Chapter 36

Book:WYMOND, THE CURSED BEAST Published:2024-5-1

Renee’s point of view.
“Get a doctor!” Wymond barked at no one in particular as he climbed the stairs in a hurry towards his room.
He kicked the door open and rushed in, he went straight to his bed and hurriedly but gently laid an unconscious Ara on her belly -not even minding the fact that she’s covered in blood.
His eyes trailed her wounded body and he growled lowly, he pushed some fallen strands hair off her dirty and bloody face.
“Where the hell is the doctor!” he growled impatiently.
He snapped his head towards me with his reddened eyes and his trembling lips as if he’s trying to hold back his tears or anger, even his hands and shoulders were shaking.
Then I saw an emotion in his eyes, an emotion I have never seen him show before or even thought I’d never see him show.
Fear!.
Wymond is the great King of the supernatural world, he’s always had everything under control and he’s never been scared of anything in his thousands of years on earth -in fact, that word doesn’t exist in his dictionary.
But today he is scared, he is scared of losing his mate -which means he has truly fallen deeply for her -he has decided to make her his weakness.
“I said go get a doctor!” he barked at me, I guess he doesn’t even recognize I’m his sister at the moment.
“A maid is….”
A maid rushed interrupting my words, a female doctor also rushed in after her.
“Your Majesty, the doctor’s here” the maid reported.
Wymond pushed the maid aside, almost making her fall as he rushed to the doctor, he grabbed her hand and pulled her to Ara’s side -the doctor was shaking nervously as Wymond held her hand.
I guess being held by the King of all the supernatural creatures puts someone on the edge.
“Quick, treat her and make sure her wounds heal immediately!” he ordered.
The doctor’s eyes widened at Wymond’s order, she looked at Ara’s wounds and quickly fell on her knees.
“Er… your… your Majesty, I….” she couldn’t even speak a complete sentence, but I already have a hint what she’s trying to say.
Taking a deep breath, I stepped closer to Wymond and threw an arm around his shoulders, which he shrugged off and set his eyes on Ara, expecting the doctor to start treatment right away.
“Look how deep those wounds on her back are” I pointed at the wounds on Ara’s back. “Only a miracle worker can make them heal immediately, she’s just a doctor”.
“Doctors heal wounds” he argued.
“Yeah, but with the help of medicine and it takes time” I explained to him.
I wouldn’t blame him for not understanding how these things work, he’s never depended on medicines to heal him because he’s never gotten physically injured or fallen sick before.
“Let’s leave her to do her work for now, then later you can try to heal your mate by yourself, yeah?” I suggestively asked.
“Hm” he simply hummed.
He gave way for the doctor to do her job, but her legs seemed to stayed rooted on their spots -I guess Wymond’s scare her.
I went closer to her and held her hands, then smiled politely at her as I lead her to Ara’s bed.
“Take your time to treat her, don’t rush or fear -no one’s pressuring you” I told her, she nodded, rose to her feet and got into work immediately.
Wymond watched anxiously, but quietly as the doctor ripped off the remaining piece of clothing on Ara and revealed every single wound on Ara’s back.
A low but very angry growl emitted from him as he clenched and unclenched his fists, as though he’s fighting the urge to punch someone or something.
I quickly advise myself to take a few step away from him, before he uses me as his punching bag -I cleared my throat quietly.
“Wymond, Ara is a strong wolf, she’s gonna be fine” I said, trying to console him but that only earned me a snarl in return.
I rolled my eyeballs and walked towards the sitting area in the room, I sat on a sofa where I can still see them clearly.
Wymond watched every movements made by the doctor as she was tending to Ara’s wounds, he’d growl at her if Ara whimpered or flinch slightly.
Ara truly did impressed me, I didn’t know she’d be such a strong wolf but she proved her worth to me -the moon goddess surely has a good reason for making her Wymond’s mate.

Third person’s point of view.
EVERGREEN PACK (The Humphrey’s home).
“Mom, haven’t I had enough punishment?” Arthur whined for the hundredth time.
He squatted and carried a bucket of water above his head, while his mother was cleaning up the living room, pretending as if he wasn’t even there.
He had voluntarily punished himself, since Edward sent him back 35minutes ago.
“Mom!!” he called.
“I didn’t punish you, Arthur” she replied him.
“I know I’m wrong, I’m sorry” he apologized, but his mother ignored him and carry on with her chores.
He dropped the water and walked closer to her, he hugged her sideways and rested his head on her shoulder.
“Baby, I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have sneaked out and made you worried” he said.
“Get away from me” his mother tried to push him off, but he held her tighter and shook his head in disagreement.
“I’m sorry, baby, please forgive me” he paused and kissed her cheek. “I swear I won’t make you worry ever again and….”
He cut himself off and winced as his mother grabbed both his ears and pulled them as hard as she can.
“Ouch, ouch, ouch… it hurts” Arthur cried as his mother pulled his ears. “Mom, let go or you’re gonna cut em’ off” he pleaded.
“I think it’s high time I cut em’ off since they aren’t functioning” she replied.
She let go of his right ear and continued pulling the left ear, she pulled him along to a sofa and reached for his belt which he had carelessly threw there earlier.
Arthur’s eyes widened in fear as he saw the belt, he somehow maneuver and wiggled from his mother’s grip.
“I told you not to leave the house, but you didn’t listen” his mother said, pointing the belt at him. “You sneaked out and even had the guts to go to the battlefield, huh?”
He shook his head quickly.
“I didn’t mean to go there, mom, I was out chilling with my friends when they attacked” he explained.
“Really?”
“Yeah” he nodded. “I was even almost, I mean, very close to banging that elf before I heard about the attack” he grumbled and pouted his lips in disappointment.
His mother’s jaw dropped at his last comment, she breathe heavily as she pointed the belt at him speechlessly.
“Mom, breathe…”
“Breathe?” she threw the belt at him but he dodged it. “You’re killing me and you want me to breathe?”
She reached for whatever she could touch and threw it at him, he dodged and ran towards his room.
He dashed in and slammed the door shut.
“Mom, I’m sorry, I promise I’ll be a good boy next time” he shouted from his room.
“Ah, there’s even a next time?” his mom asked marching towards his room.
He quickly locked it from inside.
“No, no, there will be no next time, I promise”
His mother tapped her chest in consolation.
“I’m furious at him” she grumbled to herself.
