Chapter 42 The Beautiful Nurse

Book:The Ice Prince Published:2024-5-1

Dean took off his white coat and rolled up the sleeves of his shirt to his elbows, before sitting down in one of the chairs at the long table in the center of the staff break room.
Today he deliberately brought lunch at the hospital, because Kay and Peter would not be able to accompany him to lunch. They must follow their supervising physician to visit other hospitals and make comparative studies.
Dean is lazy to eat alone in the middle of a busy cafeteria, but he also doesn’t like eating with other coworkers. He didn’t feel comfortable with them, even though they were nice to him.
“Doctor Dean,” said a nurse who had entered the staff break room. She is a new nurse who has only worked for two weeks and is placed in the same department as Dean at this time, in internal medicine.
The nurse was beautiful, with a beautiful body and a sweet demeanor, making her likable. Several single male doctors and nurses had already started moving toward her.
Tia, the new nurse approached Dean and pulled up a chair near Dean. She looked at Dea’s lunch box while opening her own lunch box. “I rarely see you carrying a lunchbox, Doctor Dean.”
“It’s just a coincidence,” Dean said without looking at her and rummaging through the vegetable salad in his lunchbox.
“Usually you eat in the cafeteria with a tall and handsome Doctor or with a cute Doctor with pretty dimples.”
“They are doing comparative studies to other hospitals.”
Tia looked at Dean who had started to eat while reading the journal. Dean didn’t look at him at all and Tia was a little disappointed.
She had liked the last year’s resident doctor from the first time the chief of personnel introduced all the staff members of the internal medicine department where she would be working.
Tia immediately paid attention to Doctor Dean Damian who was very handsome and charismatic.
“The fried chicken looks delicious,” Tia said, pointing to Dean’s lunchbox. “Did you make it yourself, Doctor Dean?”
“Yes,” Dean replied curtly. It was Flynt’s favorite butter chicken.
“May I taste it? I really like deep-fried fried chicken like that.”
Before Dean could say anything, Tia stretched out her chopsticks and took one of the chicken pieces from Dean’s lunchbox. “Uumm … this is delicious,” said Tia while squeezing Dean’s hand which was on the table.
Dean was stunned for a moment, then he took a deep breath and handed Tia his lunch box as he stood up. “Just finish it. I’m full.”
Dean walked over to the sink and washed his hands, then grabbed a coat from the back of a chair.
“Doctor Dean, where are you going?” Tia asked confused. He looked into Dean’s lunchbox. There are still a few pieces of chicken and a little rice. Dean just finished his salad. “Your food is still there.”
Dean removed Tia’s hand from him and walked to the exit. “I don’t have an appetite anymore.”
Tia stared disappointedly at the closed door before her eyes. She didn’t understand why Dean was ignoring her, when there were lots of other guys trying to get her attention.
“She keeps coming to me, Kay,” Dean complained to Kay a few days later, as they were having dinner together in the cafeteria. “She even persuaded the head nurse to agree to change her schedule to be the same as mine.”
Kay stirred his chocolate drink with a laugh. “Didn’t anyone tell her you had an ice prince as a lover?”
“Not many people know about Flynt,” Dean said weakly. “Some of the people I’ve told that I already have a boyfriend even suspect that it’s just a trick for me to turn their attention away.”
“Hm… that must be because no one has actually seen Flynt with you.”
“Flynt said he didn’t want me to get into trouble with people gossiping behind their backs and talking about connections I might have used to get into this hospital, if they found out I was the boyfriend of the hospital owner’s brother.”
Kay hit the table lightly. “Sometimes people just don’t like to use their brains when they talk. If only they could see the grades you have to qualify to be accepted as a resident here.”
“Doctor Dean,” a woman’s voice greeted Dean. Tia stood by the table where Dean and Kay sat. “You eat here, apparently. I was looking for you in the staff room.”
Dean watched with disapproval eyes as Tia pulled up a chair and sat beside him, while Kay stared at her with interested eyes.
“Hello, I’m a nurse in the same department as Doctor Dean. You are a doctor….”
“Kay,” Kay replied in a formal tone.
“Nice to meet you, Doctor Kay,” Tia said cheerfully. He touched Dean’s arm lightly. “Doctor Dean, what time will you make your visit to the ward?”
“Why?” asked Dean coldly.
“I will be your escort on the visit tonight.”
“Nurse Jaylee was supposed to be with me on a visit tonight,” Dean said angrily.
“We swapped schedules because he has to pick up his girlfriend from college tonight.”
Kay understood why Dean was annoyed by this beautiful nurse named Tia. She is not only beautiful and sexy, but also aggressive and brave.
She clearly shows his interest in Dean and is not shy about launching attacks to win over Dean’s heart. She is the kind of woman who gets rejected the closer she gets, the more she stays away the more she pursues.
Dean complained about the nurse almost every day to Kay and Peter. Tia is very persistent and unyielding. She was always following Dean, buying him coffee or snacks, even though she knew everything she gave to Dean ended up on the table in the staff room without Dean touching it.
“Dean, you need to get rid of her immediately, before people start gossiping and the news reaches Flynt’s ears,” said Peter.
“Oh, Pete, you have no idea what I did to get her away from me,” Dean moaned desperately.
“She clung like a leech to Dean,” Kay said with a laugh. He stretched out tired. “Ah, I’m so tired. I should have watched the latest episode of my favorite Netflix series tonight with Mike, instead of being stuck with you guys again in this boring cafeteria.”
“I miss Wyland too,” muttered Peter blankly.
“Oh, shut up you guys!” said Dean annoyed. “At least you guys can still see them tomorrow and the next day. I’ve only been seeing Flynt for a week. And the problem with that nurse, aarrrgghh… I’m so stressed.”
As if summoned by a spell, suddenly Tia and another nurse approached the table where the three residents were complaining about their longing for lovers.
Tia immediately grabbed Dean’s arm in a familiar manner. “Hi, Doctor Dean, it turns out you’re here. I’ve been looking for you for a long time,” said Tia with a spoiled tone.
She waved to her friend who looked shy. “Doctor Kay, Doctor Peter, this is nurse Sherin. She just came in yesterday and was placed in neurosurgery, under Doctor Peter’s team.”
Tia and Sherin joined in and sat on chairs at the table uninvited. Den, Kay, and Peter looked at each other. Sherin seems to be interested in Peter, because her face blushes every time she sees Peter talking.
Dean lost his temper when bravely, Tia touched his shoulder, brushing off the imaginary dust there.
“Nurse Tia, can’t you stop touching me here and there? I’m so uncomfortable with what you’re doing,” Dean said sharply.
Tia was stunned for a moment, then smiled broadly. “Oh, you’re so handsome with a frown like that, Doctor Dean. That makes me like you even more.”
Oh my God, Kay thought confusedly. Why are these women getting bolder now.
“Doctor Dean, would you like to go on a date with me? We have no schedule tomorrow. Ah, maybe you’re also interested, Doctor Peter? Sherin said she wanted to get to know you closer, if you don’t mind,” said Tia while nudging Sherin who looked shy.”
“Doctor Peter may not mind, but I do.” A familiar-sounding voice snapped in a cold tone behind the three doctors.
Peter, Kay, and Dean turned deathly pale. They turned and saw Wyland and Mike standing with their arms crossed over their chests and their faces clouded.
Dean gasped. Behind them, loomed the huge tall figure he had longed for all along.
