Conrad is restless. First of all, he is pained by the rejection of Freya and secondly, he is pained that Emily has left him. They could not exchange goodbyes because she left in haste. He just stood helplessly and watched as the final round was conducted for the second time. Bill is handling this round and he meant to watch and others observe them.
The moment Jax enters, Conrad rushes to speak with him. A lot of thoughts have been running through his head about what to do with Emily’s situation. Jax is also haunted by his guilty feelings of sending his cousin away.
“Jax, we need to talk,” Conrad says hastily.
“What do you want us to do?”
“We need to contact Emily, she has nowhere else to go.”
Jax tries to control his rising anger, “Can we not talk about this? Emily is in exile which means total isolation, she’ll go back to her parents.”
“Don’t you understand? She can’t go back to Crescent Moon pack because of Louis, she’ll try to move in somewhere else.”
“Then let her move in, it’s her punishment for what she did. Have you not seen Regina? she’s in a damn critical condition because of this, that young woman’s face is destroyed and you want me to spare the culprit?”
“So you believe that Emily is the culprit? You’ve known Emily right from birth, you know that she’s not capable of doing that to Regina…”
“But the evidence was seen in her purse! What did you expect me to do? punish someone else? Emily was caught red-handed by me and I did justice to her crime, she deserves it. Now, I’m going to warn you to stop being a coward and deal with it!” Jax tells him in anger.
Conrad looks baffled at him, knowing that there’s nothing he can do anymore. He picks out his phone and dials Emily’s number, the call line is not even connecting. He watches with a heavy heart as the competition continues and after a few hours, Bill announces the winner.
“The winner of this bride competition is Number Ten!”
Sarah screams excitedly, her plans have fallen into place. She’s now the Luna of Moon Bearers pack, she moved Emily out of her way and everything is working according to her plans. What a lovely moment it is!
Jax approaches Sarah and holds her hands, his mind is still against the idea of marrying her. He sighs in his mind, there is nothing he can do about it.
“Sarah, congratulations. You’re now the Luna of this pack, we’ll have our wedding tomorrow morning,” Jax tells her.
Conrad looks at Jax like his crazy. Setting the wedding tomorrow morning is the craziest thing Jax has ever said. But he could not talk to him now because they were not on good terms with each other.
Conrad goes to visit Regina in the hospital afterward, and Nox is still there with her. Conrad had learned that they were mates and Regina was looking for a means to quit the competition. Nox stands to greet him, his eyes are swollen from constantly crying out.
“I’m sorry for this, I hope you understand?” Conrad says to Nox.
“Emily deserves to die for what she did to Regina, just look at her face.”
Indeed, Regina’s face is contorted and disfigured, and Conrad doubts that the lady’s face will be smooth after surviving such a horrible accident.
“I know that you’re angry about what happened to your mate, but I can assure you that Emily is innocent…”
“Did you not see the evidence in her purse? Beta Conrad, Emily destroyed Regina’s face. Emily’s face should be destroyed as a punishment and compensated to us!”
Conrad sighs, no one will ever believe that Emily is innocent. He seems to be the only one who believes her yet he cannot defend her.
“Sarah is going to married officially to Jax by tomorrow morning,” Conrad announces with a heavy heart.
Nox’s mouth drops open, he looks at Conrad with disbelief, “So she won the competition?”
“Yes. Sarah is one toxic problem that we are going to face now, that lunatic will do worse than before once she becomes the Luna.”
“How are we going to stop her?” Nox knows that Sarah will be unstoppable once she becomes the Luna.
“I don’t know what to do, we just have to pray to the moon goddess that there’s an intervention.”
That morning, Sarah posed like a queen as she was being dressed up for the wedding. Freya is even standing by her side, she is wearing a royal blue gown. In her mind, today will change her entire life once the wedding rites are completed. Sarah feels that nothing can stop her now, she has conquered her darkest fears and won the competition.
With a high boldness, she steps out to the hall where the wedding will take place. She is accompanied to the hall and stands at the altar with Jax in front of her. The moment Jax wants to make his confession and accept her as his wife and Luna, the door opens suddenly and a strange bunch of people come in.
Jax would have ordered them to be arrested but the sight of Iris amongst them intrigued him, he watched her with keen eyes as she walked majestically to the altar with her people.
“You have to stop this wedding!” she says boldly, the crowd gasps while Sarah looks pissed off.
“Why?” Sarah asks angrily.
Jax is also curious to know why Iris would make such an order boldly.
“This marriage is not the right thing to do especially when you’re pack is under pressure and at war!”
The people present begin to murmur at the mention of war, they are already aware that the people that barged in are rogues and the war might be coming from them.
“War?” Jax queries.
“Yes, war. The leader of the rogues was murdered by a mentally unstable rogue who is now leading the people astray and admonishing them to prepare for war,” Iris explains further.
Although she is a little pained that Jax almost tied the knot with another woman, If not for her interruption she would have lost him forever. Jax’s face still looks perplexed, Iris’s news just sounded like a bombshell in his ears, and he is still trying to process the information.
“You have to stop the wedding, now! Your pack is at war,” Iris adds.
“Stop the wedding, it’s canceled,” Jax announces.
Sarah slumps to the ground in devastation, Freya rushes to her side to help her up. The news of the cancellation is shocking, Sarah is sad that all are wasted efforts proved abortive. She has returned to level one and will start afresh to make plans and strategize them.
