Part 2 – Chapter 63

Olivia
We were not talking along the way. Like, literally.
The situation between us was so awkward. Especially, to me. I had no idea why Blake suddenly came to my house, picked me up at the gym, and where he was going to take me. Not his house, I hoped. Not kidnapping me, that would be impossible.
There was no reason for him to want me again.
He threw me away.
He didn’t want me anymore.
And I didn’t want to put my hopes high.
“Where are you taking me?” I finally broke the silence.
“You haven’t eaten.”
“So?”
“So…I’m taking you to dinner.” Oh, hell no.
“Thanks for the offer but I prefer to eat at home.” I didn’t want to be with him.
Blake smirked with my declination. “You don’t want to be with me, do you?” Again, this always happened. Two years were nothing to him. He was still able to read me easily. That was a bullseye to me.
“I think…you have an idea why I don’t want to be with you,” I said, leaving his question unanswered.
I heard him sighed but his eyes were still on the road. “Can’t you just let it go, Olive?” Wow, how easy of him. Maybe it was easy for him to let go but not for me. It was so damn difficult for me to forget about it, especially about that night. The time where I almost gave myself fully to him.
We almost crossed the line together. I could see from his blue eyes that night; he was ready to take me. And I was too. If Blake had sex with me that night, there was no turning back for the both of us. I was ready to throw everything I had and I had built. Just to be with him. Forever. But now…
I was grateful that we didn’t go along the way or I would go crazy because he threw me away the next day. Like a fucking dirt.
“You broke my heart, Blake. At one point, you made me feel wanted by you, and the next, you made me feel dirty about myself,” I said coldly.
“Don’t say that.”
“That’s the truth. It hurts, right? If you’re truly considered yourself as my father, you would hold back and not touched me. But you let the lust taken over you and almost fucked me.”
“Watch your mouth, Olivia.” Watch my damn mouth? What the hell?!
“My mouth is mine to use and I can say anything I want. Including cursing,” I countered and scoffed. “But I was grateful, Blake. Because we didn’t go along the way. I don’t want to tell my friends that my stepfather fucked me like a whore and took away my precious virginity.” And that was when Blake snapped.
He stopped the car so suddenly as my body jerked to the front. What the fuck?! I saw the front and it was currently red light. But still! He didn’t need to do that! I was thankful because I had my seatbelt on, otherwise, I would get thrown away.
I turned to Blake angrily. His eyes were still fixed at the front but I knew he could sense my anger. “Why would you do that?!”
He turned to me, looking so angry and pissed. Well, I felt even more than his. “Do you truly feel that way?” he asked while looking so offended. “Do you really think that I touched you that night because I was fucking turned on?”
“Y-You said it before. Because it’s been a long time you fucked somebody and you had the chance with me, and that’s how you touched me.”
His blue eyes sharpened, looking even angrier. He pushed his body closer to me. “I ask you one more time, little girl. Watch. Your. Fucking. Mouth,” he warned. He thought I would obey him that easily? Not anymore, Mister.
“What are you going to do if I use my filthy mouth again?” I challenged and he smirked. Like he was waiting for me to do that.
“Then, I’m going to fuck your mouth right here. I don’t fucking care about the cars behind us. Let them see how I fuck your filthy mouth.” I stopped dead. He did not just say that.
“You wouldn’t do that.”
He smirked. “Try me.” His tone was deadly serious. No, Blake would not do that. Not in the car. Not when we were waiting for the green light.
I knew he was only threatening. An empty threat like he always did before.
Try me.
No, I knew that tone. He was serious and he would do that. I better stand back now and I saw Blake returned to his seat and began to accelerate his car again. “I’m taking you to dinner. No discussion.” I was annoyed by it once again. I closed my eyes and silently inhaling. I laid my head on the chair and looking outside the window. There was no talking between us until we reached the restaurant.
A steak restaurant.
I remembered this place. This was the restaurant when Blake took me the next day after our first fight. I was about to go out until Blake said, “Wait.” And he walked out of his door, heading towards me. He opened the door, holding out his hand where I looked at his hand first and turned to his face. Looking at some answer to why he suddenly acted like this.
Like a proper gentleman.
I hesitated but I grabbed his hand in the end. He led me out, pulling me gently. “Will you let me go now?”
“No.” And that was it. No more room for discussion. But not for me.
“Why?”
Blake turned his head to me. “We’re on a date now.” Say what?
I was shocked. Literally, shocked. Did he just say we were on a date? We were not! “No, we’re not on a date, Blake. An uncle won’t take his niece to a date,” I corrected him.
“Well, I could. Just be a good girl and let me treat you.” He pulled me where I allowed him. I couldn’t exactly win his strength anyway.
We entered the restaurant, by still holding hands, and went to the table. Even the table was the one we sat on that day. Damn me for still remembering. And damn you, Blake for making me remember.
“Do you remember we’re sitting in this same spot that day?” Damn it!
“We were?” I pretended like I didn’t remember but watching him scoffed at me proven everything.
“You are a poor liar.” I didn’t counter him back and the waitress came and she gave the book menu to us. “A rib-eye with mashed potatoes and green beans for the lady,” he suddenly said. “And I have the fillet mignon.” He gave the book menu back to the waitress and she walked away. He returned his blue eyes to me and smirked. “That’s what you ordered before.”
I exhaled tiredly. “Will you stop doing that?” What was he trying to do? Repeating the memories we had together? I didn’t want it. I had decided to move on. To forget about him. I deserved better than Blake.
While I was trying to clear my mind, my phone chimed. I took it out of my bag and I saw a message from Javier.
Have you reached home safely?
That’s what he asked. I smiled reading his message. I was happy with his attention and then I typed:
I’m having dinner with my uncle.
“How do you know Javier?” Blake suddenly asked. I turned to him after I sent the message.
“I met him when I was accompanying Karen at the studio. He was her partner at the photoshoot and we get to know each other.”
He scoffed like he was mocking me. “Another model,” he murmured while drinking his water.
I lost my smile in an instant. “He’s different than the last one you’ve beaten up.”
“I doubt it.”
“And how do you know him?”
“He’s working with me.” What? “Javier is the brand ambassador of some of my company’s products. He’s been working with me for almost three years,” he explained. Well, if that was the case, Blake knew Javier well. Unlike Stewart.
“And do you think he’s the same as Stewart?”
He was merely looking at me before he found his voice to answer me. “For three years I know him, I never heard anything bad about him.”
I nodded my head. “So, he’s good, then?”
“That doesn’t mean you can get close to him.”
I scoffed. “That’s none of your business. We’re friends and I ask you kindly to not bother my friendship with Javier.”
“You just met him?”
“Yes.”
“And I suppose you will be surprised when you learn about his past,” Blake warned. I had no idea what Blake was plotting on but it was Javier’s past and I had no place or right to dig deeper about it. If he didn’t want to tell me, that’s fine. It’s in the past already.
“I don’t need to know his past.”
“Well, you need to know mine before.”
“That’s because you once married my mother and that’s why I need to know. If you’re just another stranger to me, I wouldn’t ask you. But you know what? It doesn’t matter anymore. You’re just my uncle now and an uncle does not bother his niece’s friendship.” I found myself so weirdly bold to him. I guessed this was the result of holding back for two years. “Why are you here today, Blake? What do you want?”
I heard him sighed. “I want to make things right.”
“What do you mean?”
“I’m not going to lie to you, Olivia. For the past two years, I was fucked up. I did the right thing to drop my adoption on you and I never regret that. Not even once. I thought that’s the best way to get what I really want.” My heart was pounding. I felt I didn’t need to hear the rest of it.
I had to run away now or there would be no turning back anymore.
“And what you truly want?” Damn my mouth! Just shut up!
Blake’s steel-blue eyes were directed at me. That’s when I regretted asking him that. For leaving with him.
“You.”
