Chapter 410: Sneaking Around

Severo only looked askance at Allyce for a moment before averting his gaze.
His hands were stuffed in the pockets of his suit trousers, his pale face was devoid of any unnecessary expression, his eyes were sharp and his whole being had an unusually cold and austere look.
“Señor Alvidrez likes to joke around a lot. Severo narrowed his eyes slightly at Desiderio, smiling meaningfully.
Allyce snorted and looked at Severo for a moment, frowning slightly.
Of course I could hear it, it was as if these two were competing with each other in their words.
And she was in no position to say anything.
But just because she didn’t say anything didn’t mean that anyone would leave her alone.
Desiderio smiled slightly and glanced at Allyce before continuing, “I thought Mr. Betances was coming to pick up Allyce, but I didn’t think he was coming to see me, so I’m flattered.”
Allyce’s face tightened as she sensed that Desiderio had said that on purpose.
Severo finally looked Allyce straight in the face, with calm and unperturbed eyes: “Miss Delahoz, I have something to discuss with Mr. Alvidrez.
The implication was that Allyce should leave.
Instead, Allyce turned her attention to the way he addressed her.
-Miss Delahoz.
Allyce pursed her lips, but there was no smile under her eyes.
“Uncle, I’ll go first.
With those words, and without regard for the reactions of the others, he left in a hurry.
Seeing this, Desiderio thought of something, and his eyes became tinged with an imperceptible suspicion.
Severo said nothing, but turned and walked forward.
The bodyguard followed him from behind and approached him respectfully: “Monsieur Alvidre, please”.
Severo’s stance was a clear attempt to force Desiderio’s hand.
Desiderio glanced at the hordes of bodyguards and knew that he would have to join him for tea today.

Allyce had not gone far before stopping.
He knew that Severo had been a bit repulsed by Desiderio and had looked into it, but seeing Severo’s posture tonight, it didn’t seem that he simply had something to talk to Desiderio about.
I was curious to know what Severo wanted to talk to Desiderio about.
Severo had come to the party at short notice, which meant that he had come to see Desiderio on purpose.
To talk about Kimdis’ things, Severo would probably go to Severo’s exclusive box.
And Xabat did not yet know that she and Severo were divorced.
Couldn’t he now go and hide in the box and wait for Severo and Desiderio to come in and talk?
It wasn’t exactly glamorous, but I was really too curious and there was no other way out.
With that in mind, he quickly made his way to the floor where Severo’s box was located, to get ahead of Severo.
Severo’s private room used to be locked, Xabat had the key and so did the manager.
The news of her divorce from Severo had not gotten out, and if she went to the manager, he would find a way out.
Xabat was still on that floor of the ballroom and was not to be found.
As luck would have it, Allyce met the manager as soon as he arrived at the plant.
When the manager saw Allyce, he put a smile on his face: “Ma’am”.
Allyce put her hand to her forehead and said in a weak voice: “I was upstairs at a party and suddenly I had a headache and wanted to go to the private room to rest for a while.
Hearing this, the manager said: “Is the lady asking for the key to the box?
Said the attendant as he held out the key.
Allyce was in a hurry, and there was no time to open the compartment and return the key to the attendant; if the key stayed with her, it would be a problem if she was discovered later.
Allyce shook her head, “Go and open it for me, I’ve got a headache, hurry up”.
The manager said respectfully, “OK”.
And so the two walked back and forth towards the box.
Allyce followed her, looking around cautiously, and then followed the attendant at a brisk pace.
The manager opened the door and left.
Allyce closed the door behind her and, with a sigh of relief, hid behind the sofa, just behind the backlight.
The cabin was large enough that he could stay there until Severo and Desiderio finished talking and then he could leave without being noticed.
He had not been there long when he heard a creaking sound and the door burst open.
Then came the sound of firm footsteps and the voice of the doorman.
“Mr Alvidre, please come in”.
Allyce guessed it was Severo walking in front, followed by Desiderio.
Soon, the door closed.
Allyce heard the sound of two footsteps approaching.
It wasn’t until the sofa next to him vibrated that he was startled to realise that someone was sitting down.
Allyce looked up nervously to see a furry head peeking over the edge of the sofa, and it was Severo.
He bit his lip, not daring to utter a sound.
The next moment, Desiderio’s voice rang out: “Where is the tea, didn’t Mr. Betances say to invite me to tea?
“Didn’t Mr. Alvidre himself say earlier that it was getting a little late and that more tea would interfere with sleep, so why don’t we get to work first?” Severo sat across from Desiderio cross-legged, his expression somewhat sombre.
Desiderio smiled, his face as calm as ever, and said warmly: “If you have something to say, say it.
Severo looked at Desiderio carefully and spoke unhurriedly: “What is your relationship with Delfina?
Allyce, who was hiding behind the sofa, froze, did Severo suspect that Delfina and Desiderio were related?
As Severo expected, Desiderio’s expression didn’t change for a moment, he just frowned slightly: “Who?
He looked puzzled.
Severo smiled coldly, of course he knew Desiderio would be suffocating.
“It seems that Mr. Alvidre doesn’t know Delfina, so this money order must have been sent to the wrong person. Severo smiled faintly and pulled out from somewhere a money order with the address and account number of the remittance.
The remittance was made to Desiderio’s personal account, which meant that this person must have had a personal relationship with him.
Allyce was surprised to learn that Severo was not only suspicious, but had definite proof that he was looking for Desiderio.
She could not understand what Desiderio’s relationship with Delfina was.
If Desiderio really had a personal relationship with Delfina and was a mutual friend, it made no sense, because Delfina’s situation was too special.
How could someone who had grown up with a heart condition that prevented her from even going to school have a personal relationship with a businessman miles away, when Delfina had hardly any friends?
He could not see the expressions of the two men, but he could sense from Desiderio’s unusual silence that hers must have paled.
Desiderio lowered his eyelids slightly and his gaze fell on the money order: “This money order is from three years ago, at that time I was abroad for treatment, I happened to meet Miss Natividad, I got her help, I wanted to thank her and I sent her a money transfer, what’s wrong with that?
Severo did not continue talking about Delfina, but changed the focus: “Speaking of which, Mr. Alvidre is very lucky to have been cured of terminal cancer”.
