TWO GOSSIP GIRLS
” Ryder, can you take me to the park? It’s important. Pearl needs me.” I requested him.
” You don’t need to ask me twice. Let’s go.” he understand the importance and didn’t even ask the reason. Ryder took me to the park in five minutes. I told him I will go back to my home on my own. It’s kinda sad that I couldn’t spend some time with him. But Pearl needs me.
I looked everywhere until I spotted her sitting on the grass instead of finding a bench in a shady place to sit. She wiped a single tear from her face. I noticed that most of her tears got dry.
” Hey, what happened? Did Andrian make a problem with you again? Just say it. I will make sure you won’t come on your way again.” I told her furiously.
” No, that’s not the problem, Em. Sit with me. I will explain everything. It’s not only about me but also about…” she trailed off.
” About who, Pearl?” I asked, sitting next to her.
” About Jason and… Crys… Crystal,” she said it in between sniffing. How can Jason and Crystal involve with Andrian? Both are totally different problems. It can’t collide with each other. I can tell it will be worst than anything.
” I don’t understand. Andrian was your ex. Jason and Crystal aren’t your friends. How can…” I stopped the sentence in half when she took her phone and opened her gallery.
” Hear my explanation and watch this,” she told me. I peaked a glance on her phone. Two girls are standing in a restroom in front of the mirror.
” I heard two girls conversations. They must be studying in the same grade. They are just gossiping about many things. Unexpectedly, I heard about Jason, Crystal and Andrian. I still can’t get it off my mind. See it for yourself. I got the proof in case of any need.” she said, giving her phone and pressed the play button.
” I don’t want to attend the class. Let’s skip it just like we do every single day.” said the girl with brown curly hair.
” Sure,” said the girl with spectacles and dressed in a hideous dress.
” You know what? Crystal is back here. You know about that right? In fact, she’s your neighbour.”
” Of course, I do. She won’t do anything without a wicked reason. Right now, Jason’s her bait. Poor boy. A famous boy fell for an bitch’s trick.”
” What the hell is she talking about? Why Jason’s a bait. I didn’t understand anything.” I shouted, pausing the video.
” Calm down and watch it fully, Em. It was really hard for me to take this audio and video by hiding behind the door.” She glared at me. I played the video again.
” What are you talking about? Crystal’s his girlfriend right. She came to Edgewood high for him. I know their story.” said the curly-haired girl.
” You don’t even know the whole story. They almost broke-up before the vacations start. Then Crystal went on a vacation. I don’t know where she was gone. That doesn’t matter. She got drunk and hooked up some unknown guy.”
” Wow, I didn’t see that coming. How do you know that?”
” This question is out of syllabus. Let me finish it. That guy is no one but a senior student from 12th grade. His name is… I think it starts with andrew… no, no… he is Andrian. I got it. The guy who broke up with some junior girl for Crystal.” She’s talking about my best friend. Pearl.
” So, they hooked up and…”
” And Crystal turned him down.” said the girl with spectacles. She’s the one who’s saying everything like she had some camera everywhere. I feel like I’m seeing ‘Gossip Girl’ again.
” Why?”
” Because she got pregnant I think. If her parents know about this, her life will be miserable. That’s why she decided to dump Andrian and go after Jason again. She uses him as bait by telling she got pregnant by him. With this reason, the trouble will somehow decrease because both of their parents are close and they know these two are dating. Most of the blame goes on Jason and she can somehow manage it.”
I gasped after hearing it. I couldn’t hear more. It’s way too much. Jason got fooled by her. What if Pearl never heard the conversation? Jason couldn’t escape from this misery. But still, the video didn’t get over.
” She can’t do this. He will definitely come to know about this one day and it won’t be easy to solve the problem. She’s getting herself into a bigger problem.” commented the curly-haired girl.
” Yeah. One lie follows another lie and it won’t stop until she dies.”
” Does Andrian know about this?”
” Nope. No matter how hard he tries to go after her, she never gave attention. He doesn’t have an idea about anything. He’s so stupid to break-up with his girlfriend for this liar.”
” Yeah. I still have something going in my mind. Does Crystal really love Jason? ”
” Who knows? Maybe she’s after his fame. Everyone’s like to be his friend just because he’s rich. I’m sure of it.” said the girl with spectacles. She did a little makeup and almost vanishes from the phone’s view. Not everyone’s after his money. I hate those who have a strong opinion about something they aren’t sure of. There will be some people who are not after his fame but really likes his character and wants to spend time with him.
The video ended. ” What are you going to do about this, Em?” Pearl asked once she turned off her phone.
” Jason needs to know this. She can’t cheat him like this. She cheated on him and telling a lie to stay with him. I may have worried about a little because she got pregnant at this young age. Now, I feel like I have no sympathy for her.”
” Yeah, I will forward this video to you. I know what did was wrong. I shouldn’t take any proofs like this. But I didn’t plan anything. Everything happened by itself. I hope what I’m doing is not wrong.” Pearl said.
” It’s not wrong. What Crystal did was wrong. She got the problem to herself and trying to put the burden on Jason who got nothing to do with any of this.”
” Hmm. Andrian doesn’t even love me. I can’t believe he did this to me. I thought I moved on but I didn’t.” Pearl said as tears started fell from her eyes slowly.
” I’m sorry this happened to you, Pearl. You deserve someone better. It all happened for the good. He doesn’t deserve you. You shouldn’t cry for him.” I said, hugging her.
” I know.” Pearl started to cry, hugging me tightly. I felt some tears in my eyes. Seeing my best friend crying broke my heart. I even need someone to comfort me.
” Can you go somewhere? I don’t want to cry,” she asked as her face buries in my neck.
” Yeah. Anywhere you want. Today’s our day.” I replied. Once we broke the hug, she laughed a little.
” Talking about pregnancy test shouldn’t be our topic in this age.”
” Yeah. Anyways, get up. Let’s go to any mall and have a girl’s night today.” I called her, getting up from the grass. Tomorrow’s going to be a long day. The day Jason’s gonna confront Crystal. Oh, god, what’s going to happen next? I asked in a panic to myself. This is the first time I ever asked this type of question in my life.
