Olivia
PTC was finally over.
I didn’t have anything bad. There was no record of me being so rebellious at school. Although my dad wasn’t that care about me, I didn’t have to do something extreme so he would look at me.
Blake wouldn’t do that.
He didn’t care about me.
He wanted me to be at the top of the class so he didn’t need to be bothered. But still…
“Thanks, Blake. For coming today,” I thanked him. I still gave my gratitude to him. He still tried his best to come for me. “Are you going to eat at home tonight?”
“Yeah. I’ll take you home.”
“What? It’s okay, I can go home by myself. Besides, you still have—”
“I’ve finished all the paper works today. I already made a promise to you so I finished today’s job as quick as possible,” he cut me off. This would be the first time that Blake would do something for me. Usually, whenever he was having an overload of works, he would abandon me and made sure his jobs were finished.
“…Okay,” I replied and he walked past me. I followed him to the parking lot and went inside his Aston Martin. He immediately drove away when he made sure I was already inside the car. I looked outside, watching the buildings we passed by.
“You are indeed a smart student,” Blake suddenly complimented. I looked back at him as he was concentrating on the road in front of him.
“Um, thanks. I need that for the scholarship. So…”
“Have you found the University you wanted?” he asked.
I was lost.
I didn’t know if I should tell him. Well, maybe I should since he was my father. Besides, with me getting the scholarship that means he didn’t need to pay for everything anymore. He would be free. But some part of me refused to know what he was thinking.
“I was thinking…Oxford.” And it was on the time where we stopped at the traffic light. Blake turned his head on me. He was…slightly surprised. Maybe he thought that I might be gone somewhere not too far from him. But Oxford? That was different news.
Big University.
Higher cost, and most importantly…
It was located outside America. In England.
“Why there?”
“Um…” I was a little bit confuse how what to answer. Normally people wouldn’t ask why we chose Oxford. It was one of the prestigious Universities on Earth. Some people would be so glad because they could enter Oxford. For me? I just wanted to get away from him.
“Oxford is nice, isn’t it? I also want to explore a new place. Although I’m still not sure if I will be accepted or not. But no one knows if we don’t try, right?” I thought my answer didn’t convince him at all. Sometimes Blake could read me like an open book. I didn’t want him to see the reason I chose Oxford was mere because I wanted to be away from him. I didn’t want to bother him.
Blake turned his head back on the road and started driving again. Why he didn’t say anything? Was he surprised? Disapprove with my decision? Which one?
“If that’s your dream,” he started. “I will make sure you get the scholarship.” And that was it. That was the trigger. I could only conclude that Blake wanted me out. Maybe I shouldn’t do that. Maybe I shouldn’t push him to give me some answer. This was what I got.
“Y-You don’t have to do that, you know? I don’t want to be a burden for you again.”
“Why is that?” he asked almost immediately.
“I can take care of myself, Blake. I want to try everything by myself. And I got accepted—”
“Is there any boy around you?” His question dropped me. I couldn’t let out a single word.
“What do you mean by that?” No answer from him. “Blake?” My tone sounded demanding. I hated it when he always forced me to give him some answer while he wouldn’t do the same with me. “Blake.” Again, no answer from him. “You know? I think talking with the wall is much better with your attitude like this. I’m asking you a question and I demand an answer,” I forced him.
“…That’s none of your business.” I scoffed with his reply.
“Is it? Because for me, universities and boys are two different things. We were talking about the university that I choose and you suddenly talk about boys. Why are you—”My mind goes directly about those missing who have been found.
They were found barely alive.
I wanted to believe that Blake was not involved with them.
Somebody was so pissed at them and just took revenge on them. An act of brutal revenge.
“You didn’t have anything to do with the boys who have just being found, do you?”
“Why are you asking me that?” And he turned the question on me. “Do you really think that I did something to those poor boys?” His tone was cold as ice. He was between trying to scare me off or he was trying to tell me what he had done.
“I don’t know. I mean, maybe you could but—”he scoffed.
“I could, huh? Do you really think so, Olivia?” Okay, now he scared me. I had to get out from here. And fast.
“Stop the car.” He didn’t do it. “I said, stop the car!” I shouted a bit but he was not affected by me. That’s it, dear father.
“Fine.” I took off the seatbelt and opened the door.
“What the fuck?!” Blake screamed and grabbed my hand. He pulled me strongly. “Are you trying to kill yourself?!” Oh, so that was the way so he would look at me?
“That’s none of your business,” I replied with the same answer that he just gave me. His expression changed. He looked at me for a few seconds until he smirked and let go of my hand. He let me go and without warning, he suddenly drove fast. Too fast, to be precise.
“Blake! What are you doing?!” I screamed. I couldn’t take this. He scared me. He did this before, driving like a maniac, passing the cars in front of him. Jesus Christ! “Blake, please! Stop the car!” And he did. I closed my eyes. Still scared of what just happened. I opened my eyes slowly and looked around. I raised my head and we were already in front of his house.
I turned at him and he was looking at the window in front of him. All I could feel now…was anger.
“What the hell?! Now you’re trying to kill us both! What’s your problem?!” I screamed and slapped his elbow hard. “What’s the matter with you today? You’ve been acting weird. If you had something in the office, don’t let it out on me!”
Blake didn’t react.
His action angered me more.
“Say something, will you!” And that was it. I just captured his attention. He turned his head on me, but I immediately regretted that. All I could see…was not Blake. He was someone else.
Those cold eyes.
I didn’t know those eyes.
He never showed that to me.
“B-Blake?”

Blake
Olivia just crossed the lines.
Or to be precise, I was the one who crossed the lines.
I never expected her to choose Oxford as her priority. She wanted to be away from me. Olivia might not realize it but I knew the reason.
Why did she want to leave me?
Was I too hard on her?
No, I rarely communicated with her now. One thing that popped into my mind because a man had asked her to leave with him. The bastard who wanted to separate Olivia from me.
Josh.
Right, he might be the bastard.
From the first time I knew that kid, I realized he loved my daughter. And the only man who didn’t scare me. Different from those poor brats. I still remembered their eyes when they saw me. When they found out that I was the one who commanded those guys to kidnap them.
They were scared until they pissed their fucking pants.
But Josh was different. He tried to infiltrate my property and took Olivia away from me.
I won’t let him.
I won’t let anyone taking her from me.
This feeling that I had was weird. Taboo. I shouldn’t be having this kind of feeling towards my daughter. She was the daughter of my deceased ex-wife. She didn’t know or maybe she did. That was the reason why we split up.
Because I loved her daughter more than the mother.
