Olivia
I didn’t recognize him anymore.
The man sitting beside me was not my father. Correct that, not my stepfather.
I wanted to believe that he was cold because he hated me. He never cared about me. But, even so – I wanted him to tell me what I did wrong. One moment he was nice and kind like he wanted to show me how a father should be. But later on, he returned into the same Blake that I always knew.
“Blake? Why don’t you say something?” He continued to look at me. Without a word. Just nothing. “And stop looking at me.” And he scoffed. What the hell?
“You want me to speak to you but you don’t want me to look at you. My turn now, little girl.” He suddenly moved closer to me. I immediately backed away as my back hit the door. He placed his hand beside my head, preventing my only escape. “Do you have any problem?”
His face was too close to me. I never had this kind of situation. Having him right in front of my face. His blue eyes were looking right at me. So cold and deep. Like he wanted me to know what he currently felt. And as if he wanted to see what I’ve been hiding.
“Y-You’re too close. Get off,” I said. I could sense the trembling in my tone.
“Are you sure?”
“Please, Blake. We can’t do this. We’re—”
“Family?” he cut me. “What do you think I’m going to do to you? Hm? Tell me.” He lifted my chin with his finger. “Tell me, Olivia.”
I couldn’t say a word.
I was mute.
For the first time since Blake took me in, this would be the first time that I was scared of him. He was not the Blake I always knew.
“Are you deaf, Olivia? I’m asking you a question and I demand an answer.” Was this the real Blake? He was not the same as Blake from my dream? “Poor little Olivia, looks like you are really deaf. But let’s see if you are mute as well.” I couldn’t adjust his words into my mind on time when suddenly…his lips attached to mine.
My eyes widened.
This was like my dream.
Blake was kissing me!
And he was not just kissing me, he pushed his tongue forcefully into my mouth. “N-No!” I tried to push him but Blake was too strong. He captured my hands and pinned them hard on the window. I could feel the pain but that was not my concern. My attention was on the man whom I considered as my father and he currently kissing me, his daughter.
His kiss was too good to be true.
I never kissed a guy before and Blake’s kisses…was so good and I wanted more. What is wrong with me? We can’t do this. He’s…my father.
With my free legs, I kicked him hard on his stomach as he groaned in pain. I immediately opened the door and ran inside the house. Sprinting my legs to my room and immediately locked the door.
I was scared.
Frightened.
I had to get out from here. I didn’t want to be here anymore. He was not Blake anymore. He was someone else. I searched for my phone from my bag. I looked for Josh’s number. My hands were trembling and couldn’t hold the phone properly. I needed his help. I didn’t—
And there were knocks on my door. I squeaked with the sound and fell to the floor. I looked at the door. Right now, there was a monster standing behind the door.
“Olivia?” he called with such a dark tone. I felt hot. It was not because I didn’t turn on the AC but I was so scared and I was sweating a lot.
Maybe because he kissed you.
My mind won’t shut up. I shook my head. That was not the reason why I was feeling hot.
He grabbed the knob and tried to open the door. It was useless because I locked it. “Olivia, open the door,” he barked. There was no way I would open the door after what he just did to me. “Olivia.” Now his tone sounded so dangerous. “Why are you running away from me, Olive? Don’t you know that a daughter should listen to every of her daddy’s words?” And his question just pissed me off.
“Don’t act like my dad now! You are not my father! You’re just someone who took me in because you married my mother before!” I shouted. This was so painful. I hated the fact that he took me under his wings because I was my mother’s daughter. Maybe he promised my mother that he would protect me.
If that was the case, I’d rather walked away from his house and live by myself. But then…
He punched the door. So hard as he surprised me. “Open the door now, Olivia!” he screamed behind the door. Why he was so different now? Did something happen? Did I do something?
He punched the door again. I couldn’t call Josh for help anymore. I had to get out from here. It was a mistake that I went to the house. I should have run away when I had the chance. I put the phone back inside my bag and went to the window. I jumped out and slowly descend the roof. When I reached down, I immediately ran. As fast as I could.
I had no idea where my legs took me.
I just wanted to be far away from him. From my fucked up father. Until I bumped so hard into someone.
“Whoa! Watch it!” he shouted but I immediately moved away from him.
“I—I’m sorry! I’m in a hurry,” I said quickly.
“H-Hey, Olivia?” the stranger called. I looked up at him slowly.
“J-Josh?” I immediately felt relieved just by meeting him here. Without any thinking, I hugged him tight.
“Olivia? What’s wrong?”
“P-Please, just take me. Take me with you. I don’t want to be with him.”
“Him? You mean…Blake?” I didn’t nod my head. I was just terrified with his attitude today. What just happened? Why he had to act like that?
I could feel his hand wrapped on my shoulders. I looked up at him and he was smiling. A worried smile. “Okay, let’s get you back to my house,” he said. I let him take me to his house. I didn’t want Blake to find me. Although maybe…he already knew that I would go to Josh’s house.
When we reached his house, he allowed me to enter first. I could smell his mom’s great cooking.
“I think she’s in the middle of preparing dinner. I guess she will be very glad having you here,” Josh explained. His mother – Paula had always fond of me. Ever since we knew each other, Paula had a soft spot on me. She was the one who always asked me to move with her after she witnessed how uncaring Blake was towards me.
I looked at Josh and smiled. A forcing smile. “Please don’t tell Paula what happened between me and Blake now. Just tell her that…Blake is not around tonight and I don’t want to have dinner alone,” I asked.
“Sure. But…do you mind to explain what’s going on?” I didn’t know how to answer him. Even I didn’t know what the hell happened. Blake was…weird today. We were talking and we were fine during and after the PTC. He became weird when he began talking about boys. When I suspected him involved with the missing three boys who were recently found. Like he was hiding something.
But then…
He kissed me.
Out of nowhere, he freaking kissed me!
What made it worse…was how my heart beating fast. And how I wanted him more. My body was heating up remembering him.
His kisses.
His strength.
His heavy body.
His hot tongue.
I trembled just by remembering it. I couldn’t have this feeling on him. With my stepfather.
“H-Hey.” Josh suddenly touched my shoulder as I immediately looked at him. “You don’t have to tell me now. Maybe when you are feeling better. Let’s get some dinner so you can calm down.”
“…I’m sorry.”
“Nope. That’s cool. Come on,” he invited as he walked first to the kitchen.
At that time, I knew this was the worst idea. But I chose to ignore it.
