She flushed and bowed.
She was cute.
I don’t know how long we hugged and kissed on that bench until I held her.
We were reminiscing beneath the night sky.
POV: Daina
I’ll call for breakfast in the morning.
I gasped when I saw Dason leave his room with Tannu.
Tannu stared at Dason and sheepishly nodded.
“I’ll be Dason’s mate forever,”
“Congratulations, Tannu!”
Tannu grinned, “Thanks, Daina.”
We descended.
Allen and Dason soon came, one proud and one timid, smiling.
Tannu shouted, “Oh my God, you’re marked!”
She was observant.
“You two couples have moved faster than I expected,” I said.
“Have a celebration supper for you two couples. Allen and Dason are flying back to Stone river pack today,” I said.
“They’re returning? Why?”
It was an overnight decision, so I hadn’t told Dason.
Allen and Dason are going to check on Stephan Buther since I haven’t heard from him in a few days. If everything is OK, they should be back shortly.
Tannu looked puzzled.
“Daina, is Stephan Buther your boyfriend?”
“Yes. I see. You two must adore one other. I’m excited to see what type of partner a lovely she-wolf like you would have.”
Dason informed Tannu, “Daina’s mate is Prince Stephan Buther .”
Tannu was stunned.
“Oh my God! I’ve heard of him and seen him from a distance. When he came to our pack to choose top werewolves for training, it generated a sensation. Daina, you and him are a wonderful match. You two will be together forever.”
“Thanks, Tannu,” I laughed.
As we laughed, the doctor rushed in to tell us Teddy’s mental state had stabilized.
Tannu rushed to call her father as we pondered how to question Teddy.
Dason, Tannu, and I said farewell to my uncle and Dason before seeing Teddy.
Almond’s POV:
Teddy’s destiny after so many years surprised me. He’d gone wild and forgotten everything.
I dispatched several of the top physicians to assist Teddy recuperate quickly.
The following morning, Tannu told me Teddy was awake and quiet.
I raced to the villa after hearing the wonderful news.
We went to Teddy’s room after welcoming Daina and others.
Teddy was sluggish when we arrived. He appeared calmer despite his glazed eyes.
I asked the standing doctor whether Teddy might recuperate overnight.
“We’ve examined him thoroughly. He doesn’t have a significant mental disease, but he hasn’t healed from a trauma. We need someone he knows to interact with him and progressively open his heart.”
Teddy knew me, so I said, “Let me try.”
“Teddy,” I said from the bedside.
He didn’t reply.
When I approached him, he coiled up and retreated.
Teddy hid his head in dread when he saw her and said, “The jinx has returned for my life.”
Due to his emotional outburst, the doctor gave him a tranquilizer.
Allen’s pov
“Maybe Elder Teddy remembers me, but I don’t understand why he’s so terrified of me. Could it be the jinx?”
Daina’s comment was sensible.
I suspected Teddy before, but now I was sure he was behind Daina’s jinx accusations.
Teddy eventually questioned, “Where’s my treasure?”
What’s his treasure? Everyone looked bewildered until Daina, who pulled out an antique.
“I discovered this at Teddy’s mountain home. I don’t know why, but it struck my attention.”
Daina’s calligraphy stunned me.
“Alpha sent the item to Beta Eden as a gift for his efforts, but how did it end up in Teddy’s hands?”
Teddy leaped from the bed, raced over, and grabbed Daina’s calligraphybefore I could finish.
He avoided us.
We came for answers but just got more questions.
Before leaving, we requested the doctor to watch Teddy.
Once Teddy is more comfortable, we may try again.
Alas! What happened to Teddy? What happened?
POV: Daina
I walked home lifeless.
Still thinking about the antique.
Almond’s comment indicated that my father treasured the antique.
As a youngster, I saw it regularly, then it vanished.
My dad gave Eden the antique.
Teddy got the calligraphy how? Had Teddy and Eden reached a deal? What were they thinking? I got a message while I tried to explain.
I checked it expecting Stephan Buther news, but it was from Maria.
“Daina, I know you’re in the Moonlight Pack now. As a member, you may attend our banquet. I’m looking forward to seeing you there.”
Maria and Eden want to invite me to the dinner since I’m here.
If I followed her advice, I’d be in trouble.
Not going wouldn’t end it, however.
Now that Eden knows I’m in his domain, he’ll hunt me down.
I feared staying at Almond’s villa might implicate him in the case.
Almond and Tannu were great. I couldn’t annoy them.
Maria sent me another message while I was undecided, as if she knew I wouldn’t accept.
The Rosryal family of Stone river pack will also be invited since it’s such a significant event.
It was clear that she was hinting Stephan Buther would be there.
Stephan Buther would attend the dinner since I’m in the Moonlight Pack.
After so long apart, I finally saw my partner. I was excited to see Stephan Buther again.
After calming down, I said, “I’ll attend the feast.”
“Are you really going to the banquet? Maria is a horrible lady. She’s attempted to murder you so many times. This must be a trap, right?”
I wouldn’t give up despite Maria’s manipulations.
Stephen Buther’s POV:
I’ve slowly accepted that I’ve lost my memories. My mother’s predicament was more urgent.
This helped me avoid Rona.
She was clingy, coming up unexpectedly and bugging me regularly.
My head hurt just thinking about it. My mother was in a coma with a poor prognosis.
I was despondent and didn’t know who to trust. I gazed at my unconscious mother.
“Mom, please wake up and tell me what happened. Are Rona and I truly in love? I don’t understand why these things are occurring.”
Only Cara was available.
“Stephen Buther, you should be true to how you feel. I don’t like Rona. I don’t want her to be our mate. I strongly doubt we’ll fall in love with her a second time-if we fell for her before. Maybe there’s something we don’t know. We’ve lost part of our memories.”
We can’t afford to worry about anything except Mom’s health right now.
Cara reassured me, “Stephan Buther, everything’s OK.”
The doctor said yesterday that my mum had little chance of waking up.
I cleaned my mother’s forehead while she slept.
The doorbell rang.
