Ceres Taylor’s POV
At night, when I finished the last infusion, Jeffrey Scott took me out of the hospital.
The doctor suggested staying in the hospital for observation for one night before deciding whether to leave the hospital or not. However, Jeffrey Scott found that she felt a little uncomfortable staying in the hospital. She hadn’t had a rest since she woke up and had been in a state of mental tension.
Maybe he thought she would go back to prison.
In fact, I was a little absent-minded. I just followed Jeffrey Scott numbly. After getting into his car, I asked him, “where are we going?”
Jeffrey Scott fastened the seat belt for me rudely and said crossly, “where else can you go?”
“I… really don’t need to go to jail?”
“If you still want to go back, I can drive you back.”
I kept silent. Who would want to go back there? I just felt it a little inconceivable. After driving for a while, I carefully asked him, “you helped me, didn’t you?”
Jeffrey Scott just looked straight ahead without saying anything. After a few seconds of silence, I said, “… Thank you.”
“I’ve checked out at the place I used to live… You can find a cheap hotel and put me down.” After saying that, I looked at him and said shyly, “… Can I borrow a few hundred dollars from you? I will pay you back as soon as possible.”
Jeffrey Scott wasn’t very angry at first, but when he heard her words, he was furious. He said fiercely, “it cost me several million to get you out of prison. Do you want to pay it back together?”
I was stunned. At the beginning, I doubted whether his words were true or not. But when I thought that he had saved me from the jail for so many years, it was certainly not a small amount of money. To solve this matter with money, it must not be a small amount. “… really? But I… I don’t have so much money now.”
I’m afraid I won’t be able to make that much money all my life.
The more Jeffrey Scott listened, the angrier he became. He sped up. I also felt that he was in a bad mood. I don’t know if I said something wrong, or if I can’t pay the money back?
Anyway, I didn’t dare to speak again. In the past, I dared to talk back to him loudly, but now I don’t have those guts at all. I really feel that it was thanks to him these days.
He is willing to take care of me after I was put into prison. Anyway, my family has never come to see me.
The car stopped in front of a villa. He didn’t say anything. He unfastened the seat belt and got out of the car. I followed him out of the car. The wind at night made me tremble, but I followed him sulkily.
He took out the key and opened the door. Then he turned to look at me and ordered impatiently, “come in.”
I took a look. Now I can’t think too much. I even feel that Jeffrey Scott is the person I trust most now.
After entering the door, I stood awkwardly at the porch. Jeffrey Scott took out a new pair of slippers from the shoe cabinet. He threw it to my feet and said, “it’s only this big. Make do with it.”
I don’t have the mood to dislike anything. I just feel a little warm in my heart. When I have nothing, there is someone who is willing to care for me. For me, it is the only good thing in the world.
“Thank you.”
He didn’t want to hear her thank him. He put on his shoes and walked into the room. Leaving her restrained, she stood at the door at a loss.
Seeing him go upstairs, I walked in cautiously. The room was luxurious. It seemed that even the big house of the Taylor Family was not as luxurious as this one.
But I don’t like such luxurious and spacious places. I want to rent a small house by myself.
Not long after, Jeffrey Scott came downstairs and threw me a new set of toiletries. “The room downstairs is cleaned up. ”
I looked at the direction he pointed and felt it was inappropriate. But when I wanted to refuse, I found that I seemed to have no ability to refuse now.
Because I don’t live here now. Where can I go?
I took the gift from him and didn’t know what else to say except “thank you”.
i used to hate Jeffrey Scott, but now I accepted his kindness.
“This is the key to the gate. Don’t lose it.”
“Okay.”
“Take care of yourself first. We’ll talk about the rest later.”
“HMM.”
Jeffrey Scott took a deep breath and felt annoyed and distressed.
“What do you want to eat? I’m going out now. I can buy it for you by the way.”
I looked up at him. Maybe i really felt hungry, so I didn’t eat anything in the hospital. “… I want to eat spaghetti.”
“What else?”
I shook my head. I think it’s good enough for him to treat me like this. I don’t dare to ask too much.
“Wait at home. Don’t run around.”
During this period of time, Jeffrey Scott had been worrying about me, and there were still a lot of things to deal with. After I was released from prison, I would definitely go to see Ben Scott. But Ben Scott didn’t remember me now.
He went out to buy pasta, and then went to the supermarket to buy some women’s underwear. It was the first time for him to choose these clothes. He was very confident in the girl’s figure and size. He chose the suitable model for her and bought a few daily clothes. Thinking that she was hungry and waiting, he did not go shopping more. It only took half an hour to come back and forth.
It was the first time that he had dinner with a woman at home. Seeing that she had finished a large bowl, he felt relieved and worried that she would not eat anything.
When she went to bed, he was a little relieved. He was worried that she might not be used to sleeping, but thinking of the harsh environment in prison, it was better than prison.
When I got up, I was a little surprised to see the breakfast on the table. I used to complain about him, but today I just sat down in a chair silently, thinking that he might have a big appetite.
But when I finished eating, I found that he only ate a few mouthfuls of porridge. I thought it was a little wasteful, so I changed my mind just now. I thought that the life of the rich was more luxurious.
“I have something to deal with. You stay at home. I’ll pick you up at lunch time.”
“Okay.” I don’t dare to disobey his order now because I don’t want to cause him too much trouble.
Seeing him stand up and clean the table, I said in a hurry, “… I’ll clean it up. You can go ahead with your work.”
Jeffrey Scott took a look at her, put down the plate, wiped her hands with a tissue, and then walked to the porch. “I’m leaving now.”
He didn’t do housework. He thought it was good to have a woman busy with these trifles at home. The moment he went out, he was waiting for the time to go home again.
After I cleaned up the kitchen, I saw the landline in the living room and tried to call Ben Scott.
She knew that he had lost his memory and was ready that he didn’t remember me. Even if she just called him and said that she had made the wrong call, listening to his voice, she knew that he was very satisfied. But she didn’t expect that the number on the phone was an empty number.
After I double checked the number, I gave up the idea.
His mother hates me so much. Of course she will take this opportunity to completely erase me from Ben Scott’s world. How can she leave a chance for me to find Ben Scott?
But now I want to see him. It seems that it has been a long time since I saw him. I haven’t seen him for a long time.
The missing made me restless. Finally, I changed my shoes and went out.
Because she didn’t have money with her, she walked for about half an hour before she arrived at the place where Ben Scott rented an apartment. When she knocked on the door, she found that the rent had been changed and the room was no longer the familiar one.
She apologized in disappointment and left. Then she went to his company. Everyone in the company knew my relationship with Ben Scott. They knew that Ben Scott hadn’t returned to the company yet and was still recuperating at home.
I know his address, but I also know that even if I go there, I can’t see him.
She had wanted to ask the company about Ben Scott’s recent situation, but no one knew the details. They only knew that he was recuperating after something happened to him.
When I walked on the street, I suddenly felt that this city was so strange that I was at a loss. I couldn’t find a place to live in such a big city.
Family affection, friendship, and love… They all seem to have left me.
I walked along the street absentmindedly and didn’t know where MY next destination was.
In the park behind me, a woman was pushing a man in a wheelchair for a walk.
“Son, do you still remember this place? You will accompany mom to take a walk here whenever you have time. No matter how busy your work is, you will accompany mom to take a walk here.”
Sitting in a wheelchair, Ben Scott looked around expressionlessly. Everything was strange to him. Those so-called memories were slowly transmitted into this blank brain from the mouth of others.
“It doesn’t matter if you can’t remember it. I’ll repeat it with you. When your leg recovers, I’ll take you to many places. You said you would marry and let me have a grandson.”
Ben Scott didn’t say a word. For so long, he had never felt that anything in front of him overlapped something deep in his mind. Those one-sided words made him increasingly distrust everything around him.
The mother and son walked further and further behind Ceres Taylor. At that moment, there was only a half person high green belt and a few lawn between the two.
“What do you want to eat for lunch? I’ll buy it and make it for you.”
Ben Scott just said lightly, “whatever.”
Jeffrey Scott finished his work in a hurry and booked a restaurant to pick up Ceres Taylor.
When he got home, he found that Ceres Taylor wasn’t there. He knew that she wouldn’t stay at ease, but he didn’t expect her to run around before she recovered.
He took out his phone and found that he hadn’t prepared a communication device for her. Where was he going to find her now?
He drove the car aimlessly along the road. When he was thinking about where she might go back, he took her over and saw her far away in front of the car.
She walked along the road with her head down, looking a little absent-minded.
He drove closer and honked the horn. Then she looked up at him in surprise.
Jeffrey Scott rolled down the window, frowned and asked, “where have you been?”
“… walk around.”
Judging from her absent-minded look, she knew that she couldn’t find Ben Scott. He opened the door of the passenger seat and ordered her, “come in.”
