As Macy was being dragged away by Richard, what she did not know was that she had created quite the stir in DC as a whole.
When she was doing it, she wanted to just shame Angela and make people hate her and at least let everyone know that Angela was a fake but what she hadn’t banked on was the fact that it was now going to be a police case.
She and May had called some tabloid journalists and they had put a small microphone on Macy and whatever she and Angela were discussing was being transformed through video and audio.
At the start of the broadcast, only a few hundred people were tuned n but word spread like bush fire when people realized that the famous actress the tabloids had talked about was actually Angelica Philips.
No one could believe that the woman who had an angelic smile just like her name was a devil reincarnate.
If they hadn’t seen and heard it by and for themselves, they would have thought that someone somewhere wanted to tarnish the name of the queen.
If Macy had just transmitted only audio, Angela’s fans would have twisted it and said that someone was imitating her vice.
Even after the live broadcast where Angela confessed to all her wrong doing, some of her fans still insisted that it wasn’t her but a double.
There was a war in the internet with majority condemning Angela and a few defending her.
Andy was in his home office working on some documents waiting for Angela’s call to pick her because she had told him that she was taking Macy for dinner and then he would call him to pick her up because she would drink.
“My love, you know Macy likes to drink, right? She might force me to drink with her and I will call you to pick me up because I can’t drive while drunk,” she had said and he had agreed.
He had never denied her anything because according to him, she was always there for him even when Macy betrayed him.
He had already let his secretary and driver go because they had closed for the night but he got a call from his secretary and he wondered what the other man could have forgotten to tell him.
“Hello? Did you forget anything?” Andy asked while he concentrated on the mail he was reading.
“Sir, are you watching the TV?” The man sked his boss in a trembling voice.
“No. why? Is there any breaking news affecting our new project? I thought we had finished everything and we were only waiting for their signatures,” Andy asked panicked as he stood from his office seat and went to the coffee table to pick the remote.
“No. Sir… I … I… it has nothing to do with the merger. It is just…. ai!” The man sighed as he didn’t know how to say what he had just seen.
“What is wrong Martin? Just say it already!” Andy shouted exasperated as he switched on the TV.
“Sir, just…. Just… just go to channel 245,” the man said and hang up quickly before his boss asked more questions.
Andy searched for the channel and he was surprised to see that it wasn’t a news or a business channel but an entertainment channel.
He wondered whether he had made a mistake in the channel number Martin had just given him when he looked at it and thought that he had seen long.
“Is that Angela?” He asked no one in particular as he took a closer look.
It definitely was his wife.
He didn’t understand what she was doing on TV until he looked and listened closely and that was when he realised that she was being filmed through a hidden camera because the image was slightly tilted dn round.
“You should have taken my warning when I drugged you the first time and made you sleep with a thug and you were so gullible to think that it was Andy you had slept with.
And talking of Andy, I wish I hadn’t taken him from you.
He’s so boring even in bed that I have to look for other men to satisfy me.
What did you see in him anyway? Except for the fact that he is loaded and is a CEO, I wouldn’t be with him.
I regret ever getting married to him,” those were the words that Andy heard the moment he listened to what his wife was saying on the screen.
“What?” Is that a movie she is rehearsing for?” Andy asked himself as he settled at the edge of the big sofa.
He thought that Angela was acting and that was why she was in an entertainment channel.
He listened and then heard Macy’s voice and although he didn’t want to believe it, Angela didn’t seem to know that she was being filmed.
Andy took his phone in panic and tried calling her but it was turned off.
He then called Martin.
“Sir? You have seen it right? It seems like someone is filming madam without her knowledge but the things she is saying.
It started with a few hundred people tuned in but now it is in the hundreds,” Martin said and for a moment, Andy forgot why he had called.
“Oh, have you tried finding out where she is?” Andy asked his secretary.
“Yes, but her phone is switched off and her car was left at the hotel where they were partying.
We sent people there and they found her friends having a … they were… oh…” the man sighed because there were some topics he and his boss had never talked about.
“Having a what Martin?” Andy asked in irritation.
He wondered why this man didn’t see the urgency of the situations and kept eating words when he didn’t know where his wife was and why she was saying all those things.
“They were… I… ahem! They were having an orgy sir,” the man said the last part very quickly and I a very small noise.
“They were also being filmed and that was how we were able to find them because I at first thought that madam was with them.
I was later informed that she is in that channel and from what I found out, she is the one who paid the tabloid journalists.
I don’t understand whys he would pay them to tarnish her name,” Martin said voicing Andy’s thoughts.
If it was true that Angela had paid them, why then would she go and say all those things on camera?
“Keep looking for her. When you find out where she is, call me immediately,” Andy said and hang up as he sat up well to watch and listen to the woman who was his wife.
Within ten minutes, Andy wondered how he ever thought that he knew Angela.
He wondered when he had ever known he if what he was seeing was her true colours.
He had already realized that owner of the voice that was asking Angela questions behind the camera was Macy and at first, he was angry at Macy because he thought that, like Angela always said, Macy hated her and she wanted to shame and embarrass Angela publicly.
But as he continued listening, he realized that that was who Angela was and they all had fallen for her lies and deceit.
He had believed her over Macy and he realized then how much he had wronged Macy but there was nothing he could do since it was all done.
He decided to call Macy and beg her to stop whatever she was doing and they would talk about it as a family later and solve everything.
He scrolled through his phone and got to Macy’s new number.
He had borrowed the phone number from the record of the movie they had just shot because he had also invested in the movie because Angela wanted to have a say until the huge investment from the person who asked for Macy came in.
He looked at the row of numbers for a while then looked at the TV again.
His heart was falling with each thing that came from the mouth of Angela and he wondered how he never knew what kind of a person she was.
“So, she thinks of me as an idiot?” He wondered loudly as he finally pressed the call button.
His heart blackened as he thought that Angela loved him genuinely because that was what she was showing every time they were together but now he knew the truth.
He looked at her and listened to what she was saying as he put his phone to his ear and listened as it connected.
“You see, when I discovered that I wasn’t a Philip, I had to secure my future. I had to make sure that all they had would go to me.
I thus had to eliminate any competition there was and I drowned him in the pool,” Angela continued talking and this time, she was talking of how she killed her brother and she was even smiling.
“So, she is not only a cheat but a murderer too?” Andy asked no one since he was alone and he heard the call connect and someone picked.
