Chapter 49 Ring And Needle

Book:The Ice Prince Published:2024-5-1

“His name is Shankar. He is a warden guarding a special prison block,” said Tom, showing the profile of Shankar, the warden who helps Tia keep an eye on Dean. “He once received help from Gray, when his sister was arrested by the police for being involved in a smuggling case.”
“So, he is willing to help Tia to repay the debt to Gray?” said Flynt.
“Yes. He was transferred specifically to Gray’s private cell one month after Gray was arrested and has recently been seen frequently outside the correctional facility,” continued Lamar.
“Okay. I’ll call you guys later. Please take good care of Dean for me.”
“I can take care of myself, idiot!” shouted Dean from the background, followed by Peter and Kay’s laughter.
Flynt sighed. “Baby, I love you. Don’t be mad, I will be back soon. Let me take care of those bugs, first, ok? I love you.”
“Stupid wolf!” Dean mumbled.
Flynt sighed again and shut off the phone. Dean was really mad at him and he couldn’t talk to his boyfriend because Dean wouldn’t take his calls.
“Flynt, what should we do with her?” asked Park, pointing to the bathroom, where Tia was still tied up.
Maxine came into the room whistling. “I’ve sent the pictures of the woman to the central penitentiary. Tomorrow morning Gray will receive it,” said Maxine.
“Just leave her there. Just handcuff one hand to the curtain rod and feed her enough and give a pillow and blanket for her to sleep on,” said Flynt coldly. “He should be bullied for hurting Dean.”
“I will call my friend to clean it and also the bathroom,” said Park. He goes out to make a call.
“What did Tom say?” Maxine asked.
“He’s found the warden who’s always with Tia,” Flynt replied. “Seeing his movements, I suspect that he is moving to do something on behalf of Gray.”
“Flynt, if Gray tries to do something again, then we have to contact your family to sort this out, because I’m sure, this time Gray is not only after you, but he also intends to do something to your family,” said Maxine in a serious tone. “Do we need to call Uncle Brazier?”
“I guess so,” Flynt answered dubiously.
“At least if Uncle Brazier finds out, he’ll be able to protect Dean well.” Said Maxine.
Park returned to the room with a stiff-faced middle-aged woman. The woman was carrying a trolley filled with cleaning supplies. She nodded to Flynt and Maxine then went straight to the bathroom.
Not long after, Tia’s repeated screams of pain were heard in the bathroom.
Park laughed wryly. “I forgot that we use semi-permanent paint. Once cleaned the woman will definitely look like she’s really been tortured than when we just pretended to make her look like that.”
Flynt chuckled. He and Park had made Tia feel like she had been tortured so badly. They gave Tia a drink with sleeping pills in it and with help an effects painter Maxine knew, Tia was painted with all sorts of bruises, bloody cuts, and lacerations.
The bathroom was also converted into a dirty and dingy bathroom set. Maxine then takes the photos and sends them to Gray.
“It’s done, gentlemen,” said the middle-aged woman, coming out of the bathroom. “That woman is quite difficult to clean and it seems that for the next few months, she will need a lot of make-up to cover her red skin as I scrubbed her a bit too hard.”
Flynt, Maxine, and Park burst out laughing. Park ushers the woman out while giving her a tip.
“I already told Uncle Brazier and he asked that we don’t have to tell anyone in my family. He will take care of it himself, he said” Flynt said while showing a message from Uncle Brazier.
“What’s he going to do,” Park muttered in horror.
“Tonight we take turns guarding here. I’ve opened another room next to this room for rest for those who are not on guard. We need to monitor Gray’s movements after he receives the photos,” said Flynt. “Tia will be our hostage.”
“Mike will follow Shankar and give us the news.” Said Park.
Meanwhile, Dean decides to return to the hospital because he has to work. Lamar insisted that Dean wear a tracking device on his phone and bring a zapping device that he had modified for personal protection.
Peter and Kay also swap schedules with their friends so they can be with Dean. They thought, Shankar might suspect Dean had hidden Tia, since the girl never showed up. Especially if tomorrow Gray has received the photos sent by Maxine.
Dean was taking a break between his scheduled patient visits when he received a call from his uncle–Brazier.
“Hello, Uncle,” Dean said lightly.
“Hi, Dean. How are you?”
“I’m fine, Uncle. Just a little annoyed by some annoying bugs. How are you? Naomy and Lev?”
“They’re on vacation. Ah, Dean, I can’t linger. I just wanted to say, if you’re interested in coming, I happen to be hunting for bugs at the place. Would you like to come?”
“Sure, Uncle. That would be very interesting. Meanwhile I’m also waiting for a fly that might come at me. Tom has found his identity and Mike follow him.”
“I’ll let you know tomorrow after receiving the inside information.”
“Sure, Uncle, I’ll be waiting.”
“Dean, you still have your needle?”
“I still have it.”
“Hone it tonight. They’re on the move tonight because the girl hasn’t been seen at all.”
“I understand, Uncle.”
“And Dean, don’t stay mad at your ice prince for too long. He just wants to protect you by not telling you anything. After all, he’s already bought a pair of rings. I helped him pick out a model. Oops, I shouldn’t have told you this.”
“W-what? Ring? Uncle, wh–”
Click. Phone disconnected.
Dean was stunned. Ring
Outside, Shankar waited patiently on a chair in front of the VIP patient room. At the end of the corridor of VIP section ward, was the break room for the doctors and staff and he saw Dean coming into the room and not coming out yet.
Shankar was dressed like someone who was taking care of a patient. He already knew Dean’s schedule of patient visits and this time he was sure he wouldn’t lose the young doctor.
The doctor must have known where Tia was. Gray had given him orders to kill the doctor if he didn’t tell him where to hide Tia.
He had prepared a syringe filled with cyanide for the smart doctor Dean.
Not long after that Dean came out of the break room and walked to the toilet.
Shankar prepared the syringe and followed Dean to the bathroom. Dean was already in one of the booths when Shankar came in and locked the door. He grinned and knocked on the door where Dean was.
“Doctor Dean, let’s talk.”
