“Jeric, you claimed you were faithful to me, but I’m not sure. I just witnessed Alice undress and get personal with you. How can you explain that? Your ‘loyalty’ was where? ”
“No way! This is a misunderstanding. Nothing was going to happen. Alice was so emotional that she stripped in front of me, desiring a taste of the past. But I didn’t touch her, I swear. Dason, I’m not lying to you. I would never betray you! ”
Alice, Jeric, and Bruce might be happy without me, but I couldn’t give up Bruce.
I loved him too much to let go; sadness seeped into my heart.
POV: Daina
Just before bed, I heard a knock. What should I do?
“How could you let this happen, Jeric? I warned you about Alice.”
“I’m sorry. You were right. I let my guard down and I’m paying for it. odd, It’s but she seems different from the innocent girl I used to know.
Teddy’s perspective:
I’d been asking about my two buddies for days.
Almond and I returned to the mountain where Daina discovered me.
We eventually discovered the settlement and Tianna Gary’s log cottage.
I sobbed and waved at two distant individuals.
“Glad I discovered you!”
They seemed ready to work.
They halted when they spotted me.
They ran over, dropping their hoes, astonished.
“I nearly didn’t recognize Pandra.”
They surrounded and scrutinized me.
“You look… different. You’re beaming and energized.
My buddies couldn’t believe how much I’d changed.
I grinned, recalling our first meeting.
Edgar made me recall everything.
“Yes, it’s me, old friends. My true name is Teddy. I’m an elder of the Moonlight Pack.”
“I was delirious previously and caused you a lot of trouble. I’m coming to say thank you and perhaps return your kindness. How are you two?”
Gary said, “Nothing’s changed.”
“Life in the mountain is tough, but at least we’re free and comfortable. By the way, where have you been these days? When we returned, you were nowhere to be found. We thought you were finally caught, and we were sad for a long time.”
Someone found me and took me back to the Moonlight Pack, where a doctor treated me. With my mind clear, we were able to bring my hunters to justice. Now, I don’t have to hide.”
“Teddy, we’re glad to hear that. Your mental condition was in shreds the last time we saw you. Tianna and I always want to have you treated, but we couldn’t risk travelling down the mountain to find a doctor. We’re sorry, Teddy. Luckily, your buddy found you and helped you.”
Gary muttered.
“No, don’t apologize. You’ve done enough for me. Without you, I wouldn’t have lived on this mountain alone. You saved me and befriended me.”
We accepted Tianna ‘s dinner invitation.
“They have a peculiar flavour,”
After dinner, I invited Gary and Tiannato hike with us.
Surprisingly, they exchanged uncertain looks.
“We know you mean well, Teddy, but we can’t reveal our identity.”
I didn’t ask any more questions but hoped they’d rethink. Life on the mountain was free yet challenging.
“Moonlight Pack is safe,”I said to persuade them.
“The former Alpha was impeached, and the new one will keep you secure.”
Gary smiled, “You win, Teddy.”
It’s been a long since we left this mountain. It was becoming dull.
Together, we returned to Rainbow House.
Buther’s viewpoint:
Teddy and Almond had returned, so Daina took me to the hall.
She was excited.
Her kindness made me grin.
I liked her.
Everyone waited for Jeffrey Teddy in the hall.
I looked at his two pals as they entered.
I was shocked to identify them.
When they saw me, they were astonished, but they were dead.
They bowed to me.”We didn’t expect to see you, Mr. Buther. I’m ok. ”
I helped the two up and stared into their eyes.
After some while, I inquired, “What’s up? Supposedly, you Stone river pack troops perished with my father years ago.”
“We’re honored that you remember us, Mr. Stephen Buther. true. We It’s marched alongside your father and Oku. Alas, our troops suffered immense casualties and were almost wiped out. Even Gary and I were seriously injured, laying among a heap of corpses. Oku must’ve thought we were already dead, because he killed your father before our very eyes and left the scene without even looking back.
As Tiannatalked, he cried.
Hearing this stopped my heart.
I suspected Oku killed my father. I was correct.
All these years, I’d been looking for proof to back my allegation.
With Tiannaand Gary’s confirmation, I could finally make Oku pay.
A question bothered me.
“Why didn’t you testify against Oku together?”
“We had no alternative. Oku has been hunting us to destRosry eyewitnesses. We assumed he must have spotted two missing corpses when they swept the battlefield and recognized we had gone. Hiding from him was tough, so we camped in the barren mountain.
“But we vowed to stay alive if it meant exposing Oku’s wrongdoing one day. Maybe it’s destiny that we ran into you today, Mr. Stephen Buther. We are ready to face Oku. Please forgive us for running away earlier.”
“Okay, Mr. Buther.”
They sighed.
“Thank you for your understanding. We’ll do whatever to assist you overturn Oku’s reign,” he said.
Teddy’s pals were Stone River Pack troops, so now I could beat Oku.
The killer of my father must be punished.
POV: Tianna
I can recall the prior Alpha favoring Stephan Buther.
Oku becoming Alpha astonished us.
Everyone knew theprevious Alpha liked Stephan Buther.
Oku probably murdered the previous Alpha to gain the crown.
Oku felt compelled to act since the prior Alpha preferred Stephan Buther.
I hid ever since.
Oku instructed his soldiers to hunt us down because he dreaded being caught.
We met Stephan Buther by chance today. When we saw him, I felt excited.
I was Stone River Pack soldier. I swore fealty to the prior Alpha and saw Oku kill him.
I felt furious yet powerless.
I waited years to revenge the old Alpha.
The chance arrived.
I told Stephan Buther, “We’ll do all we can to uncover the truth about your father’s killing. I hope Oku gets what he deserves.”
Helping Stephan Buther terminate Oku’s rule was necessary to halt this.
