully, “Well, what is it?
Victorino’s brow furrowed even more, as if he was trying to think of the best way to put it, he said, “Is there anything particularly unusual, like a change of temperament …”
He finished the sentence as if he thought it was inappropriate to say that, and his brow remained furrowed.
Allyce’s heart strings tightened and she thought carefully for a moment before saying, “No, he’s always had the same temper …”.
Although it was hard for him to say it, he had to admit that Severo’s temper was really very bad.
Although he occasionally felt that Severo’s temperament was a little strange during this period of time, it was not really abnormal.
He did not treat her any differently than before.
Victorino seemed to have heard what Allyce was thinking, and pursed his lips before saying seriously: “Last time I made an antidote for the ‘K1LU73’ virus according to the recipe my friend gave me, and after experimenting on the mice, there was no abnormal reaction in their bodies. Initially, I concluded that there was no damage to the body. But recently …”
He stopped at this point, as if he did not know how to continue.
Allyce opened her mouth and said nothing.
Victorino then continued: “The mice have gone crazy and have started killing each other, their brain waves are extremely abnormal and their systems are all neurologically altered”.
Allyce blanched: “What does that mean?
Victorino explained: “The human equivalent of madness”.
