Back at Mia’s school
It was still dark and Mia was still trapped in that bubble, she couldn’t get out but Alyssa’s spell had worn off.
She stood up and let her tears flow, she knew there was no escape for her and when Alyssa returns, she knew that she would surely be dead, nothing was going to save her or so she thought.
She was shaken, when she felt a gentle tap on her shoulder.
“Ahh!” She screamed and closed her eyes while her palms were firmly resting on her ears. She didn’t want to see what horrible creature Alyssa had turned herself into.
“Open your eyes Mia, there is no need to be scared” she heard her father’s voice and slowly opened her eyes. She tried to hug her father but he disappeared and appeared in another part of the bubble.
“Mia!” Arthur called out to his daughter who was very confused as to why he just had to vanish.
“You must never try to touch me because it is impossible. I am dead and you’re living, we cannot have any physical contact whatsoever”
Arthur was saddened by his own words. He had never imagined that he would one day tell this to his own child such things while she was still very young.
She nodded her head vertically as a response and went further to ask.
“How do I get out of here? I’m I stuck here forever? What about Lakshmi?” Mia’s questions didn’t have an end and her necklace glowed.
Just in the blink of an eye she found herself outside the bubble and on the staircase in which the grasses around her disappeared. She looked at how everyone was suffering and wished she could do something to end their pain.
“You can do something Mia, you have a lot of power but you just haven’t discovered it yet” Arthur spoke to his daughter so calmly but his words were what sent goosebumps to Mia’s skin.
“I don’t understand you,” Mia nodded.
“Hold your necklace and concentrate, think deeply about your wishes and you will find them becoming reality” Arthur’s instructions were crystal clear as he was very audible but nothing made sense to Mia.
She kept on thinking how impossible it was scientifically because Mia only believed in the facts that had been established.
“Scientifically it is impossible for you to see such a beast as it doesn’t exist, it is also impossible for you to talk with me after witnessing me being burnt to death.
A Lot of things that happened here tonight are scientifically impossible and you are doubting the ones that I am assuring you are yet to happen. Do as I have instructed you Mia”Arthur’s voice was pleasing but yet ever so commanding.
Mia closed her eyes and did as he had instructed her. She wished that no one except for her friend Lakshmi would remember such a dreadful night.
And when she opened her eyes, her father was gone and the lights were on, the grasses had vanished as everyone was playing games in the hallway.
“Come join us Mia” one of her classmates urged Mia as she had a beautiful smile on her face.
Everyone looked happy except for Lakshmi of course, who was looking very uneasy and scared. Mia walked up to her friend and held her hand, trying to assure her of her safety, even Mia couldn’t understand why she made that gesture but it just felt right to her.
Mia joined everyone sitted on the floor as they were playing a singing game and slowly Lakshmi was calming down but Mia kept on looking at a particular spot, although no one could see it but her father was clearly waving her goodbye as he disappeared into thin air but he didn’t go without telling her to call on him whenever she was in trouble.
“Mia? What are you looking at?” Lakshmi tapped her friend who was lost in her own thoughts, but Mia didn’t respond as she just joined everyone to clap their hands and continue the game.
Alyssa sat on the floor with everyone else as she continued her dad’s pretense, her entire body was burning up within, her anger and range couldn’t be measured.
Mara’s POV
“Good morning mum” I greeted my mum as she kissed my forehead.
“How was your night!” My mum asked and I was battling within myself to give her an answer.
“It was fine.. and your’s, mum?” I asked her.
“Mine was good but I am not quite sure you are telling me the truth” my mum raised an eyebrow as she clearly doubted whether I was saying the truth or not.
“I have already told you mum. I am fine..” I tried to end the topic even if I knew that my mum could go on talking about it forever.
“Mara, I don’t think you should be lying to me. I am your mother you know, I ..”my mum was interrupted when my phone rang. I was more than delighted to pick the call.
“It’s my boss, mum. I have to go to work now” I took my breakfast that I had already packed with me.
“On a Saturday?” My mum looked at me suspiciously.
“Yes mum, bye” I kissed her on the cheek and picked up my backpack taking my breakfast with me.
“Why did you have to take so long before answering my call?” Keren sounded upset.
“I’m sorry, I was with my mum. It’s a long story so what is the delivery for today?” I went straight to the point.
“For today’s delivery I will have to drive you there myself so meet me at Gose park. I will be waiting for you” she instructed and I agreed with her before ending the call.
She is so rich and yet she isn’t so famous?.
Why doesn’t she have company.. like an office or something? It’s very suspicious that each time I had to do a delivery I would have to meet her at different locations which were quite a distant from each other.
As funny as it sounds I really didn’t want to ask her about it neither did I want answers. I just want the money and that’s all.
