As May and Macy were setting up Angela, Richard had just arrived home and he was playing with his girl.
They both had missed each other so much and Melvin couldn’t be happier.
She had a bucket load of information to tell her father.
Her uncle Asher was busy stealing an election and he thus couldn’t make it. Richard wanted to make sure that Asher did it before he went back and made sure that General Jose became the president and eliminated any person who would have thought of playing foul.
On the set of the movie Major Calamities, investigations were underway and the props manager had been arrested as he tried to flee the country.
He had run away immediately when the first bomb detonated and he knew that if the one Macy was holding was to go off, he would be arrested for murder.
In short, he had grown cold feet at the last moment.
Reports from the bomb experts had already revealed where the bombs had been bought and with the help of the props manager who agreed to act as a state witness and get his sentence reduced, they were able to trace the person.
According to the manager, he was approached by someone he didn’t know who offered him good money and promised him that nothing bad would happen, he would be cushioned.
He didn’t know who the person was and he couldn’t give any description because the person never appeared to him during the day and he would always stand in the shadows whenever they met. All he knew was that the other was a woman.
They traced the money trail from the purchase of the bombs and the card used was Angela’s.
Finally, Angela was where Macy wanted her. It was finally time.
Angela was called in for questioning and as was expected, the whole family went with her. From her father and mother, her husband and her in-laws.
She had all the support anyone could get.
Her lawyers were also present.
After hours and hours of interrogation, it was the manager, Julia, who went down.
Apparently, Julia confessed to everything.
She was the one who stole Angela’s card and paid the man who brought her the bombs and she was also the person who was meeting with the props manager in disguise.
When asked why she did it, she said it was because she wanted to frame another character in the shooting scene.
She, however, refused to say who she wanted to frame but even without being told, everyone who heard it could tell that she wanted to get rid of Macy because how come the bomb that Macy was holding was real.
It was supposed to be a definite city prop that looked like a bomb. How then I’d it get switched and why?
All given, things didn’t go as Macy wanted.
She, however, gritted her teeth and said there would always be a next time.
Today, shooting had resumed though everyone looked at Angela weirdly.
They all couldn’t believe that she didn’t know what her manager had done. How could she have not realised that that kind of money had been withdrawn from her account? It wasn’t believable.
Thus, many people avoided her and she wasn’t as popular as she was on set as she had been before that. The only person who stood by her was her new manager and her assistant who was as timid as always.
Angela saw this and decided to rectify the situation the best way she knew how.
At lunch time, everyone wanted to go for lunch as usual in the area where food was prepared for the crew but before the last scene could be finished, goods arrived from a famous hotel.
It was a three star restaurant and was famous for their Asian dishes.
After the director told everyone to go for the day, Angela stood up with a smile and she had even borrowed a microphone from a father who didn’t know how to say no.
“Everyone, sorry for the interruption but I have something to say,” she began. “I am terribly sorry for what my manager, sorry, my former manager did.
What she did put not only Macy who was holding the bomb in danger but us all. I don’t even want to imagine what would have happened if I was in my trailer at the time it went off.
So, again, allow me to say sorry.
And as a way of showing my sincerity, my husband and I have decided to treat you for lunch. Please accept it as my apology and my sincerity,” Angela finished and then seemed to remember something.
“Oh, I didn’t know what type of Asian food each person would like and so, we ordered all types of dishes. There are Indian, Thai, Chinese, and Japanese too. Please eat all you can. Don’t be shy. Macy, I’m sorry for everything,” she finished and returned the microphone with a shy smile.
When everyone turned, as she had said, there were rows and rows of food and people couldn’t be happier.
At least this day, they would have something different from what was offered in the cafe.
Macy and May also took food because they were sure this was not poisoned.
This was because it had been brought in bulk and there wasn’t what belonged to who.
Macy had lived in China and she thus was used to Chinese food and she had missed it. She thus took a Chinese package and Macy took Indian.
May loved spicy food and nothing could beat Indian dishes.
They walked towards an isolated area where Macy would eat while May helped her go through the script for the afternoon scenes.
As they were busy eating and practising, they heard a person walk their way. They turned and Angela was standing there with a smile and it couldn’t be more fake.
“Macy, may I talk to you?” She asked very politely.
Macy wondered why she should be that polite and there wasn’t anyone with them. She wondered what Angela was up to.
“What do you want? And you can stop pretending. No one is here to see your award-worthy performance,” Macy said, still seated where she was.
“Macy, we are sisters. Why are you talking like that? I came to apologise for what Julia did,” she said in a wronged voice and Macy felt suffocated.
“Oh, please, Angela, you and I both know that it was all your doing and Julia took the fall for you. Did you think it’s easy to kill me?” Macy asked with a sneer.
“Macy, big sister, please don’t be like that. I apologise for Julia but even if she wanted to hurt you, I didn’t know about it. I swear,” by now, Angela was shedding tears.
“Yeah, right,” Macy scoffed and ignored her.
“Big sis, could it be that you are still angry at me for what I did? I didn’t want to take Andy from you but you know, we were in love. He loves me and I love him and so… I am sorry,” Angela said while crying a river of tears sand it was at that time Macy saw him.
She hadn’t realised that he was there and now she understood the act Angela was putting on.
“You should have told me that your puppet was there. I would have stood up and given you a slap to make the act more believable.
Now, get out. I am working. And oh, thanks for lunch,” Macy said and it was at that time Andy walked towards them.
“Angie, baby, come here,” he said as he hugged her.
“Macy, I already told you. If you are angry at someone, it should be me. I am the one who fell in love with Angela,” Andy said, feeling all important.
“CEO Andy, has it occurred to you that since I returned it is you two who always look for me? Have I ever come looking for you or her?
Have I ever talked to you or her? Every time, it’s either you or her who comes looking for trouble.
Now, I will say this once and you better listen because I won’t repeat it. The next time any of you come provoking me, I will break one leg. If you do it again, I will break your other leg.
Maybe, with broken legs, you will stay in your lane. May, let’s go to our trailer, this area has been infested with fleas and flies.
They are buzzing all over and we can’t concentrate,” Macy said as she took her script and May carried their unfinished food.
Andy stood there wondering what to say because it was true what Macy had said.
Even today it was Angela who walked towards Macy and not Macy.
Macy and May walked towards their trailer and May was all praises for her.
“Way to go boss. Did you see the looks in their faces? Andy looked constipated and Angela looked like she had a bad case of diarrhoea.
It was so funny,” May laughed and her good mood affected Macy who looked at her and smiled.
“I’m glad you enjoyed the show,” Macy said with a smile.
“Of course. But if you need their legs broken, all you have to do is say. It will never be traced back to us,” May said and Macy gave her a knowing smile.
“All in due time,” Macy said and they opened their food and started eating again.
