The corridor was lit.
As soon as Allyce came downstairs, the maid called respectfully, “Ma’am”.
The maids’ faces were cautiously coy, but they dared not say much.
Allyce, of course, knew how bad she felt.
The woman who had prayed again and again but was still abandoned, weak and weeping, brazen …
Allyce ignored the maids and simply walked out the door, her eyes too sore to shed a single tear, the tear marks on her face had dried, her cheeks were tense and a little uncomfortable, her whole being numb.
From his heart to his facial expression, everything was numb.
A sharp-eyed servant, seeing that the situation was unusual, went up to see Severo and soon came down again, shaking his head at the other servants and again informed the porters outside to let her go.
Allyce was as oblivious to all this as if she had been.
The hall, which normally seemed so large and the courtyard so wide, was soon at an end.
The doormen at the door did not stop her, Severo had given the order.
Allyce couldn’t help but look back at the illuminated villa.
It was big but, in the end, there was no more room for it.
He took a deep breath and turned to see the car parked by the front door, his Porsche Paramera.
Although he did not know how it was possible that his car was parked in front of the door, his suspicion rose slightly and then quickly sank.
She told herself mentally that she had to be calm, but her foot couldn’t help but step on the accelerator.
The car, with its excellent performance, took off like an arrow.
When Allyce’s car had left, a black car pulled out of the villa’s garage.
Severo got out of bed when he heard the sound of car engines downstairs.
He went to the floor-to-ceiling window and pulled back the mosquito net, but could only see the shaded street lamps in the courtyard, the bustle of lights in the distance and the dark curtain of mountains just beyond.
He stood for a while, then suddenly his face changed and he leaned his arm against the window, bent over slightly, put a hand to his abdomen for a long moment, waiting for the pain in his stomach to go away, and then straightened up again, already sweating profusely.
He picked up the phone again and called Victorino: “Send some medicine for his stomach”.
Victorino had just left the research room, disinfecting his outer mask as he asked: “Kimdis?
“Villa. Severo’s voice was a little weak, and with that simple confession, he hung up the phone.

Victorino arrived quickly.
When he entered the villa, he went straight to Severo’s bedroom.
Severo had already taken a short shower, changed the bed sheets and was sitting quietly in the armchair on the single sofa with his mobile phone looking at something.
Victorino sees her paper-white face, pulls out his medicine chest and asks with a slight frown, “Have you been drinking tonight? Have you had a relapse of your stomach problem?”.
“It’s nothing serious, just a little medicine for the stomach. Only then did Severo look up at Victorino.
Victorino heard a hint of something unusual in his tone.
He looked closely at Qin Mochen, his face was white as paper, his pupils black as ink … the beautiful face looked the same as ever, except for some weakness, but inexplicably he felt a pallor.
Victorino frowned slightly, he has never been one to talk a lot and ask a lot of questions, but he couldn’t help but ask more either: “Have you spoken to the wife?
Severo was silent for a long moment before spitting out words: “Yes”.
Victorino gave him a suspicious look: “What was the wife’s reaction, where is she?
“He leaves as soon as the medicine is ready.” Severo, however, didn’t seem to want to say anything else and started to run away.
Victorino wasn’t angry, he just felt a little strange. Severo had mentioned something about confessing to Allyce, and he had thought Severo was going to confess his state of health.
But now it seemed that the confession Severo had made was not the same as the one he had thought he would make.
Victorino pulled out his instruments: “I’m going to check you”.
“No.” Severo avoided him gently, without moving in anger.
Victorino understood something immediately.
“Didn’t you clarify your medical condition to your wife?
Severo got pissed off and stood up with a “brush”: “So much nonsense, don’t you have to be busy investigating?

Allyce was driving aimlessly and had no idea where he had driven.
When she stopped, she found herself parked in front of Kimdis.
Slowly rolling down the window, the night breeze came through the window and it was cool.
His whole body shook hard and he finally came to his senses.
He stayed a while longer before returning to his flat.
But when he reached the floor, he didn’t want to go back up, there were traces of Severo’s life there and he didn’t want to go back at all.
Leaning back in her chair, Allyce fell asleep, and when she woke up again, the sky was already white.
It was dawn.
He had slept in the car all night.
Habitually, he picked up his phone and checked the time, six o’clock in the morning, still early.
Wait, a phone?
Hadn’t Severo taken the phone away from him before? How could he be in the car?
He looked in the drawer again, all his papers were there.
Thinking back, his car had been parked at the front door as soon as he had left the night before, and then he froze for a moment, thinking that his phone and papers were in the car, and then he smiled.
Indeed, it was Severo’s style, he wondered why a man who had not been home for three whole days would suddenly return.
I had returned last night with the intention of having a “confrontation” with her.
Shouldn’t she be grateful that he was so considerate and had a car ready for her?
Buzz…
The phone rang.
Allyce looked down and saw that it was Esther calling.
As soon as she answered the call, Ester’s surprised voice was heard: “Superintendent Delahoz, are you all right?
Allyce replied lightly: “Yes”.
His voice was hoarse from the night’s sleep in the car and from all the crying he had done in the village the night before.
“Are you ill? I’m dying of anxiety as I haven’t been able to contact anyone for the last few days …”
It was clear that Esther was really a bit anxious, she wouldn’t normally dare to ramble on like that with Allyce.
Allyce listened to her and then brushed her hair off her forehead: “I’ll be in the office today”.
After hanging up the phone, Allyce got out of the car and returned to the flat.
He had to shower and change and then he had to go to work as if nothing had happened.
When she was a child she thought her father would be with her for the rest of her life, but he died when she was nine years old. When she grew up and met Severo, she thought he would be with her for the rest of her life, but that “life” was too short.
Probably, the so-called “whole life” was never meant to be a life of trust for others, whatever happens, one has to live one’s own life.
