“Have them sent to my mail so that I can look over it before getting back to you” he said to the man on the other phone.
“Okay, I will do just that, take care,” he said.
“Yeah, and you too” he hung up and put his phone in his pocket as he looked ahead in the thought of what the man told him.
He was seated in his car that was parked in the garage of his company and was going to get out to proceed into the building then to his office when he received the call from his PI about all the things that happened to him and Audriana.
It got him bothered that all those strange things happened to them but it seemed that most of them were made to directly hurt Audriana and not him so that was why aside from the police’s little investigations, he decided to carry out his own so he could find out who is behind them all.
Although, he has an idea of who is the mastermind of it he doesn’t want to come to conclusion about anything he also wanted strong proof that can get her out of wherever she was hiding and away from his and his family’s life for good this time.
He was really suspicious of her coming back to present herself to the entire family after the damage she caused to all of them, most especially him… it was draining just thinking about it.
He didn’t want Audriana to worry too much about anything that was why he decided to keep the investigations as silent as he could so he could find meaningful proof that he could use against her.
She had done enough damage to his family and he needed to stop her from doing anymore because he knows his family wouldn’t be the main target anymore rather Audriana would be the one to face her wrath if he does nothing to stop her.
He has lost a lot in the past and now that he has found someone who gives him peace and makes him happy, he would make sure to protect her in every way that he can so that he doesn’t end up losing her.
Letting out a sigh, he opened his car door and got out with the lunch bag that Audriana had packed for him then closed the door and locked it before proceeding to go inside the building.
When he got inside the elevator, he suddenly felt uneasy… it felt like this day might not go well for him and he wondered what could possibly make his day go wrong?
Maybe it was because he didn’t eat properly before leaving, he thought but the feeling intensified as the elevator got closer to his office floor.
Could there be something unpleasant waiting for him in his office? Could it be someone he wishes not to see? Why is this sick feeling building up so fast?
He wondered but tried to shake it off by imagining how sated he would be when he gets to his office and finished the food she packed for him or how her eyes will glint when he picks up a bunch of lilies for her on his way to work and maybe later take her out on a date.
A romantic one.
Those train of thoughts suddenly brought a wide grin to his lips and then the elevator door opened. He was happy at the thought of his very beautiful glowing wife and even though he can still feel that unpleasant feeling, remembering her brought calmness to him.
So he made a mental note to pick up some flowers for her on his way home and hopefully he wouldn’t be tired from the day’s work so they can go out for dinner.
That sounds like a plan, he smiled and went past his P. A table not after acknowledging his greetings with a smile and a nod before entering his office.
When he entered, everything looked normal and in the place as he left it when he was here last except for a small box that was on top of his desk.
A frown etched his face as he made his way closer to the table and wondered who put it there and knew that when a gift that isn’t from his parents came in, it would stay with the guards till he decided if he wanted to open them or not.
He was about to press the intercom to call his PA in when someone entered his office without knocking so he turned to see it was his PA who he was about to call minutes ago.
Before he could ask who it came from, his PA spoke up.
“She brought it in sir,” he said with wide eyes and Dimitri frowned in confusion t what his PA was telling him.
“She? The ‘she’ has a name right?” he asked with irritation and already getting a hang of who he was referring to but wanted him to confirm for him.
“Daniella Copello sir” he answered in a meek voice and looked down not being able to look into his boss’s eyes as he spoke.
“I told her you don’t accept things like that but she told me that you would understand and I shouldn’t worry about anything since it was a peaceful gift from an old friend” he explained.
Dimitri could blame the poor man since he knows how compelling Daniella can be so he let out a sigh and told him to go back to his table.
The frown never left his face as he looked back at the box then that day suddenly flashed through his mind and he wondered if it was something like that box he received months ago.
He admits that he was somehow scared to open the box and find out what was inside this time around.
Closing his eyes, he took in deep breaths and let them out slowly then he opened his eyes and placed his hands on the box and let out another air before opening it.
Expecting the content to be like the one he received or like the scary one that was delivered to Audriana when they went for their not-so-good honeymoon, none of his thoughts were what he saw inside the box.
Rather, what was inside the box was an envelope that was sealed and he was curious as to what message the paper held that required this much packaging so he proceeds to pick it up and when he did, that mind-blowing yet familiar vanilla scent followed the paper and he suddenly felt light-headed.
This was a scent he told himself he wouldn’t get tired of smelling but now it made him light-headed in a negative way and wished he didn’t have to smell it again at least so he doesn’t get anything of her on him.
‘It has been long Dimitri, get your acts together’ he scolds himself then tried to ignore the scent that lingered in his nose and thought that she might have done it intentionally.
That could be the reason why she kept the paper in a box so that it can hold this part of her that he wants to forget for good all over him.
“It wouldn’t word Daniella” he muttered then opened the paper to read its content.
His eyes scanned through the entire contents of the paper and his eyes widened in shock and fear as he felt his heart rate speed fast.
She possibly couldn’t be serious with that and then his mind went to Audriana and without thinking too much about anything, he grabbed the food bag and went out of his office in a flash to get home with the hope that he will have the chance to explain things to her and she would understand him and the situation.
He needed to tell her before Daniella actually runs her mouth and say anything to her.
She deserves to know about it and it has to be from him she would hear from and not anyone else.
When he got into the compound, he went straight to park his car before getting out and going inside the house to search for her. It was already mid-afternoon and was sure that she was in the house because she told him she isn’t going to the university today.
As he made an entrance into the living room, he saw her bag on the couch and frowned.
‘Did she go out today?’ he asked himself and went up the stairs to check if she was there.
His heart rate picked a bit as he wonders how she would react to it and was worried if she would take it badly or not but he hopes she takes it okay and not burst out or something.
Opening the door, he was faced with a frowning Audriana who was standing at the foot of their bed she was holding a brown envelope with her other hand resting on her hips as she stared at him sadly.
His heart felt heavy as he stared at her and he opened his mouth to ask when she stopped him and spoke but when she did speak up, he wasn’t expecting what she said.
“I know about everything… Daniella Copello, I know about her and about all that happened” she said and he thought he could hear himself gulp loudly.
