“I’ll help you to resign but for now, please dance on stage. You are already late. It can cause trouble if we announce a short notice that you can’t dance. You know the most reason why they are here is because of you. Just this time Angela. Just this time then I’ll help you later. Just let these working hours be done before we do it in the morning,” Sir Kenny sincerely said as he held my both hands and squeezed them lightly. I took a deep breath and slowly nodded to him.
He apologetically smiled at me and then patted my shoulder as his comfort. He walked out of the room while holding the folder with my resignation letter in it.
I sighed and walked straight to the dressing room to change. I put some light makeup on my face and then wear my mask. After preparing myself, I went up to the stage to perform in front of men with lust in their eyes.

Clark’s POV
“Sir Clark, Mr. Sy is here. He wants to talk to you for a minute.”
I stopped signing the papers on the top of my table and closed my eyes tightly after hearing my secretary on the intercom. I slowly opened my eyes and looked at the digital clock hanging against the wall. It said it was only eight in the morning.
“He’s gotta be kidding me,” I whispered, then lay down my pen. I sat straight on my office chair and then massaged my temple to reduce this stress. I sat properly on my office chair and then cleared my throat.
“Okay, Linda. Let him in.”
As on the cue, my office door opened. Mr. Sy entered and approached my direction with a smirk on his face.
“You don’t tell me that your girl is a low class. What a slap to my daughter’s face. Clark Clarkson chose a low-profile girl than my unica hija who has it all.”
“Be mindful of your words, Mr. Sy. The one who you are talking about is my life,” I countered and gritted my teeth.
This man has been getting on my nerves since day one. How dare he call Angela a low-class, low-profile girl? I know Angela is not rich as mine but I don’t like the idea that someone calls her that. Even if she’s poor, I knew very well she has a big heart.
Mr. Sy sat on the vacant office chair and faced me.
“Why would I be mindful, Mr. Clark? Tell me,” he playfully said then smirk. I tried to calm myself down just not to punch his face. I took a deep breath and released it slowly.
“Because you don’t know her yet. You don’t have the right to judge her or anyone who does not know where she came from.”
“Oh! Really, Mr. Clark? I don’t know her? I don’t know her exactly as you do?” he replied and laughed sarcastically.
“You are funny Mr. Clarkson. It looks like you don’t have any idea what I am talking about and why I am here,” he said, making my forehead creased.
What is he up to?
“Oh!” He exclaimed and laughed again.
“You have no idea! I can see it in your eyes! Come on, Clarkson! You are better than this!” he laughed once again which turned my knuckles white.
“What is it? Don’t play games with me, Mr. Sy,” I warned in a cold voice. This man loved to push my red button. If we were not in the office, I’ll surely punch his face and rip his neck so that he can’t laugh and insult Angela anymore.
“You really don’t have an idea, right?” Now, he was seriously looking at me. It looked like he was analyzing my face.
“Okay. You really don’t know,” he finally stated then laughed softly.
“You are the smartest person that I have ever known, Mr. Clark. You save the company without my help. I never see any flaws in you every time we have a conversation. Even in your background, you have a good reputation. You are good at everything. I don’t see you make a mistake but this time, I can tell now that the Mr. Perfect named Clark Clarkson, the CEO of the multi-awarded car company has flaws.”
“What are you up to? Please, don’t waste my time. Go straight to the point,” I hissed and held my pen and back to the papers to sign it.
“Do you background check your girl?”
I stopped signing after hearing it. I looked at him again, confused.
This is still all about Angela.
Darn it!
“Don’t tell me you did a background check about her?” I said in disbelief.
“Just answer my question, Clark,” he said, not answering my question.
“I did. I hired a private investigator before and he gave me Angela’s information.”
“Oh? Do you bother to read those files?”
My eyebrows formed into one line. Why was he suddenly interested in Angela?
“Yes, I scanned it. What the hell Mr. Sy?! Go straight to the point. I don’t know what you are up to. I’m not playing games here. If you don’t have anything good to say, please get out. You are wasting my time.”
The playful smile on his face slowly vanished away. He leaned closer to me and looked straight into my eyes.
“Your girl…”
“Is a…”
“Prostitute…” he whispered.
I felt someone pour an ice bucket to my head at what I heard. I looked at Mr. Sy who is now standing in his seat while fixing his necktie.
“There is so much revelation for this day. I hope this information will help you to decide about the marriage, Mr. Clark. It’s a slap to our family that you chose a prostitute over my daughter Natasha who’s brilliant, beautiful, and has power in the industry. I already informed your mother about this. I know she is furious right now, waiting for you to get home.”
The last word he said before leaving my office.
I was left dumbfounded in my seat, contemplating all the things I heard earlier.
This is not true… This is not true.
I hurriedly got my phone to make a call to Angela. After three times of trying to reach her, she didn’t answer her phone.
My chest moved up and down rapidly due to the extreme emotion I felt. I put down my phone on the table and stood up. I approached the cabinet where I keep the files that John handed me before.
My hands were shaking as I flipped the page and scanned the details of Angela. Then, I stopped after I read something.
Tears were rolling down my cheeks as the papers fell on the floor. I was blankly staring at the wall while the information I had read slowly sank into my head.
“Occupation… prostitute in the entertainment club,” I whispered as I weakly bend my knees on the floor in disbelief.
