Chapter 71: Clearing Operation
She went back to the car and found that Lora was out of nowhere. “Where’s Lora?”
“Brought a coffee for you.” He said and she opened her laptop. A smile instantly formed on her lips. “Gotcha.” She whispered when she saw the one who was following her.
“Did Fred stop following me?”
“Yes, you’re on your own now, according to him,” Bald replied to her.
“Prepare yourself, we’ll conduct a little clearing operation.” Soon as Lora got into the car she threw the coffees out and Baldo drove fast to chase the one who put poison in her drink.
“Who’s that? Is it Constancio?” Lora asked but Fera shook her head and change her clothes. Prepared her gun and wore combat shoes.
“I think it was him who killed Nana Felly.” She dropped and Lora started changing her clothes too. Baldo used to see Fera change but Lora was a little distracted.
“Eyes on the road!” Lora shouted when he almost bumped a car in front.
He traces the other direction to corner the motor rider. While Fera was trying to follow him using her tracker.
Baldo parked and Baldo ran to follow him. Lora went out too and Fera was last to leave the car. She activated something to secure it. She ran after them and ran in the other direction. Soon she saw him approaching and she didn’t think twice and shoot his leg. He dropped and hurriedly get up.
“Do you think I can’t find you?” She asked when Baldo was standing next to him.
“I see the newly vindicated princes aren’t truly innocent.”
“Said by the killer himself who tried to poison me just now.”
He lost his words and looked at her. He was young and naive. Older than Fera but young by experience. His moves were almost flawless until Fera was well guarded.
“As far as I know, I killed no one yet. I have never wronged anyone yet, I didn’t betray anyone yet. How did I become isn’t innocent when you are breathing still?” Her bloodshot eyes bore into his body as if she could see his soul.
“Did you kill nana Felly?”
He shook his head while looking at her. Baldo held his shoulders and made him kneel. Lora was pointing her gun at him while standing next to me.
“I didn’t not.”
“Liar,” and she shoots his left shoulder. It was too hot and daylight but the place was abandoned.
“Tell her the truth, she might spare you,” Lora said and he clasped his palm together.
“I did, I did kill her but I only did that to save my sister. They have my sister until now. The condition was to kill you and they’ll let my sister go.” He was now shaking in fear.
“What made you think I will believe that you are a victim too?” He wouldn’t be involved in this kind of situation if he was innocent.
“I owe them money.” He said and she knew he was telling the truth.
“Who made you do this?”
“I can’t tell you, he’s watching us. He’ll kill my sister.”
“You killed my mother, I don’t care about your sister now tell me or you will die. Don’t think you can negotiate with me.”
“The Arranetas, they want their land back,” he said and Baldo shoot him to his head.
“Arraneta’s land?”
“It was their land that they sold when they face bankruptcy.”
“Had they rise from the dirty to cross me?” She couldn’t believe someone was after her for that lame reason.
“They had been requesting to retrieve that but your father kept rejecting their request to negotiate about it,” Lora explained as they walked back to their car.
“Do they have a pending request now?”
“Yes,”
“Grant it,” Lora nodded and she turned to Baldo. “Did you get all his devices?”
“Yes,”
“I don’t want him to think that he’s dead. They’d be suspicious to bite the bait,” said she.”
“What’s my schedule for tomorrow?”
“Counseling with Mrs. Alexandria,” Lora answered and she browse raised in confusion.
“A psychiatrist? I am not crazy.”
“Traumatized, yes,” Lora said and shut her.
“Whatever.”
“No one was available today, I have set their schedules for tomorrow, I think you better rest for now,” Lora added and she nodded. She already knows who killed Nana Felly.
“Don’t Fred has a report something to me?”
“He’ll be at the mansion for that.” They drive to the mansion silently while Lora was busy with her laptop.
They reached the mansion and noticed a car at the gate.
She rolled the window down and saw a man standing next to it. He waved his hand to them so Fera went down.
“Hey, couz, nice to finally meet you.” He took her hand and looked at the man with tattoos, he even have tattoos on his face.
“Sorry?”
“That bastard didn’t tell you about me, we better talk about this inside. I have been waiting here for ages.” She didn’t suspect the man and let him in. Baldo was all alert around the man while Lora was having theories.
“I think he was Fred’s twin that transferred to another’s womb.” Fera’s eyes widen and looked at the man who sat on her couch.
“Finnick?” Fera asked and the man smiled.
“Good to know, you know me.”
“Where is Fred?”
“On his way to the airport, I think. His flight would be eight pm. He asked for a vacation just a week and leave things to me for a while.” He answered and opened the bottle of wine from the corner.
“I didn’t know you were here.”
“I just arrived yesterday. Here’s his report for this month, I don’t know what that is but I know that’s the report.” And he drank the wine by the bottle.
“I expect you know what you have to do while he’s away.”
“Of course, don’t worry about me. Worry about Fred, he was too stressed lately.” They had talked more about the business and the situation. Until the time had passed fast than expected.
“I need to go now, Fred left me a pretty had head servants.” It was seven thirty when he left and Fera was alone in her room.
As the time ran, the heavier her heart gets. Seven forty-five she decided to read the email Lora forwarded.
“Dear Love of my Life, I hope you open this before my flight. I love you and I will always choose you if you want me to. Meet me in the lobby, will you run with me and left everything behind? If yes be there, if no be there still. I want to see you before I leave.”
She looked at her clock it was seven fifty-nine. She stared at it until it moved to eight pm. She closed her eyes and a tear dropped. “No more tears, I’m done.”
She jumped into her bed and covered her body with a blanket. After a few seconds, she heard an aggressive knock on her door.
“Yes?” Lora showed her a picture of a plane that explode on the runway before it could fly.
“No, she ran down to the parking and saw Baldo in the car. She hopped in and Lora took a big bike, Baldo drove fast as he could to the airport. All her thoughts were about Nick.
‘This can’t be,’
When they got there, the police weren’t letting them pass through. She searched for the list of the victims and saw three-four names, Fredrick Fuentes, Nick Kingston Hernandez, Clarita Hernandez, and Nikolas Hernandez. They were one of the passengers.
“Some survived the explosion. Fred was safe, leave Fred to me.” Lora ran away and leave the information in her hand. Some were dead and unidentified.
“Let me in, do something, Baldo.” She was too desperate so Baldo created a little scene so she could run in. She went to the ran way and saw the plane that was half burned. All were unconscious but she couldn’t find Nick.
She ran to the medical team but she was in her pajamas so instantly know that she shouldn’t be there. The guard caught her and she didn’t have time to escape.
“Please tell me, the Hernandezs weren’t in that plane.” She asked to be the lady who checked the information, they were one of the passengers.
They brought her to the lobby and leave her there, she sat on the floor and hugged her knees. She couldn’t help her tears anymore and she cried again.
“You too so long.”
She froze when she heard that voice, she looked up and saw him. She instantly jumped up to him and hugged him tightly.
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry.”
“You didn’t plan to show up I assume.” He said bitterly and hugged her back.
“I want you to reach your goals, I don’t want to ruin your dreams. I am not running away and leaving everything behind, that’s impossible.”
“I understand.” He said and she kissed him on his lips.
“I thought I lost you that way.”
“I told you, I’ll wait for you here, you want to be with me or not.” They stayed like that for a few minutes until Nick broke the silence.
“You love me right?”
“Yes.”
“He let go and took something out of his pocket.” He showed her a red small box. He opened it and revealed a ring, with an infinity design.
“Will you promise to love me forever?” He was too afraid that he might lose her if he leave without assurance.
“Yes.”
“Will you promise to trust me and wait for me?”
“Yes.”
He put the ring on her finger and kissed her on her forehead. “I can’t lose you. Promise that I won’t be losing you after this.” She smiled and nodded.
“I love you, Nick Kingston Hernandez.” She whispered in his ears.
“I love you more, Fairly Raliya Hernandez.”
