At Lakshmi’s house
After Lakshmi had dropped Mia at the orphanage on an early Monday morning, she came back home very frustrated as she walked into the house like someone who wasn’t thinking straight.
Her eyes looked somewhere different from where her legs walked. She dragged her school bag like gabbage and sat on the couch, burying her face in between her palms.
Everything that happened that dreadful night kept on playing in her head like a recorded movie, she just couldn’t get herself to stop thinking about it and it was slowly driving her crazy.
She messed up her hair and pinched her face a little out of anger, the worst part of everything was that she wasn’t even able to ask Mia how she managed to save herself from Alyssa.
Her brother carefully observed her from a distance, even though she didn’t know that she was being watched.
“So I am guessing that the school’s sleepover didn’t go as planned” Scott threw an apple in the air and then caught it.
“No it didn’t” Lakshmi murmured and her brother heard her very clearly.
“Why? What exactly went wrong?” Scott asked his sister who was looking very distressed.
“It’s nothing.. nothing happened. I am just tired, I need to get some rest” Lakshmi stood up from the couch dragging her school bag when she bumped into a girl, she wasn’t putting on a maid uniform nor did she look like a cleaner.
Lakshmi had never seen her before so she got a bit startled but when her brother had eye contact with her as he walked up to her then she knew that there was a connection.
“And who is she, Scott?” Lakshmi was very angry, coming home to find some random girl in her house after what had been happening with her lately, wasn’t a pleasant surprise.
“She is.. well she..” Scott kept on scratching the back of his head as he looked at the floor.
“Are you scared of her or what?” The girl suddenly spoke up and it sounded more like she was scolding Scott rather than asking him a random question.
“No baby” Scott replied and immediately swallowed his words.
“Baby??!” Lakshmi’s eyes widened.
“I’m his girlfriend” the girl folded her hands and rested them firmly on her b**’bs as she jiggled them and rolled her eyes while she folded her lips as if challenging Lakshmi to do her worst.
Lakshmi just remained silent as she looked at her half brother and then at his supposed girlfriend who couldn’t even do the favors of saying her name first. Lakshmi stormed out of the living room with anger printed all over her face.
“Emily there was really no need for you to speak to my sister in such a manner” Scott was also very angered by his girlfriend’s behavior.
“What do you mean by that? She asked a question and all I did was give her an answer. I don’t see anything wrong with that” Emily was still trying to be stubborn.
“Your tone was so harsh” Scott pointed out her mistake but Emily just rolled her eyes and walked away.
“Whatever” she waved her hands in the air as he left the sitting room.
Lakshmi’s POV
I have to be the most unfortunate girl in the world honestly. My parents had barely been gone for 2 full weeks and my brother had already started bringing girls into the house.
I was taking off my shoes when I heard a gentle knock on the door. I didn’t even answer since I knew who the jerk was.
I went to have my shower and when I came out of the bathroom, Scott was still knocking at my door.
“Lakshmi, if you open the door for me then I promise to explain everything. Just open the door please” Scott really sounded desperate but I just didn’t care.
“Go back to your f*ck*ng girlfriend okay. I want my peace now, leave me alone!” I shouted at him but he was still too stubborn as he kept on knocking on my door. I was so pissed off that I angrily opened the door and he forced himself in.
He shut the door behind him and pinned me to the wall.
“What is wrong with you Scott? Get off me!” I struggled to push him away when he was just too close to me with his hand above my head.
“Why? Does my presence scare you? Or is it that me being too close to you affects you in a negative way!” He lowered his voice, which became deeper as he talked slowly.
He brought his face closer to mine and now I could hear him breathing and feel his hot breath as well. He brought his lips closer to mine and was about to k*ss me when I covered his mouth with my palm before I used all my strength to push him on the bed.
“Hey!! What was that for?” Scott was furious but just for 5 seconds as he used his fingers to comb his hair backwards and looked at me before he bit his lower lip.
“You are even more beautiful when you are upset” Scott was openly flirting with me.
He grabbed my hand and pulled me towards him, making me fall on top of him while he wrapped his hand around my waist. He caressed my hair slowly and shoved some strands to the back of my ear.
I really couldn’t understand myself as it felt like my heart had stopped beating. I couldn’t tell if it was because I was scared or because I was attracted to my half brother.
He licked his lips again and stared deeply into my eyes.
“Lakshmi” he called out to me and I blinked a few times before I swallowed a lump in my throat.
“Y.. es” I struggled to answer.
“Are you jealous of my girlfriend? Do you want to replace her?” Scott asked, giving me another shock for that week.
