Sofia’s pov
“Don’t wake the birds up, bunny.” Luca said while laughing softly but I paid him no heed, bouncing on my heels and screaming my lungs off.
Once I finally stopped to catch my breath, I was panting and my face was stretched in such a broad grin, my cheeks were hurting a little, which is definitely because of how much I grinned tonight.
“Luca!” I exclaimed, throwing my arms around his throat while he laughed and spinned me around a couple of times.
“You’re the best!” I cried out once my feet met the sort of warm feeling of the sand and Luca laughed, brows arching as he leaned down to press a kiss against my forehead.
“That’s all you, bunny, for being a fucking perfect person.” Luca responded and I rolled my eyes, not feeling sirprer that he was moving the compliment to me like he does most of the time. I couldn’t even bring myself to act like I’m mad about that, because I really wasn’t, there were other things on my mind right now, like how Luca obviously had more things planned tonight.
“I cannot believe you right now!” I exclaimed with a laugh, bouncing a little as I spoke.
“Are you excited?” He asked and my mouth fell open as I regarded him like he had suddenly grown two heads.
“Of course I am! Isn’t that starkly obvious?”
Luca snickered, his hand slipping over my waist to cup my left asscheeks provocatively.
“I could faint from excitement right now.” I exclaimed once again as I pressed my head against my forehead in a really dramatic way. Luca’s eyes widened a little, worry in his voice as he spoke.
“Are you dizzy? You’re really about to faint?” He demanded worriedly and I rolled my eyes as I shook my head and leaned up to brush a kiss against his cheeks.
“I’m not fainting, it was a form of exclamation.” I explained and Luca exhaled in relief, making me giggle at how he sometimes falls for things like that.
“I couldn’t help it, I imagined you fainting right now and I panicked cause there’s no water around us right now, or anyone who can help us as well.” He explained and then he looked at my face closely once again. “Are you sure you aren’t about to faint?”
I shook my head and tugged on his wrist, wriggling out of his grip. “Yes, I am! Now, let’s go already!”
Luca let out a chuckle as he fell into steps beside me. “Alright, let’s go already.”
“But, no running.” He admonished when I attempted to do just that because Luca and I were not walking as fast as I’d have loved to do.
“I don’t want you getting dizzy, which could lead to losing consciousness.” He explained when I poured at him and a grin replaced that in a second because I couldn’t fault him for being extra careful. It even warned my heart that he was being this careful when I clearly wasn’t.
After that, I settled with entwining my hand with Luca’s and swinging it around between us as we walked. As we headed even further, so did the flowers’ petals increase in size, growing even bigger as we walked further, which I’d like to imagine were an indication that we were nearing our destination.
A faint hue slowly began to become brighter as we moved farther even more, increasing my curiosity so much. When I finally sighted candles, I let out an excited sound. I had hoped that Luca would do something sweet for me tonight, but I had never thought that he’d go out of his way to do all of this for me tonight.
My jaw was on the ground as I walked through the candles which were all covered by a transparent cover to protect it from the wind.
“Oh my god.” I whispered in awe, a bright smile setting on my face.
The table was set so beautifully, it made my heart ache. Multiple flowers were arranged around the table, and some sort of fort was built around the table consisting of White and red ribbons and flowers. A white material was also used in the decoration in order to create this masterpiece.
When Luca helped pull out my seat, he gave me a warm look that made my stomach curl up with so much heat that I almost choked on my champagne the next moment.
“This is the best night I’ve ever had in my life.” I whispered, meaning every word as I stared across the table at Luca whose eyes were filled with so much emotions as it gleaned beautifully in the candlelit atmosphere.
Luca tugged out something from his pocket and walked around me to slip a– a necklace around my throat, and as he did the clasp on, tears slid down my cheeks because, never did imagine this night would be half as beautiful as it currently is.
“Thank you,” I whispered as I stared at the pendant of the necklace around my throat, and I noticed that it was gold this time. The pendant of the necklace gleamed so beautifully, I knew it must have cost a whole lot. The shape of the pendant was also that of a bunny, which made me let out a wet giggle. At that moment, I promised myself that I wouldn’t ever take this necklace off except whenever I really needed to.
Two men dressed in white emerged after some time to served us some food, and it consisted of so many food, and I made sure to have a little of everything.
“I have another gift for you.” Luca suddenly spoke and my eyes widened, wondering what else it was that he was yet to gift me.
“Another?!”
“It’s nothing exciting.” He reassured and then he pulled out when looked like a square shaped vase from his suit, and then he opened it, revealing a gold necklace that gleaned brightly, with the pendant being a tiara shape and also having the mafia’s logo on it, which made my heartbeat quicken.
“This is a necklace that the wife of any reigning mafia lord is supposed to own, and that’s when they deserved it.” He paused and it felt like my chest was about to burst open.
“My father didn’t give his to my mother because he felt like she didn’t deserve it.”
“I’m so sorry.” I whispered in a small voice but Luca waved me off.
“It signifies power, and automatically demands respect. It also signifies beauty, because– what’s a Mafia Lord’s queen without her looks which she can use to lure in the enemies?”
