Sofia’s POV
I allowed my eyes to slide open after a little while and I started to absent mindedly move my feet a little, loving how cute my feet looked at this very moment, as it looked all clad in a pair of pop socks and a pair of sandals coupled with some really thin straps. I puffed out a deep breath and dragged in another one in tbe very next second, the fact that I was planning to start the whole painting thing today, even though I knew perfectly well that I hadn’t started to watch any kind of tutorial video relating to painting yet.
I knew that I could just start watching one of those videos right now, since it wasn’t like I was actually doing a single thing at this very moment, but I still wasn’t feeling really up for it.
Perhaps I’d start to watch them after I have gotten some food into my stomach as well as all of my drugs. And if I end up setting up the whole place where I’d be painting in, I might just not start a thing yet if time have already gone too much in today, and might as well shift the main thing to tomorrow.
I slowly started to sit up and I puffed out the breath which I had dragged into my lungs moments ago, loving how my chest was expanding and tightening up only to expand after a few seconds. I lifted my fingers up to brush the few whips of hair which I had left out of tne hair which I had packed behind my head, and when it got all tangled with my two fingers, I had to add my second hand into the mix, in order to get the hair untangled for the two fingers of my other hand, without pulling on my hair way too much.
I suddenly felt like turning on the television and checking if there was going to be something on there evigh would be enough to hold my attention for now, at least until my breakfast gets ready.
I moved myself into a more straighter sitting position after a few more seconds, and then I picked up my phone from the top of my skirt, and then I raised the ohone across my face, in order for the automatic face scanner in the top of my phone to scan over my face and get the phone automatically unlocked that way. As soon as tbe phone gets unlocked, my eyes moved towards the left upwards side of the phone to zero in on the time.
It was currently some minutes after twelve p. m, which means we weren’t in the morning anymore and were now in the afternoon.
I started to wonder where the body guards were, because it was unusual for me to see one of them wander through the house in order for them to perform their normal check up around the house, even though I wasn’t going anywhere that particular day. And today, it’s been hours since I’ve been awake and I haven’t seen any sign of them.
I even wanted to ask them a few things, that was one of the reasons why my mind has slowly wandered towards their directions, some moments ago.
I wanted to ask them if their boss, my husband, had relayed some messages to them and for them to tell me what those said messages were immediately. I knew that Luca was going to be leaving a message behind for me, that he was going to be leaving it with them, and not with Matilda or Sarah. I could tell starting from the second day after I had gotten married to Luca, the whole message which he was supposed to say to me, he had passed it unto the guards, and the guards had been tbe one to even introduce me to Sarah, and not the other way round.
So, I was like a hundred percent sure, or at least almost a hundred percent sure, that Luca had indeed left a message for me, that it was going to be with tbe guards.
But they were currently no where to be found.
If Luca had indeed left a message for me with them, aren’t they supposed to have come into tne house to come find me already?
I huffed out a breath and leaned my head against the head rest of the couch, allowing my eyes to slide shut but not completely shut, so it was opened a little bit in a tiny slitted shape.
I started to chew on my lower lips while running my fingers through the hairs on the couch right before I felt a presence in the sitting room. I was sitting straight in an instant and was staring into the direction of the doorway which led into tne sitting room in the next second, my eyes landed on tne small stature of Sarah almost immediately.
A small breath which I hadn’t realized that I had sucked into my throat, a fleeting second ago, whooshed out of my throat in an instant.
“Good morning, Sofia.” I heard Sarah breath out after a few moments and she continued to speak before I could even start to speak, “I am so sorry if I had scared you for a moment back there, it wasn’t in my intentions.” I heard her say that to me and I felt my head move in a nodding motion as soon as those words sinked into my head, she had indeed scared me back there.
Who had I been thinking was going to show up at the doorway though? A part of my mind had thought it was going to be Luca, and that he wasn’t out in work like I had automatically thought this morning as soon as I had woken up this morning, and that he had indeed been in his office all these while without me knowing.
But it had turned out to be Sarah, someone whom my mind hadn’t ever crossed past for a moment.
I lifted my face upward until I was staring up at Sarah and I began to speak at that. “It’s alright. I just didn’t think anyone was going to come in here a while ago, which was why I had gotten so startled.” I said to her and watched as she nodded her head while slowly pressing her thumb against the side of her throat.
“Well, even if someone was going to be coming in here, it was going to be no one but Matilda or myself.” Sarah paused for a second before continuing after a moment. “It will also be one of your guards, or both. But note that it can never be any kind of bad guy, this whole house is heavily guarded and no harm can befall you in here.” She completed what she was saying and I nodded my head at her, feeling my heart moving mad weirdly in tbe midst of my chest as her words sank into my head, the fact that the whole house was said to be heavily guarded only managed to make me feel a weird kind of feeling which I’d rather not think too much about at this very moment.
“That very good then.” I felt myself mumble out and watched as Sarah nodded her head at me before she started moving towards the cough which was closet to her, and as soon as she started to dust the couch which I had thought she was about to sit in, that was when my eyes dropped downwards to notice the equipments used to vacuum couches clutched in her two hands.
I chewed on the other part of my lower lip and watched from the side of my eyes as Sarah moved from the chest couch, towards tbe second cough, dusting and sucking out whatever dust which was in the hairs of tne couch, with the help of the thing that resembled a vacuum cleaner.
Matilda made my way a few feet into the sitting room and I noticed immediately, and I dragged my eyes off Sarah to focus my gaze on Matilda’s form.
“Your food is ready, Sofia. I set them on tne table in the dining room.” Matilda announced as soon as she noticed that I was already staring at her.
I nodded at her as I pushed myself up to my feet as I started to speak. “You guys aren’t having breakfast?” I said to her, dragging my eyes towards Sarah’s bent form before moving it back to Matilda’s face.
“Oh, we already had breakfast.”
