Chapter 51 Alyssa’s failed attempt

Book:Mia and Mara Published:2024-5-1

Alyssa was more frustrated than she was angered. All her plans had been ruined.
“Mum! Mum!” She kept on yelling for her mother, without any care that someone outside the school’s bathroom might hear her.
“Alyssa” her mum appeared in front of her, accompanied by a pink glowing dust.
“You have to be careful when you call my name, what if someone hears you and comes in here?” Her mum was scolding her but she didn’t care.
“Then we will kill whoever is brave enough to intervene in my private matter” she clenched her fist and grinned her teeth, she also punched her hand through the bathroom mirror.
“You have to calm down Alyssa, we cannot just go about killing students of your school randomly, you will risk exposing us and by the way you are behaving I can tell that the plan failed, you couldn’t get Mia’s hair right?” Banshee folded her eyes as she tried to focus her gaze on a fuming Alyssa.
“Mum, I was so close, so close mum but that stupid Mia just had to turn around and she flipped my school bag upside down and I was left with no other option than to burn the hair and make it disappear before anyone would notice.
You needed to see the way she attacked me and that nosy friend of hers also attacked me mum, she.. she.. uhhrgh” Alyssa began to pull her hair roughly.
“Stop it ! Hurting yourself is not going to help us in any way. There is nothing we can do now as the plan has flopped already okay? I hope you didn’t expose yourself? I hope you didn’t blow your cover? I mean do they know you aren’t deaf?”
Banshee kept on asking.
“No one knows except for that silly Mia and her friend, luckily I was able to keep up with my act” Alyssa said and her mum was relieved and just then the handle of the door began to turn slowly, someone was about to walk in.
Suddenly, the door flung open and the female student that entered was shocked as she used her hands to cover her mouth , her eyes also widened as she almost couldn’t believe what she saw.
“Alyssa !” She yelled out as she found Alyssa laying on the floor unconscious with a foamy substance coming from her mouth, she ran outside to alert other students and the school authorities as well which in no time an ambulance arrived.
Everywhere became rowdy and classes couldn’t go on as usual. The school discharged all the students earlier than usual.
Alyssa’s POV
At the hospital
I rolled my eyes as they were pushing me on the stretcher trying to get me in the emergency room as soon as possible. How stupid can this people really be?.
It didn’t waste time for them to place me on the bed and I got up immediately.
Everyone froze, nobody could move as the door was locked and the doctors and nurses in the room were unaware of what was happening, they were the ones unconscious except their eyes were open.
“Mom!” Alyssa called out knowing that her mother wasn’t too far from her.
“Yes” Banshee became very visible in front of her daughter.
“You are amazing. Seriously, I never really thought I could pull this off” Alyssa giggled and her mother soon joined her in the ridiculous laughter.
It didn’t take banshee 10 seconds to cast a spell on her own daughter to make it look like she just had food poisoning and she was just in time before the door opened.
“I have to go now. When the doctors finally regain themselves, they will think they have treated you and you just had something you were allergic to, Bye my baby” Banshee kissed Alyssa’s forehead as she soon vanished again.
Lakshmi’s POV
I dragged my school bag on the floor as I struggled to get it in the house, I felt so exhausted and I really couldn’t tell why.
I was perceiving the aroma of something good and very familiar coming from the kitchen, strength miraculously entered my body as I left the school bag on the floor to see what was being made and who was making it.
“You are back” Scott geared his attention towards me as I stood by the kitchen door.
“Yes.. but.. why are you h. e. r. e?” I was dragging my question as I was contemplating the best way to voice it out.
“I’m hungry that’s why” Scott gave a small laugh as he stirred the spaghetti in the pot. I could already perceive the baked chicken as I inhaled, lifting my head up to the ceiling.
“You have to be careful or else you will hurt your neck” Scott was being sarcastic.
“Ha ha, very funny” I faked a laugh.
“Scott.” I called him with a low tone.
“Yes lil sis” he replied and dropped the spoon he was using to stir the food.
“I’m really sorry for how I treated you the other day. It really wasn’t right, I hope you will forgive me” I said almost in a whisper as I focused my sight on the floor, looking at nothing in particular. I just couldn’t get myself to look at him.
“Siblings fight but that doesn’t mean they hate each other” he shrugged and came closer to hug me. But this time it felt normal, I didn’t feel like I was in love or something, I just felt comfortable. Maybe, Mia was right, it was all just in my head.
“So does that mean that you have forgiven me?” I looked up at him while I was still in his embrace.
“Yes,” he smiled.
“If that’s the case please give me some of the food you made. I am starving and the aroma isn’t helping the situation” I blinked my eyes and folded my lips like a child asking for candy.
“Very funny. I actually made it for both of us, mom and dad aren’t home” Scott laughed and began to dish out the food.
