Louis’s mind is not at rest, a lot of crazy thoughts about what Stefan might have done to Emily are running in his head. He is scared that Stefan might be hurting Emily or mistreating her, so he drives as fast as he can to Moon Bearers pack.
Jax is already waiting outside, he is regretting his actions. He should have thought twice before sending Emily into exile, now she’s in danger and it’s an even more complicated situation.
“Jax, what the hell happened?” Louis asks.
Jax sighs guiltily, “Louis, I’m so sorry. I should have informed you first before sending her out, I was mad at her because I thought…”
His words hang in his throat. Was he really about to say that he thought Emily was guilty? What if his cousin was innocent after all?
Louis already understands what is going on, “You think Emily is innocent?”
Jax shakes his head regrettably, “My mind did not process this in the first place. Emily could be innocent but then who is the culprit?”
“I need to see everyone that was present when it happened, even the victim.”
“What about Stefan?”
Louis hisses loudly, “He came to me earlier and showed me a video of Emily in his house. He’s a freak and wants me to give up my Alpha title in exchange for Emily’s freedom.”
Jax shivers in fear, “What did you say?”
“I am ready to do anything to bring Emily back but first, the main culprit will be fished out and punished properly.”
“Louis, are you crazy? If you give up your Alpha title, Stefan will ruin you and your pack. We have to fight him.”
Louis looks at Jax helplessly, “How do we fight him? One wrong move from us will cost Emily a lot, I can’t bear to see her suffer like that.”
Jax nods, understanding the pain Louis must be facing to see Emily in such pain, “But it’s better to put up a fight. Stefan has no one backing him up, he’s using the power of mouth to get to you. Let’s show him that we are Alphas and he should not dare mess with us.”
Louis finally agrees what Jax is saying, “You’re right, Jax. I have to put up a fight against Stefan first and I’ll make sure that I defeat him and bring back Emily in one piece.”
“That’s the spirit!”
They enter inside together. Louis sights Iris, and he side-eyes Jax to explain who the lady is.
“She’s my mate, Iris,” Jax introduces.
Louis could tell that she was a rogue, he exchanged a handshake with the lady who was also beautiful.
“I am Louis, Alpha of Crescent Moon pack.”
“Nice to meet you, Alpha Louis,” Iris responds.
“Please, just call me Louis. You even look older than me,” Louis says.
Iris chuckles, feeling comfortable with his free character but she still senses that something wrong is going on.
She musters the courage to ask, “What happened, you two don’t look too bright?”
“There’s something I have to tell you. I exiled my cousin, Emily, for a crime that I’m beginning to think she did not commit. Now, she’s in the hands of a crazy man who is threatening Louis.”
Iris processes the information slowly, “So if the man is holding your cousin, why is Louis being threatened?”
Louis replies, “Emily and I were once lovers and I regret my actions that led to our separation. That’s why Stefan is threatening me, he wants the Alpha title in exchange for Emily’s freedom.”
“Hold on, did you just say Stefan? Oh my goodness… it can’t be..” Iris begins to hyperventilate.
Jax has to hold her and soothe her, “What’s wrong, love?”
“He’s the man that murdered my father, he came to our territory under an exile but the main details were only shared with my father. At some point, they clashed and he killed my father. He even raised an army that he is planning on going to war with Jax’s pack.”
Louis slumps to the nearest chair weakly, every piece is beginning to fall into place. Whatever Stefan is planning to do, it’s been going on in his head for a very long time.
“If he has already gone far with the rogues, that means that he needs the Alpha title to be able to boldly declare war on any pack. The man has been studying us for a long time, only waiting for the right moment to strike and I made a way for him by sending Emily out,” Jax says with regret.
“Oh no, Stefan is unstoppable. That man is so crazy and bloodthirsty for power, we must find a way to stop him before things go out of control,” Iris cries.
“We will stop him first, we just have to find the culprit that implicated Emily, they might be working with Stefan.”
“Assemble everyone present on the day Emily was accused, I’ll go to any extent in squeezing the truth from their mouths,” Louis says, clenching his fists.
One mistake from them and Stefan will end everything, and Emily will be the first victim. Louis begins to ponder if things would have happened like this if he had simply married Emily, Stefan would have found it difficult to make a comeback. Imagine his boldness to walk into his pack and demand for it, the crazy freak must think that he has gained the upper hand. The things that Stefan has done are appalling, he deserves to be killed.
As Jax is about to leave, Iris holds his hands, “Let me come with you.”
“You have to rest, Iris. I can’t afford to lose you now that you’re mine,” Jax says to her.
“But I want to help out, it’s hurting me to see Stefan gaining the upper hand in all of this.”
“You’ll help out, love. But that will be when the right time comes, you’re a warrior so you must keep your strength for when the main battle comes.”
Iris nods, believing that Jax is right. She should not exhaust her strength for the climax of the drama, she must be ready for Stefan anytime he strikes again.
“You’re right, I’ll wait and practice in preparation for the war. We’ll bring Stefan down, together.”
Jax smiles at her, satisfied with her courage. He is glad that he chose her after all, if he had married Sarah, he would have been discouraged immediately. Then it suddenly hits him.
“Hold on, Sarah was there that day, she was the one that accused Emily and directed us to check Emily’s purse,” Jax says.
Iris gasps, “Sarah, the lady you wanted to get married to?”
Jax nods briefly, “Yes.”
“Then interrogate her until she speaks the truth. That lady has always had a dark aura surrounding her, did you not ever notice?”
“No. Maybe I was too preoccupied with thinking about you.”
Iris blushes, Jax can be funny at times. But right now, he is on an important mission to find a culprit. She lets go of his hands.
“Go get her, babe.”
