Clark’s POV
I got my car keys and immediately got out of my office.
“Sir Clark? Where are you going?” my secretary asked and started following beside me.
“I have an important thing to confirm,” I shortly replied and didn’t bother to look at her.
“But Sir, you have a meeting with Mr. Salcedo at nine in the morning and you have thirty minutes left,” she informed me.
I looked at her in annoyance.
“I said I have something important-” I stopped myself to shout in front of my secretary.
I shut my eyes tightly and took a deep breath to calm myself down. When I felt relaxed, I slowly opened my eyes.
“Secretary Linda…” I called weakly. I looked at her with desperation. I held both of her shoulders.
“I badly need to go. Kindly take care of the meeting…” I said and let go of her shoulders.
I ran to the hallway to get inside the elevator. All the employees were now confused while looking at me. It looked like they were thinking about why the CEO of the company looks like in a rush.
I ignored all the stares they had thrown at me. When I reached the ground floor, I jogged to reach the exit door.
“Good morning, Sir,” the guard greeted me.
I didn’t have time to greet him back. I immediately got inside the car and drove it away; heading to Angela’s house.

Thug! Thug! Thug!
“Angela!”
Thug! Thug! Thug!
“Angela!”
I called. I kept on knocking on the door. I know Kokoy and Maymay were in school right now but I know Angela is here because she took care of the laundry rented by neighbors every day.
I knocked again at the door. My hands were shaking, my knees were trembling. It felt like I was about to faint. I hope the information I scanned in John’s document isn’t true.
Is she a prostitute?
Thug! Thug! Thug-
I was startled and stopped knocking when the door suddenly opened. Bel was now looking at me with her usual poker face.
“Why are you here? Where’s Angela?” she asked me. My eyebrow formed into one line after hearing it.
Why was she looking for Angela in me? Angela is living here, right?
“That’s what I am supposed to ask, Bel. Where’s Angela?” I asked in return.
Her forehead creased when I asked her back about her best friend.
“Funny, Clark. Seriously, where’s Angela?” she asked again which made me annoyed.
I closed the distance between us and looked at her face furiously.
“What the hell is wrong with you, Bel?! Why do you keep on asking me where’s Angela? I am the one who’s asking you where she is?!” I shouted out of frustration before moving away.
“She’s not with you?” she whispered in disbelief. And then later, her confused face turned into worrying. My heart pounded hard after seeing her facial expression. It looked like something wrong was going on in here.
I held her both shoulders and looked straight into her eyes.
“What is it, Bel?! What is it?! What are you thinking?!” I yelled, getting anticipated about what it was.
But she seemed lost. She was staring blankly in the air. I couldn’t help myself but tap her face quite hard to wake her up.
“Darn it, Bel! Where’s Angela?!” I screamed at the top of my lungs.
Now, I am getting worried about her. My heart started aching. I didn’t like this kind of feeling.
Where are you, Angela?
Bel slowly shifted her gaze to me. Her face looked like her soul was taken away from her. I got scared about what she was thinking right now.
Why does it look like something bad happened to Angela?
“At the entertainment club…”
After she answered that, I held her right hand tightly and dragged her. I took her in the passenger seat then I immediately went to the driver’s seat. I quickly started the engine and blew a series of horns to the road to clear the path.
People in the village were shouting and annoyed at us but I just ignored them. The important thing is we reach the entertainment club as soon as possible.

Angela’s POV
“Angela…” Sir Kenny called. I looked in his direction.
“As I promise. Let’s go?” he handed me the blue folder he was holding. It was my resignation letter. I took it and I smiled a little.
“Thank you, Sir Kenny,” I replied and we are now both walking to our boss’s office.
Sir Kenny promised me that he will help me to get out of the club. That he would help me to file my resignation letter.
Every step we take, my heart beats faster. I took a glance at Sir Kenny. I know he felt the same. There was sweat on his temple. He was just looking straight in the hallway.
We both stopped walking when we are now both in front of the office. Sir Kenny approached the two guards and whispered something. The two guards nodded in unison. They let Sir Kenny knock on the door and enter the room.
I followed him.
“What brings you here, Kenny?” our boss asked. He was sitting on his office chair. His feet rested on the top of the table. There’s a cigarette stuck between his fingers. The smoke of it lingered in his office.
“Oh! You are with Magda?” he exclaimed in surprise when he saw me. He put down his feet on the floor and threw his cigarette on the ashtray.
He smiled at us widely.
“Boss… I am here to accompany Magda,” Sir Kenny said. I saw he gulped hard. He looked tense and the sweat on his temple rolled down to his cheek. I got more nervous after seeing it.
“Accompany for what?”
“For resigning from our club.”
The wide smile on our boss’ face faded away. He looked at both of us seriously. He looked like a predator who was ready to kill.
I gulped hard. My knees started to tremble.
“Resigning? Huh!” he scoffed and laughed sarcastically.
“This is a joke, isn’t it?” he asked with a playful smirk on his face.
Sir Kenny gulped and took a glance in my direction then looked back at our boss.
“N-no, boss,” Sir Kenny replied. He could no longer hide his nervousness.
So am I.
Boss shifted his gaze from Sir Kenny to me. I gulped hard for the nth time and tried to calm myself down.
“We already talked about this, right? Angela?” he asked and called me by my real name. I slowly nodded at him. He silently scanned me from head to toe. It looked like he was trying to read my mind.
“THEN, WHAT IS THIS SHIT ALL ABOUT?!” he roared and slapped his office table.
Sir Kenny and I were both startled and looked at each other’s eyes. We both gulped in fear.
“Boss, I think our employee has the right to separate from us and look for a better job.”
“A better job?” our boss asked in a second.
“A better job??? Kenny, did you hear yourself?” he asked sarcastically.
“Boss, I don’t see anything wrong with Angela’s resignation.”
“You do?” Our boss leaned closer to us and put his both hands on the top of his table. He intertwined it.
“Yes, boss,” Sir Kenny bravely answered. I wanted to thank him many times. What he was doing right now is not what I expected it to be.
“Okay.”
Sir Kenny and I both stared at each other with questioning looks.
“What do you mean by okay, boss?” he asked to confirm and held my hand. He squeezed it lightly; sending me a signal that everything was going to be okay.
“Okay. I agree with you,” our boss said.
I looked at Sir Kenny in disbelief and later, a smile of relief curved on my lips.
“Thank you, Sir! Thank you!” I said.
Our boss just smiled at us.
Sir Kenny was about to turn his back to our boss just to get my resignation letter from me but stopped when the sound of a gunshot filled the room.
I closed my eyes after I felt a liquid splash on my face. I touched my right cheek nervously. As I looked at it, my eyes widened in shock when I saw blood on my hands.
I looked at the body lying on the floor.
It was Sir Kenny. He got a gunshot on the back of his head and it went through his forehead. His eyes were wide open.
My body trembled as I looked at our boss who was holding a gun and had a wide smile on his face.
“I agree with you, but not about Magda,” he added and laughed evilly.
“Ahhhh!!!” I screamed in horror after all the happenings sank into my mind.
