“She did that? It seems like she comes up with a new kind of crazy every single time… there should actually be award shows that hand out crazy people awards” Aiden said over the phone.
Dimitri just sighed, stood up from his chair, and went to stand by the floor-to-ceiling window behind his chair as he stares at the city behind the window.
His mind was everywhere with the results of the investigations and what Audriana had shared with him days ago about Daniella’s evil-doing to her company and all other intentions she has towards them but most especially Audriana and her family.
What other crazy move was she going to pull out this time? Aiden was right, she has lots of crazy in her.
“She wouldn’t need to be nominated for the award because she would be an annual winner of the award” Aiden continued his earlier rants about Daniella.
“I feel like there should be ‘Many Shades of Crazy’ movie and she should be casted as the lead actor seeing as it wouldn’t be hard for her to practice what is already there”
Dimitri wanted to find humor in what Aiden has been saying but he couldn’t help but be worried about his wife’s safety and what next move Daniella wanted to come up with.
He knew that Aiden was trying to make him feel better but what could happen to his wife any moment from now, was what bothered him the most.
“I am just worried about what she is going to plot against Loveth this time around, I can’t be with her always and I want to be sure that she is safe wherever she is… whether or I am there with her or not” he let out a tired sigh and walked away from the window then sat back on his chair.
He stretched on his seat and looked at the picture of Audriana he had framed some weeks into their marriage.
It was a picture of her sleeping and he had taken it when he was sure she wouldn’t wake up any time soon.
He carried it from where it was seated on the table to look closely at the picture and a smile involuntarily made its way to his lips.
It was just funny how he thought he wouldn’t be deserving of love or relationship with any woman and to think that he wouldn’t be able to be expressive to any other woman till Audriana came and showed him a better way of loving.
Loving? Love? Did he love her? He was aware of how much he liked her and how attractive she is to him but love is something bigger, greater… something that held power and strength.
He isn’t sure about the love part but he will just let it be for now and maybe when he gets back from work, they could have ‘The Talk’ and see how strong their likeness and attraction for each other have grown over time.
“Are you even listening to me?” he was interrupted from his thinking by his friend’s voice on the other side of the line.
He brought the frame closer to his lips and placed a kiss there then put it back on the table before replying to his friend.
“Yeah, I am” he answered with a smile.
He knew it, she brought him peace and quiet… just looking at a picture of her had such a huge effect on him already. They really needed to have that talk but he will have to go to the store to grab some groceries to make dinner since it’s his turn to do so and majorly because he loves making her something to eat.
That should be his language that says ‘I care about you’.
“You sound so happy and relaxed, wait let me guess” Aiden paused for dramatic effect before completing his statement.
“Audriana?”
“She brings me peace” he confessed.
“Dude you’re whipped” Aiden gave a short laugh.
“Her presence brings good tidings and a homey feeling same with her absence”
“She is a peaceful girl and although I wished she ended up with me but I am glad she is with the right man… you both complement each other”
“Thank you for not mentioning how close you are with my wife” he chuckled.
“I forgot but now that you have reminded me…”
“Oh please,” Dimitri snorted and stood up from his chair yet again then stretched and walked over to his table to sit on one of the chairs that faced his.
“So, are you guys taking action against her?” he asked.
“Now? No, Love wants to gather enough to ‘put her in her place’ like she has been saying these past days. she has been really stressed out by this and I am already planning another relaxation time for us both to relieve some stress for her mostly”
“You both should take care of each other and no sill comments, okay?” he warned and Dimitri chuckled but stopped in seconds when he heard a little commotion outside his office so he stood up and was about to head for the door when someone he never wished to cross path with came in.
Daniella was standing there in front of him in her a beautiful red-haired glory after bursting into his office with his frantic looking assistant looking between his boss and Daniella in distress and was about to say something when Dimitri dismissed him with his hand while still looking at Danielle.
He had asked himself several times and just recently what he did see in the beautiful red-haired woman and thought that whatever effect she seemed to have on him in the past is gone and he would feel nothing but dislike and annoyance for her whenever he mistakenly crosses path with her but…
Now isn’t the case because when he looked at her, all he could see was the woman he fell in love with four years ago. The woman that made his life and family life a living hell.
The woman that caused his family emotional distress and sadness.
The woman that made him question what the true meaning of love was.
The woman that killed another woman because she was a sick head.
The woman that killed his daughter and tormented him for the past four years.
The woman that left him hanging and wanting comfort by sometimes sleeping with some women he felt was worthy of rubbing his body with.
The woman that made him cry bitter tears, made him sad and depressed that he would drink till he could no longer take any more of it.
The woman that is currently making his wife’s life miserable by throwing crazy stunts here and there.
The woman that did all this damage and still had the guts to stand here in the office with that smile he fell in love with and with her very alluring look that draws him to her every single time.
Even when he is mad at her, that look has its way of making him soft and fall deeply for her.
It was really funny… or ridiculous as he wants to refer it to be that with all these things she had done to him and his family, there was some little part of him that wished all those didn’t happen and still felt something for her.
He was crazy then if that is how is the case.
Maybe he hasn’t truly recovered from all those things and hasn’t fully forgotten about her and all the blissful memories they both shared.
Maybe there was still a part of him that loves her and wished that she didn’t do all those so that they would be cool and could be together.
His phone dropped from his hand to the chair as he continued to watch her with a deep but sad frown on his face.
She smiled when she saw how vulnerable he looked and how hard he was trying to hide how he was feeling as he looked at her.
‘He still loves me’ she concluded within her and walked closer to him in slow steps then when she was some inches closer to him, she dropped her bag and wrapped her arms around his neck then placed a small kiss on his neck as she rests her jaw on his shoulder blades.
He felt weak, he couldn’t push her away or stop her from coming closer to him… he still loves her but isn’t sure if it’s his love for her taking over him or the fact that he didn’t get a proper closure or talk with her that made him this way.
A small tear dropped from his eyes and he wanted to wrap his arms around her too to feel that familiar comfort she gives him every time he felt stressed about anything but just kept his hands by his sides.
About thirty seconds had passed with them in that position and he felt like he had regained the strength he need to keep her away from him, so he wrapped his palm around her arms that held onto him tightly and were about to untangle himself from her hold when the door burs opened.
He didn’t believe that he could feel any weaker when he saw Audriana whose smile was now turned to a frown as she looked at them in that position.
