The priest was already sitting inside the mandap.
Ethan was also sitting inside the mandap and was waiting for Emily to join him in the mandap so they could start their wedding rituals.
Ethan suddenly heard Liam’s gasp so he turned his head around to see him. Liam was standing there with his hands on his mouth and his eyes wide open. At first Ethan didn’t understand why Liam was shocked or what made Liam shocked but then when he moved his eyes from Liam to main door of his mansion Ethan eyes popped out.
A familiar figure was walking towards the mandap.
“Wow” Liam exclaimed, whereas Ethan was lost to make a comment or to glared at his this good for nothing friend.
It was Emily in her wedding dress.
Emily wore a cherry red colored bridal lehenga. Emily looked very pretty in her wedding dress.
There were different types of pattern drawn on her bridal lehenga. Gold and platinum wires were used to draw patterns on her dress.
Patterns were drawn such as, a bride and a groom with a floral garland in their hands. The second pattern was bride and groom sitting in front of the fire and performing their wedding rituals. The third one was were the groom was sitting on a horse and the bride was sitting inside a palanquin/sedan chairs as the groom was ready to take his bride with him to their new home to start their new journey. As for her jewelry she wore a royal kundan set.
Emily looked like a goddess on her wedding dress. Ethan couldn’t take off his eyes from his beautiful bride.
Ethan quickly came back from his lala world. A small smile formed from Ethan lips.
The dress was very heavy. It was hard for Emily to walk in the wedding dress. Ethan noticed it and immediately stood up from his placed and walk up to her so he could help her.
Ethan went near her and helped her to walk in the wedding dress by carrying her dress.
They both walked toward the mandap and sat on their seats.
The priest told them to stand up and gave a floral garland to each of them. Emily and Ethan both made each other wear the floral garland.
Then Liam came and gave their wedding rings to each of them. Ethan took Emily’s left hand and put the ring on her ring finger. Then Ethan placed his right hand in front of Emily so that she can put the ring on his ring finger. Emily took his hand and put the ring on his ring finger.
Both the rings were made of platinum. It has a rare blue diamond in the center and there were other white diamonds surrounding the blue diamond. The only difference in the rings were that Emily’s rings diamond was a bit bigger than Ethan’s ring.
After exchanging the rings, the priest told them to sit down on their places as priest started their wedding rituals.
After sometime the priest said, “Call the bride’s father or her brother to do the kanyadaan ritual.”
(Kanyadaan ‘Kanya’ which means daughter and ‘daan’ means donation or giving away. ‘Kanyadaan’ or the ‘giving away the bride’ is a popular Hindu ritual where the father of the bride ‘gives away’ his daughter.)
Emily’s eyes were filled with tear. Her father wasn’t here do the kanyadaan and even if he was here there won’t be any difference as he won’t do this ritual for her.
Emily suddenly remembers Alex’s word. They were sitting near a lake. Alex touched her head and said in a low voice.
“When you will get married then I will do the kanyadaan ritual of yours. You are my sister so I have rights to do it, don’t I?”
“Of course, you will do it brother.” Emily replied sweetly.
A tears escaped from her eyes after remembering her brother’s word. He did promise to do it but he wasn’t here to do the rituals.
Ethan mental cursed himself as he saw tears in her eyes. It hasn’t been a hour since he promised Liam to take care of her and now she was in tears. It didn’t even cross his mind that she needs her brother the most right now.
Liam suddenly stood up from his placed and said with a wide smile on his face. “I will do the kanyadaan ritual. I have already took Emily as little my sister in my heart.”
He then went near her and asked her. “Can I do it, Emily? I never had a sister and from the day we met I felt like you are my sister which I never had.”
Hearing his words it reminded her of her brother, Alex. Moreover she felt secure whenever she was with Liam. He gave her the same feeling as Alex used to give her.
Emily smiled with tears in her eyes and said “Yes brother.”
Liam place his hand on Emily’s head and turned to the priest and said, “I’m her brother, I will do the kanyadaan.”
