I LOVE HIM
A week passed by after all the chaos. Patrick was taken to the hospital. He lost more blood and I’m the one who caused it. I wouldn’t have done it if he didn’t point the gun at Ryder. If Patrick tried to kill me, I would have stood like a statue in fear but it’s not me. It’s Ryder. I couldn’t do that. My hands moved to take the gun within a fraction of second. I can’t wonder what would have happened if I didn’t shot him. Maybe it’s time to get over that incident. The police officers encountered me at the station. But Ryder was with me the whole time. My parents are called to the station. Somehow the news was gone to Jason’s ears too. He came to the station for me. Ryder and I told about Patrick’s psychotic activity.
At last, they filed a case against him and he went straight to jail for all the things he tried to do. Of course, there are a lot of proofs. Patrick almost tried to kill all other students. So, they all stood up for me. It took a week for the issue to be solved. Now, I’m sitting next to Pearl in the park. I’m feeling so peaceful after a long time. But I know there’s one more thing to be done. Everybody knows what it is.
” What are you thinking? If you are not sure, then you better say no to…”
” No, Pearl. I decided. When my mom advised me, I thought about it a lot after my exams got over. I know who I should choose. I’m sure about it now.” I told her firmly. I never felt so sure like this before. I don’t have a dilemma at all. I felt unconditional love when I found who’s my soulmate. And I also feel broken to reject the other.
” Really! I have been dying to hear it. Say it now, Em. I’m so happy for you without even knowing who it is. I know your choice will be right. You may have a dilemma but in the end, I know you are capable of choosing one.” Pearl said, waiting for me to say it.
Once again, I thought of all of my good memories with Ryder and Jason. Both of their names brings me happy. I met Ryder as a bad-boy next door. The more days passed by, the more we got closer. He opened his heart to me. He shared all his deepest sorrows with me. He tried harder to protect me from Patrick. He made an amazing preparation by himself to propose to me on my birthday and he was ready to wait as long as I take.
I met Jason in school while I was bullied by a boy. He came to rescue me. He’s not only rich but rich by heart too. He never showed his pride to anyone. He’s a celebrity who treats everyone equally. But he never deserves a fake love from a girl like Crystal. I have seen a happy Jason once all the drama’s in his life is over. He saved me from death. He spends a lot of time with me in his private library and made me happy.
I was there for both of them and they did the same. Our moments may be shorter but it gave me enough love and happiness which I never had in all my life. I swear I would be with them for the rest of my life. Of course, it will be Florida. I will be settled here permanently.
” Are you gonna say or not? I feel like I’m invisible to you.” Pearl bought me back to reality. I watched the sunset and replied to her.
” Sorry. I got lost in thought again.”
I know what I need to say. No matter how much I loved both of them, one stood higher than the other. I said I loved both of them but I only have one heart. It could only belong to one.
” I love Ryder. It’s him. From the day I stepped into my new house and meet him as a neighbour.” I let the truth out to her and heard my voice say it loud. I have kept it to myself for days and now it has to be known to both of them.
” Wow… I think I guessed it earlier or not. Anyways, when are…” I interrupted Pearl and stood up from the bench in the park.
” I have to go. I’m so sorry, Pearl. I don’t want to postpone this anymore. I’m gonna tell this to them within today.” I told her and Pearl understood me.
” You go, Em. Let it all out. I’m glad you decided to tell say it now. It won’t be fair to keep it to yourself till the senior year gets over.”
” Yeah, I know,” I told her and called Ryder at the same minutes. He attended my call in five seconds.
” Hey, Ryder. Are you free now?”
” Yeah, of course, sweetheart. Anything important. I don’t think we have an exam tomorrow. Right?” He asked me. He must be thinking that I’m speaking as a nerd. But it’s not true today.
” Nope. Meet me at the beach in an hour. I will see you there.” I hung up after that. It’s better to keep a suspence. I made my way alone to the bus station and reached the beach at the specific time I mentioned him. When I arrived at the beach, I realized that I’m earlier. It’s okay. I can wait to tell him what’s in my heart. All my life I never imagined that I would be getting a boyfriend. My one true love. My soulmate. Now, I’m waiting for him. For Ryder. My everything. I touched the necklace he gave me. I smiled while getting the wonderful memory of my wonderful birthday.
I would hate myself I came here to this beach with an empty hand. I’m gonna confess my love to Ryder. It should be the best memory. While on my way, I bought two bracelets for us.
‘Always and forever’ is beautifully carved in it. I kept it in my jeans pocket instead of staring at it. He will be here at any moment. It’s going to be six. I walked forward towards the sea to feel the water on my skin. I started admiring the beautiful see and the cold breeze. There’s a happiness in waiting too. I folded my arms against my chest in cold. I let out a long breath and gazed at the sky.
” Emily…” I heard his voice in the silence. I eagerly turned with a bright smile on my face. He walked towards me with his charming smile. My eyes moved from his lips to his blue eyes to his brown messed up hair. He hasn’t guessed whatever is coming.
” Hey, yourself. You are on time.”
” And you are early. Do you want my overcoat?” He was about to take it off as he noticed that I’m shivering.
” No, No. I will get it later. Let’s talk.” I said. I don’t want to take any more time.
” Ohh okay. But are you sure? If it’s too cold we could have even met at my house or yours.”
” No problem. This place seems to be perfect. I wanna tell you something.” I spoke seriously. He nodded and waited for me to speak. I don’t know how to start, where to start. Instead of reciting the lines in my head, I would say from my heart.
” I love you, Ryder. I took so much time to say it and I don’t want to take more time. I loved every moment I spend with you. I feel like it’s the destiny which bought me to you. I would die to be with you forever. I could almost imagine my senior year in school, college and the whole damn life with you. Will you be my boyfriend? Officially….”
