Alyssa’s POV
“Alyssa!!!” I heard my mom’s voice , she was calling out to me but why now? Why did she have to call me when I was finally hitting my target, when I finally had Mia where I wanted her. No! I had to ignore my mum’s voice, for the first time I won’t answer her.
“Alyssa!!!” She called out again but this time I could feel some sort of pain in her voice, it was as if she was begging me to come.
” I tied Mia up with a rope and surrounded her with snakes while she was in the bubble but the spell wasn’t going to last for long so I needes to hurry and I cast another spell to teleport myself out of the bubble.
“Mum! ” I called out to my mother as I couldn’t believe my eyes.
My mum was on her bed, rolling and crying out for help, she was calling my name and she had so many bruises in her skin as if she had been flogged all over her body.
Her eyes were still closed and I could tell she wasn’t aware of my arrival
“Mum! Mum mum wake up please.. mum..” I was breaking down in tears, my mum wasn’t responding to any of my calls and for every second that passed, more marks and bruises would appear on her skin.
“Some people can be in a dark nightmare, it is a nightmare wherebye they are trapped in another world in which most at times is a very deadly world. It is very difficult to reach them by calling out their name because it isn’t an ordinary sleep.
The only way to save someone from a dark nightmare is through pain, causing that person physical pain is the only thing that can help the person.
A Lot of people die through their dark nightmares” I recalled the words of my mother while she was teaching me how to cast a particular spell.
I wiped the tears from my eyes and got a knife. I closed my eyes very tightly because I couldn’t believe that I would do this to my own mother as I cut through her skin with the knife and her blood gushed out.
It really disgusted me and I couldn’t even hold the knife any longer as I threw it across the room.
“No!!!” My mum screamed and woke up from her dark nightmare.
“Mum.. mum.. are you okay?” I kept on tapping her as her eyes slowly opened and gradually they were wide open and she looked around very scared. I was also trying to scan the room to see what it was that scared her so much and when I couldn’t find anything I held her shoulders tightly.
“Mum you have to calm down, there is no one here it is just you and I” I covered my mum’s face and I was the only thing she was seeing but she shoved me aside.
“He is here.. I just know it” she kept on looking around and I was left with no other choice but to forcefully sit her down.
“Mum I said get a grip of yourself!” I yelled at her and I ran my hands through her bed only to find it wet.
Wait.. did.. she?, I brought my hand close to my nose to perceive it and I discovered it was urine.
“Mum!” I yelled in surprise as I ran to her bathroom to wash my hands.
It was more than terrifying to be in my own mother’s urine.
Before I came out of the bathroom she had already cleaned the place up and I didn’t need someone to tell me she used magic.
I looked at the spot where I had stabbed her earlier and the wound was still there but the marks that were all over her body earlier had disappeared.
“Mum, now that you are fine. I have to go and complete my mission” I told my mum and was about to snap my fingers so I could disappear.
“Stop! Don’t do it!” My mum surprisingly yelled at me.
“What?!” I asked her with my eyes and mouth wide open.
Was she planning on telling me to retreat or something when I had come this far.
“You heard me Alyssa and hand over your necklace to me” my mother instructed me.
“But mum.. I.. I .. I will lose my powers” I debated but that only earned me a stern look from my mother.
“And what if I refuse” I tried to cast a teleportation spell but I couldn’t move my wrist.
“Alyssa don’t you even think about disobeying me. I am your mother and I know what is best, if I said you should quit then you should ” my mum didn’t look like she was going to change her mind about it but I still couldn’t understand what was going on in her mind.
She gave me so much power so I could kill Mia and get that necklace for her, she had spent two days teaching me all the spells that I would be needing without letting me take a break and she didn’t get a break either so why did she want to throw everything away.
“Mum, are you sure you are okay?!” I kinda scolded my own mother as I tried to release my stiff wrist but ended up casting the wrong spell and I couldn’t move my entire body.
She didn’t even answer me she walked up to me and took off my necklace and it gently glowed for some seconds before she locked it up in a box.
“Why has my own mother chosen to hurt me? Why did you take all my powers from me?!!!” I kept on yelling.
My body was frozen but my mouth was moving just fine.
“Shut up! Just shut up Alyssa! What do you think? That I don’t want to see Mia’s dead body? Do you think I am enjoying this huh? Stop being dramatic because you and I both know that you aren’t going to lose all your powers, now go back to where you came from.
I have alot of thinking to do tomorrow morning” my mother sent me away as she unfroze me and I could finally move my body again.
