Chapter 89 Escaped captivity

Book:Mia and Mara Published:2024-5-1

At Mia’s orphanage
Mia hugged her pillow very tightly as she looked at the ceiling. What game was destiny trying to play with her?
“Mia” she heard someone call out her name very softly and she immediately recognized the voice.
“Dad” she whispered as she stood up to go lock her door.
“Yes my dear I am here. He appeared in front of her and sat beside her on the bed.
This time he no longer needed the mirror to have a conversation with his daughter although she wouldn’t be able to touch him but it was all thanks to Banshee.
Flashback of “Trapping Arthur’s spirit”
“MIA! MIA!” Arthur kept on calling out to his daughter but she couldn’t hear him. He tried to get out of the water but it felt like the water was solid and it became a strong wall restricting his exit.
“Mia!!” He kept on hitting the water as if banging on a hard metallic door
At Mia’s room that same night
Mia’s necklace didn’t want to stop glowing. It was trying to tell her something and she just couldn’t figure it out on time.
She began to hear someone call out her name, she knew it was her father. She began to search the room with her eyes but she couldn’t see him.
“Mia I am here…Mia!” Her father’s voice kept on getting louder and louder. Mia could hear the voice clearly but she couldn’t figure out where exactly the voice was coming from.
Inside the pool that night.
Arthur was getting tired and he was losing hope. He knew his daughter could hear him, he could sense it but why wasn’t she coming to him?.
If she doesn’t come to save him tonight then he would have to wait for the next full moon and nobody can tell when that would be. What was he going to do now?.
It could be that she wanted to come to him but she didn’t know where exactly he was.
“Mia I am home!” Arthur suddenly screamed out of frustration
At Mia’s orphanage
Mia heard her father talk about home. What home could he be talking about? Mia knew only one home she shared with her father and that was the house her father was m*rd*red.
Could it be the home he was talking about?
Mia teleported to the house…her father’s house.
At Arthur’s house
A heavy wind blew through Mia’s hair as she looked around with her eyes half closed trying to protect them from the sand being blown by the wind.
This house only reminded her of bad memories, she didn’t even want to step on the floor, she remembered how innocent people died and how the whole place was once filled with blood and dead bodies.
It gave her a fright but then her father’s voice could be heard again and this time she could trace the sound, it wasn’t telepathic.
She slowly went close to the pool as she held her own hands in fear. She looked inside only to find her father trapped.
“Dad!” She screamed as she dipped her hand in the pool and tried to pull him out but to no avail. It felt like he kept hitting a wall or something.
“This isn’t going to work Mia…just stretch forth your necklace to the moon”Arthur instructed.
“But dad it’s nearly sunrise” Mia was confused as the moon was going to disappear soon.
“I know just do it now..” her father yelled as he closed his eyes he didn’t want to see the negative outcome.
Mia did as she was instructed and just in the neck of time before the sun could rise.
She was able to tap the moonlight in her necklace and just as her dad had instructed her she threw the necklace into the water and her father was free.
He got out of the water and handed her the necklace, well he dropped it on the floor for her to pick it up.
But there was something different, Mia could see her father without a mirror…maybe it was because of the combination between the necklace powers and that of the full moon light.
Or maybe Banshee had mixed her portions wrong anyway it was…what happened that night was in their favor.
Back to the presence
“I thought you said you’re not visiting for a while till you clear the waters…whatever that means,” Mia looked at her feet.
“She is your sister,” her father replied to her in the strangest way. A way only Mia would reply to someone.
“WHAT?” Mia stared at her father with her bright blue eyes. She didn’t know how she should react to the news…should she be happy that she has a twin or should she be sad that her father had kept such information from her?
“Even I wasn’t aware of this…I recently found out. I wanted to tell you but it seems like fate beat me to to the task” her father tried to reason with her.
“Look Mia…when you were still an infant…as a matter of fact on the day you both were born. The nurse had informed us, your mother and I, that your sister was dead.
Even my brother was there to hear the sad news, but I never knew that my enemy had paid off the nurse to k*ll both of you. I really don’t know what happened, maybe the nurse felt guilty or pity…or she just lacked the courage to get rid of you both.
So she decided to do a half job…she exchanged your sister with a dead child and then she brought you to us, claiming your sister was dead” Arthur was very disappointed that all these happened right under his nose when he was still very much alive.
“So are we going to unite now? Will our story have a happy ending?” Mia looked up to her father.
“Your story my dear child has just begun” Arthur smiled right before he disappeared.
